1 ( O cîntare a treptelor.) Cei ce se încred în Domnul sînt ca muntele Sionului, care nu se clatină, ci stă întărit pe vecie.

Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.

2 C um este înconjurat Ierusalimului de munţi, aşa înconjoară Domnul pe poporul Său, deacum şi pînă în veac.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from this time forth and forever.

3 C ăci toiagul de cîrmuire al răutăţii nu va rămînea pe moştenirea celor neprihăniţi, pentru ca cei neprihăniţi să nu întindă mînile spre nelegiuire.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, lest the righteous (God’s people) stretch forth their hands to iniquity and apostasy.

4 D oamne, varsă-Ţi binefacerile peste cei buni, şi peste cei cu inima fără prihană!

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are right in their hearts.

5 D ar pe ceice apucă pe căi lăturalnice, să -i nimicească Domnul împreună cu cei ce fac rău! Pacea să fie peste Israel!

As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!
