1 А ввесь Ізраїль був переписаний, й ось вони були записані в книзі Ізраїлевих царів. А Юда був переселений до Вавилону за своє спроневірення.

So all Israel was recorded by genealogies, and indeed, they were inscribed in the book of the kings of Israel. But Judah was carried away captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.

2 А перші мешканці, що сиділи в своїй посілості, по своїх містах, були: Ізраїль, священики, Левити та слуги храму.

And the first inhabitants who dwelt in their possessions in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and the Nethinim. Dwellers in Jerusalem

3 А в Єрусалимі сиділи з Юдиних синів, і з Веніяминових синів, і з синів Єфремових та Манасіїних:

Now in Jerusalem the children of Judah dwelt, and some of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:

4 У тай, син Аммігуда, сина Омрі, сина Імрі, сина Бані, з синів Переца, Юдиного сина.

Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the descendants of Perez, the son of Judah.

5 А з шілонян: первороджений Асая та сини його.

Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6 А з синів Зерахових: Єуїл, та брати їх, шість сотень і дев'ятдесят.

Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brethren—six hundred and ninety.

7 А з синів Веніяминових: Саллу, син Мешуллама, сина Годавії, сина Сенуї,

Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8 і Ївнея, син Єрохамів; і Ела, син Уззі, сина Міхрі, і Мешуллам, син Шефатії, сина Реуїла, сина Ївнійї,

Ibneiah the son of Jeroham; Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9 і брати їхні за їхніми нащадками, дев'ять сотень і п'ятдесят і шість. Усі ці мужі голови батьків, дому батьків своїх.

and their brethren, according to their generations—nine hundred and fifty-six. All these men were heads of a father’s house in their fathers’ houses. The Priests at Jerusalem

10 А із священиків: Єдая, і Єгоярів, і Яхін.

Of the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, and Jachin;

11 А Азарія, син Хілкійї, сина Мешуллама, сина Садока, сина Мерайота, сина Ахітава, управитель Божого дому;

Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the officer over the house of God;

12 і Адая, син Єрохама, сина Пашхура, сина Малкійї; і Масай, син Адіїла, сина Яхзери, сина Мешуллама, сина Мешіллеміта, сина Іммера;

Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah; Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

13 і брати їх, голови дому своїх батьків тисяча й сім сотень і шістдесят, дуже добрі мужі на працю в ділі Божого дому.

and their brethren, heads of their fathers’ houses—one thousand seven hundred and sixty. They were very able men for the work of the service of the house of God. The Levites at Jerusalem

14 А з Левитів: Шемая, син Хассува, сина Азрікама, сина Хашав'ї, з синів Мерарі;

Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

15 і Бакбаккар, Хереш, і Балал, і Маттанія, син Міхи, сина Зіхрі, сина Асафа;

Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

16 і Авадія, син Шемаї, сина Ґалала, сина Єдутуна; і Берехія, син Аси, сина Елкани, що сидів в осадах нетоф'ян.

Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites. The Levite Gatekeepers

17 А придверні: Шаллум, і Аккув, і Талмон, і Ахіман, і брати їхні; Шаллум був голова.

And the gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their brethren. Shallum was the chief.

18 І аж дотепер вони в царській брамі на схід, вони придверні таборів Левієвих синів.

Until then they had been gatekeepers for the camps of the children of Levi at the King’s Gate on the east.

19 А Шаллум, син Коре, сина Ев'ясафа, сина Кораха, і брати його з дому його батька, корахівці, на праці служби, стерегли пороги скинії, а їхні батьки були над Господнім табором, стерегли вхід.

Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, from his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, gatekeepers of the tabernacle. Their fathers had been keepers of the entrance to the camp of the Lord.

20 І Пінхас, син Елеазарів, був над ними колись зверхником, і Господь був із ним.

And Phinehas the son of Eleazar had been the officer over them in time past; the Lord was with him.

21 З ахарій, син Мешелемії, був придверний при вході скинії заповіту.

Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was keeper of the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

22 У сіх їх, вибраних на придверних при порогах, було двісті й дванадцять. Вони переписані по своїх осадах. Їх поставив Давид та прозорливець Самуїл за їх вірність.

All those chosen as gatekeepers were two hundred and twelve. They were recorded by their genealogy, in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their trusted office.

23 І вони та їхні сини були при брамах Господнього дому, дому скинії, за вартами.

So they and their children were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, the house of the tabernacle, by assignment.

24 Н а чотири боки були придверні: на схід, на захід, на північ, на південь.

The gatekeepers were assigned to the four directions: the east, west, north, and south.

25 А брати їхні були по селах, мусіли приходити на сім день, від часу до часу, щоб бути з ними на службі,

And their brethren in their villages had to come with them from time to time for seven days.

26 б о в службі були чотири перші придверні, вони Левити; вони ж доглядали помешкань та скарбів Божого дому.

For in this trusted office were four chief gatekeepers; they were Levites. And they had charge over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

27 І вони всю ніч перебували навколо Божого дому, бо на них був обов'язок варти, і вона щоранку відмикали двері.

And they lodged all around the house of God because they had the responsibility, and they were in charge of opening it every morning. Other Levite Responsibilities

28 І з них були дехто коло службового посуду, бо за числом його приносили, і за числом його виносили.

Now some of them were in charge of the serving vessels, for they brought them in and took them out by count.

29 І з них дехто були призначені до посуду та до всяких святих речей: і над пшеничною мукою, і над вином, і над оливою, і над ладаном, і над пахощами.

Some of them were appointed over the furnishings and over all the implements of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the incense and the spices.

30 А з священичих синів були ті, що мішали запашне на кадило.

And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.

31 А Маттітія з Левитів, він первороджений корахівця Шаллума, був у службі над справою сковорід.

Mattithiah of the Levites, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the trusted office over the things that were baked in the pans.

32 А з синів кегатівців, з їхніх братів, були над хлібом показним, щоб приготовляти щосуботи.

And some of their brethren of the sons of the Kohathites were in charge of preparing the showbread for every Sabbath.

33 А оце співаки, голови батьківських домів Левитів, по кімнатах, були вільні від іншої праці, бо вдень та вночі були вони при своїй роботі.

These are the singers, heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites, who lodged in the chambers, and were free from other duties; for they were employed in that work day and night.

34 О це голови батьківських домів Левитів за їхніми нащадками, голови, що сиділи в Єрусалимі.

These heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites were heads throughout their generations. They dwelt at Jerusalem. The Family of King Saul

35 А в Ґів'оні сиділи: батько Ґів'ону Єіїл, а ім'я його жінці Мааха,

Jeiel the father of Gibeon, whose wife’s name was Maacah, dwelt at Gibeon.

36 і первороджений син його Авдон, і Цур, і Кіш, і Баал, і Нер, і Надав,

His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

37 і Ґедор, і Ахйо, і Захарій, і Міклот.

Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

38 А Міклот породив Шім'ама. І вони теж сиділи в Єрусалимі при братах своїх, зо своїми братами.

And Mikloth begot Shimeam. They also dwelt alongside their relatives in Jerusalem, with their brethren.

39 А Нер породив Кіша, а Кіш породив Саула, а Саул породив Йонатана, і Малкі-Шую, і Авінадава, і Ешбаала.

Ner begot Kish, Kish begot Saul, and Saul begot Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.

40 А син Йонатанів Мерів-Баал, а Мерів-Баал породив Міху.

The son of Jonathan was Merib-Baal, and Merib-Baal begot Micah.

41 А сини Міхи: Пітон, і Мелех, і Тахрея.

The sons of Micah were Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

42 А Ахаз породив Яру, а Яра породив Алмета, і Азмавета, і Зімрі. А Зімрі породив Моцу.

And Ahaz begot Jarah; Jarah begot Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begot Moza;

43 А Моца породив Бін'ю, його син Рефая, його син Ел'аса, його син Ацел.

Moza begot Binea, Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.

44 А в Ацела було шестеро синів, а оце їхні імена: Азрікам, Бохеру, і Ізмаїл, і Шеар'я, і Овадія, і Ханан, оце сини Ацелові.

And Azel had six sons whose names were these: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan; these were the sons of Azel.
