2 V oi lăuda pe Domnul cît voi trăi, voi lăuda pe Dumnezeul meu cît voi fi.

While I live will I praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have any being.

3 N u vă încredeţi în cei mari, în fiii oamenilor, în cari nu este ajutor.

Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 S uflarea lor trece, se întorc în pămînt, şi în aceeaş zi le pier şi planurile lor.

When his breath leaves him, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts, plans, and purposes perish.

5 F erice de cine are ca ajutor pe Dumnezeul lui Iacov, ferice de cine-şi pune nădejdea în Domnul, Dumnezeul său!

Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

6 E l a făcut cerurile şi pămîntul, marea şi tot ce este în ea. El ţine credincioşia în veci.

Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever,

7 E l face dreptate celor asupriţi; dă pîne celor flămînzi: Domnul izbăveşte pe prinşii de război;

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners,

8 D omnul deschide ochii orbilor; Domnul îndreaptă pe cei încovoiaţi; Domnul iubeşte pe cei neprihăniţi.

The Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous (those upright in heart and in right standing with Him).

9 D omnul ocroteşte pe cei străini, sprijineşte pe orfan şi pe văduvă, dar răstoarnă calea celor răi.

The Lord protects and preserves the strangers and temporary residents, He upholds the fatherless and the widow and sets them upright, but the way of the wicked He makes crooked (turns upside down and brings to ruin).

10 D omnul împărăţeşte în veci; Dumnezeul tău, Sioane, rămîne din veac în veac! Lăudaţi pe Domnul!

The Lord shall reign forever, even Your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
