God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present and well-proved help in trouble.

2 D e aceea nu ne temem, chiar dacă s'ar zgudui pămîntul, şi s'ar clătina munţii în inima mărilor.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas,

3 C hiar dacă ar urla şi ar spumega valurile mării, şi s'ar ridica pînă acolo de să se cutremure munţii. -

Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah!

4 E ste un rîu, ale cărui izvoare înveselesc cetatea lui Dumnezeu, sfîntul locaş al locuinţelor Celui Prea Înalt.

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

5 D umnezeu este în mijlocul ei: ea nu se clatină; Dumnezeu o ajută în revărsatul zorilor.

God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early.

6 N eamurile se frămîntă, împărăţiile se clatină, dar glasul Lui răsună, şi pămîntul se topeşte de groază.

The nations raged, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

7 D omnul oştirilor este cu noi, Dumnezeul lui Iacov este un turn de scăpare pentru noi. -

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah!

8 V eniţi şi priviţi lucrările Domnului, pustiirile, pe cari le -a făcut El pe pămînt.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.

9 E l a pus capăt războaielor pînă la marginea pămîntului; El a sfărîmat arcul, şi a rupt suliţa, a ars cu foc carăle de război. -

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

10 O priţi-vă, şi să ştiţi că Eu sînt Dumnezeu: Eu stăpînesc peste neamuri, Eu stăpînesc pe pămînt. -

Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

11 D omnul oştirilor este cu noi. Dumnezeul lui Iacov este un turn de scăpare pentru noi. -

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah!
