1 Ş i am auzit un glas tare, care venea din Templu, şi care zicea celor şapte îngeri:,, Duceţi-vă, şi vărsaţi pe pămînt cele şapte potire ale mîniei lui Dumnezeu!``

Then I heard a mighty voice from the temple sanctuary saying to the seven angels, Go and empty out on the earth the seven bowls of God’s wrath and indignation.

2 C el dintîi s'a dus şi a vărsat potirul lui pe pămînt. Şi o rană rea şi dureroasă a lovit pe oamenii, cari aveau semnul fiarei şi cari se închinau icoanei ei.

So the first went and emptied his bowl on the earth, and foul and painful ulcers (sores) came on the people who were marked with the stamp of the beast and who did homage to his image.

3 A l doilea a vărsat potirul lui în mare. Şi marea s'a făcut sînge, ca sîngele unui om mort. Şi a murit orice făptură vie, chiar şi tot ce era în mare.

The second emptied his bowl into the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a corpse, and every living thing that was in the sea perished.

4 A l treilea a vărsat potirul lui în rîuri şi în izvoarele apelor. Şi apele s'au făcut sînge.

Then the third emptied out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into (became) blood.

5 Ş i am auzit pe îngerul apelor zicînd:,, Drept eşti Tu, Doamne, care eşti şi care erai! Tu eşti Sfînt, pentrucă ai judecat în felul acesta.

And I also heard the angel of the waters say, Righteous (just) are You in these Your decisions and judgments, You Who are and were, O Holy One!

6 F iindcă aceştia au vărsat sîngele sfinţilor şi al proorocilor, le-ai dat şi Tu să bea sînge. Şi sînt vrednici.``

Because they have poured out the blood of Your people (the saints) and the prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. Such is their due!

7 Ş i am auzit altarul zicînd:,, Da, Doamne Dumnezeule, Atotputernice, adevărate şi drepte sînt judecăţile Tale!``

And the altar I heard cry, Yes, Lord God the Omnipotent, Your judgments (sentences, decisions) are true and just and righteous!

8 A l patrulea a vărsat potirul lui peste soare. Şi soarelui i s'a dat să dogorească pe oameni cu focul lui.

Then the fourth emptied out his bowl upon the sun, and it was permitted to burn (scorch) humanity with heat (fire).

9 Ş i oamenii au fost dogoriţi de o arşiţă mare, şi au hulit Numele Dumnezeului care are stăpînire peste aceste urgii, şi nu s'au pocăit ca să -I dea slavă.

People were severely burned (scorched) by the fiery heat, and they reviled and blasphemed the name of God, Who has control of these plagues, and they did not repent of their sins to give Him glory.

10 A l cincilea a vărsat potirul lui peste scaunul de domnie al fiarei. Şi împărăţia fiarei a fost acoperită de întunerec. Oamenii îşi muşcau limbile de durere.

Then the fifth emptied his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was in darkness; and people gnawed their tongues for the torment

11 Ş i au hulit pe Dumnezeul cerului, din pricina durerilor lor şi din pricina rănilor lor rele, şi nu s'au pocăit de faptele lor.

And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their anguish and their ulcers (sores), and they did not deplore their wicked deeds or repent.

12 A l şaselea a vărsat potirul lui peste rîul cel mare, Eufrat. Şi apa lui a secat, ca să fie pregătită calea împăraţilor, cari au să vină din Răsărit.

Then the sixth emptied his bowl on the mighty river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to make ready a road for the kings of the east (from the rising sun).

13 A poi am văzut ieşind din gura balaurului, şi din gura fiarei, şi din gura proorocului mincinos trei duhuri necurate, cari semănau cu nişte broaşte.

And I saw three loathsome spirits like frogs, from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet.

14 A cestea sînt duhuri de draci, cari fac semne nemaipomenite, şi cari se duc la împăraţii pămîntului întreg, ca să -i strîngă pentru războiul zilei celei mari a Dumnezeului Celui Atotputernic. -

For really they are the spirits of demons that perform signs (wonders, miracles). And they go forth to the rulers and leaders all over the world, to gather them together for war on the great day of God the Almighty.

15 I ată, Eu vin ca un hoţ. Ferice de celce veghează şi îşi păzeşte hainele, ca să nu umble gol şi să i se vadă ruşinea!`` -

Behold, I am going to come like a thief! Blessed (happy, to be envied) is he who stays awake (alert) and who guards his clothes, so that he may not be naked and seen exposed!

16 D uhurile cele rele i-au strîns în locul care pe evreieşte se cheamă Armaghedon.

And they gathered them together at the place which in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

17 A l şaptelea a vărsat potirul lui în văzduh. Şi din Templu, din scaunul de domnie, a ieşit un glas tare, care zicea:,, S'a isprăvit!``

Then the seventh emptied out his bowl into the air, and a mighty voice came out of the sanctuary of heaven from the throne, saying, It is done!

18 Ş i au urmat fulgere, glasuri, tunete, şi s'a făcut un mare cutremur de pămînt, aşa de tare, cum, de cînd este omul pe pămînt, n'a fost un cutremur aşa de mare.

And there followed lightning flashes, loud rumblings, peals of thunder, and a tremendous earthquake; nothing like it has ever occurred since men dwelt on the earth, so severe and far-reaching was that earthquake.

19 C etatea cea mare a fost împărţită în trei părţi, şi cetăţile Neamurilor s'au prăbuşit. Şi Dumnezeu Şi -a adus aminte de Babilonul cel mare, ca să -i dea potirul de vin al furiei mîniei Lui.

The mighty city was broken into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And God kept in mind mighty Babylon, to make her drain the cup of His furious wrath and indignation.

20 T oate ostroavele au fugit, şi munţii nu s'au mai găsit.

And every island fled and no mountains could be found.

21 O grindină mare, ale cărei boabe cîntăreau aproape un talant, a căzut din cer peste oameni. Şi oamenii au hulit pe Dumnezeu din pricina urgiei grindinii, pentrucă această urgie era foarte mare.

And great (excessively oppressive) hailstones, as heavy as a talent, of immense size, fell from the sky on the people; and men blasphemed God for the plague of the hail, so very great was of that plague.
