1 I ată preoţii şi Leviţii cari s'au întors cu Zorobabel, fiul lui Şealtiel, şi cu Iosua: Seraia, Ieremia, Ezra,

Now these are the priests and Levites who went up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and with Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,

2 A maria, Maluc, Hatuş,

Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,

3 Ş ecania, Rehum, Meremot,

Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,

4 I do, Ghinetoi, Abia,

Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,

5 M iiamin, Maadia, Bilga,

Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

6 Ş emaia, Ioiarib, Iedaia,

Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,

7 S alu, Amoc, Hilchia, Iedaia. Aceştia au fost căpeteniile preoţilor şi a fraţilor lor, pe vremea lui Iosua. -

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren in the days of Jeshua.

8 L eviţi: Iosua, Binui, Cadmiel, Şerebia, Iuda, Matania, care cîrmuia împreună cu fraţii săi cîntarea laudelor;

And the Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who, with his brethren, was over the thanksgiving.

9 B acbuchia şi Uni, cari îşi împlineau slujbele lîngă fraţii lor.

Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, stood opposite them according to their offices.

10 I osua a născut pe Ioiachim, Ioiachim a născut pe Eliaşib, Eliaşib a născut pe Ioiada,

And Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim of Eliashib, Eliashib of Joiada,

11 I oiada a născut pe Ionatan, şi Ionatan a născut pe Iadua.

Joiada was the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan of Jaddua.

12 I ată, cari erau pe vremea lui Ioiachim, preoţii, capi de familii: pentru Seraia, Meraia; pentru Ieremia, Hanania;

And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers’ houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

13 p entru Ezra, Meşulam; pentru Amaria, Iohanan;

Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;

14 p entru Meluchi, Ionatan, pentru Şebania, Iosif;

Of Malluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;

15 p entru Harim, Adna; pentru Meraioat, Helcai;

Of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;

16 p entru Ido, Zaharia, pentru Ghineton, Meşulam;

Of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 p entru Abia, Zicri; pentru Miniamin şi Moadia, Piltai;

Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin and of Moadiah, Piltai;

18 p entru Bilga, Şamua; pentru Şemaia, Ionatan;

Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;

19 p entru Ioiarib, Matnai; pentru Iedaia, Uzi;

Of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

20 p entru Salai, Calai; pentru Amoc, Eber;

Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;

21 p entru Hilchia, Haşabia; pentru Iedaia, Netaneel.

Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

22 P e vremea lui Eliaşib, lui Ioiada, lui Iohanan şi lui Iadua, Leviţii, capi de familii, şi preoţii, au fost scrişi, supt domnia lui Dariu, Persanul.

As for the Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua, the heads of fathers’ houses were recorded, as well as the priests, until the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 F iii lui Levi, capi de familii, au fost scrişi în cartea Cronicilor pînă pe vremea lui Iohanan, fiul lui Eliaşib.

The sons of Levi, heads of fathers’ houses, were recorded in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan son of Eliashib.

24 C ăpeteniile Leviţilor, Haşabia, Şerebia, şi Iosua, fiul lui Cadmiel, şi fraţii lor împreună cu ei, stînd unii în faţa altora, erau însărcinaţi să mărească şi să laude pe Domnul, după rînduiala lui David, omul lui Dumnezeu.

And the chiefs of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite them, to praise and to give thanks, as David, God’s man, commanded, watch in response to watch.

25 M atania, Bacbuchia, Obadia, Meşulam, Talmon şi Acub, uşieri, făceau de strajă la cămările dela porţi.

Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers guarding at the storehouses of the gates.

26 E i trăiau pe vremea lui Ioiachim, fiul lui Iosua, fiul lui Ioţadac, şi pe vremea lui Neemia, dregătorul, şi pe vremea preotului şi cărturarului Ezra.

These were in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest and scribe.

27 L a sfinţirea zidurilor Ierusalimului, au chemat pe Leviţi din toate locurile în cari locuiau, şi i-au adus la Ierusalim, ca să prăznuiască sfinţirea şi sărbătoarea cu laude şi cîntări, în sunet de chimvale, alăute şi arfe.

And for the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites in all their places to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, harps, and lyres.

28 F iii cîntăreţilor s'au strîns din împrejurimile Ierusalimului, din satele slujitorilor Templului,

And the sons of the singers gathered together from the plain and circuit around Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites,

29 d in Bet-Ghilgal, şi din ţinutul Ghebei şi din Azmavet; căci cîntăreţii îşi zidiseră sate împrejurul Ierusalimului.

And also from Beth-gilgal and the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.

30 P reoţii şi Leviţii s'au curăţit, şi au curăţit şi pe popor, porţile şi zidul.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, the people, the gates, and the wall.

31 A m suit pe zid pe căpeteniile lui Iuda, şi am făcut două coruri mari. Cel dintîi a pornit pe partea dreaptă a zidului, spre poarta gunoiului.

Then I brought the princes of Judah up on the wall, and I appointed two great companies of them who gave thanks and went in procession. One went to the right upon the wall toward the Dung Gate.

32 Î n urma acestui cor mergeau Hosea şi jumătate din căpeteniile lui Iuda,

And after them went Hoshaiah and half of the princes of Judah,

33 A zaria, Ezra, Meşulam,

And Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

34 I uda, Beniamin, Şemaia, şi Ieremia,

Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,

35 u nii din fiii preoţilor cu trîmbiţe, Zaharia, fiul lui Ionatan, fiul lui Şemaia, fiul lui Matania, fiul lui Mica, fiul lui Zacur, fiul lui Asaf,

And certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets, and Zechariah son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,

36 ş i fraţii săi, Şemaia, Azareel, Milalai, Ghilalai, Maai, Netaneel, Iuda şi Hanani, cu instrumentele de muzică ale lui David, omul lui Dumnezeu. Cărturarul Ezra era în fruntea lor.

And his kinsmen—Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, Hanani—with the musical instruments of David, God’s man. And Ezra the scribe went before them.

37 L a poarta izvorului, s'au suit drept înainte pe treptele cetăţii lui David pe ridicătura zidului, deasupra casei lui David, pînă la poarta apelor, spre răsărit.

At the Fountain Gate they went up straight ahead by the stairs of the City of David at the wall’s ascent above David’s house to the Water Gate on the east.

38 A l doilea cor a pornit spre stînga. În urma lui veneam eu cu cealaltă jumătate din popor, pe zid. Trecînd pe deasupra turnului cuptoarelor, au mers pînă la zidul cel lat;

The other company of those who gave thanks went to the left; I followed with half of the people upon the wall, above the Tower of the Furnaces to the Broad Wall,

39 a poi pe deasupra porţii lui Efraim, pedeasupra porţii celei vechi, pe deasupra porţii peştilor, pe deasupra turnului lui Hananeel şi pe deasupra turnului Mea, pînă la poarta oilor. Şi s'au oprit la poarta temniţei.

And above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate and by the Fish Gate and by the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of Hammeah, even to the Sheep Gate; and they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.

40 C ele două coruri s'au oprit în Casa lui Dumnezeu; şi tot aşa şi eu şi dregătorii cari erau cu mine,

So the two companies of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I, and the half of the officials with me;

41 ş i preoţii Eliachim, Maaseia, Miniamin, Mica, Elioenai, Zaharia, Hanania, cu trîmbiţe,

And the priests Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

42 ş i Maaseia, Şemaia, Eleazar, Uzi, Iohanan, Malchia, Elam şi Ezer. Cîntăreţii şi-au înălţat glasul, cîrmuiţi de Izrahia.

And Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang and made themselves heard, with Jezrahiah as leader.

43 Î n ziua aceea s'au adus multe jertfe, şi a fost mare bucurie, căci Dumnezeu dăduse poporului o mare pricină de bucurie. Se bucurau şi femeile şi copiii, şi strigătele de bucurie ale Ierusalimului se auzeau pînă departe.

Also that day they offered great sacrifices and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women also and the children rejoiced. The joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

44 Î n ziua aceea, s'au rînduit oameni cari să privegheze asupra odăilor cari slujeau de cămări pentru darurile de mîncare, cele dintîi roade şi zeciuieli. Ei au fost însărcinaţi să adune în ele, din ţinutul cetăţilor, părţile hotărîte de Lege preoţilor şi Leviţilor. Căci Iuda se bucura că preoţii şi Leviţii erau la locul lor,

On that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by law for the priests and the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who served.

45 p ăzind tot ce privea slujba lui Dumnezeu şi a curăţirilor. Cîntăreţii şi uşierii îşi împlineau şi ei slujbele, după rînduiala lui David şi a fiului său Solomon.

And they performed the due service of their God and of the purification; so did the singers and gatekeepers, as David and his son Solomon had commanded.

46 C ăci odinioară, pe vremea lui David şi lui Asaf, erau căpetenii peste cîntăreţi şi cîntări de laudă şi de mulţămire în cinstea lui Dumnezeu.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old, there was a chief of singers and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

47 T ot Israelul a dat pe vremea lui Zorobabel şi Neemia, părţile cuvenite cîntăreţilor şi uşierilor, zi de zi; au dat Leviţilor lucrurile sfinţite, iar Leviţii au dat fiilor lui Aaron lucrurile sfinţite cuvenite lor.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart what was for the Levites, and the Levites set apart what was for the sons of Aaron.
