1 Н е тішся, Ізраїлю, радістю, як ті народи, бо ти чиниш блуд, відступаючи від свого Бога, дар блудодійний кохаєш на всіх токах збіжжевих.

Do not rejoice, O Israel, with joy like other peoples, For you have played the harlot against your God. You have made love for hire on every threshing floor.

2 Г одувати не буде їх тік та чавило, а сік виноградний зведе їх.

The threshing floor and the winepress Shall not feed them, And the new wine shall fail in her.

3 Н е будуть сидіти в Господньому Краї вони, і Єфрем до Єгипту повернеться, і вони будуть їсти нечисте в Асирії.

They shall not dwell in the Lord ’s land, But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, And shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

4 Г осподеві вина вони лити не будуть, і жертви не будуть приємні Йому; це буде для них, немов хліб похоронний, усі, що будуть його споживати, занечистяться, бо їхній хліб для насичення їх, не для дому Господнього.

They shall not offer wine offerings to the Lord, Nor shall their sacrifices be pleasing to Him. It shall be like bread of mourners to them; All who eat it shall be defiled. For their bread shall be for their own life; It shall not come into the house of the Lord.

5 Щ о зробите ви на день урочистий та на день свята Господнього?

What will you do in the appointed day, And in the day of the feast of the Lord ?

6 Б о йдуть ось вони до Асирії, їх збирає Єгипет, Мемфіс їх ховає, коштовність їхнього срібла посяде кропива, будяччя по їхніх наметах.

For indeed they are gone because of destruction. Egypt shall gather them up; Memphis shall bury them. Nettles shall possess their valuables of silver; Thorns shall be in their tents.

7 П рийшли дні навіщення, прийшли дні заплати, Ізраїль пізнає оце: Нерозумний пророк цей, шалений муж духа, за численність провин твоїх і велике зненавидження!

The days of punishment have come; The days of recompense have come. Israel knows! The prophet is a fool, The spiritual man is insane, Because of the greatness of your iniquity and great enmity.

8 Є фрем сторож із Богом моїм, пророк пастка птахолова на всіх дорогах його, ненависть у домі Бога його.

The watchman of Ephraim is with my God; But the prophet is a fowler’s snare in all his ways— Enmity in the house of his God.

9 Г либоко зіпсулись вони, як за днів тих Ґів'ї, Він згадає за їхні провини, Він їхні гріхи покарає!

They are deeply corrupted, As in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will punish their sins.

10 Н емов виноград на пустині, знайшов Я Ізраїля, як фіґу поранню на фіґовім дереві, Я бачив був ваших батьків на початку його, та вони до Баал-Пеору прийшли, і себе присвятили для Бошета, і стали гидотою, як полюблене ними.

“I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.

11 Є фремова слава, як птах, відлетить: не буде народження, ані зачаття, ані вагітности.

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird— No birth, no pregnancy, and no conception!

12 Б о якщо вони викохають свої діти, то їх повбиваю, так що не буде людини, бо горе їм, як відступлю Я від них.

Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them to the last man. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them!

13 Є фрем, як Я бачу, для вловів йому подали його власних дітей, і Єфрем поведе своїх власних дітей на заріз...

Just as I saw Ephraim like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place, So Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.”

14 Д ай їм, Господи, що ж Ти даси? дай їм утробу неплідну та висохлі груди!

Give them, O Lord — What will You give? Give them a miscarrying womb And dry breasts!

15 У се їхнє зло у Ґілґалі, бо там Я зненавидів їх; за зло їхніх учинків Я вижену їх з Свого дому. Не буду їх більше любити, всі їхні князі ворохобники!

“All their wickedness is in Gilgal, For there I hated them. Because of the evil of their deeds I will drive them from My house; I will love them no more. All their princes are rebellious.

16 П обитий Єфрем, їхній корень посох, він плоду не зродить. А коли вони зродять, то Я повбиваю улюблених їхнього лона.

Ephraim is stricken, Their root is dried up; They shall bear no fruit. Yes, were they to bear children, I would kill the darlings of their womb.”

17 В ідкине їх Бог мій, бо вони неслухняні для Нього були, і будуть вони мандрувати між народами.

My God will cast them away, Because they did not obey Him; And they shall be wanderers among the nations.
