For the divisions of the gatekeepers: Of the Korahites was: Meshelemiah son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

2 F iii lui Meşelemia: Zaharia, întîiul născut, Iediael, al doilea, Zebadia, al treilea, Iatniel, al patrulea.

And Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

3 E lam, al cincilea, Iohanan, al şaselea, Elioenai, al şaptelea.

Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.

4 F iii lui Obed-Edom. Şemaia, întîiul născut, Iozabad, al doilea, Ioah al treilea, Sacar al patrulea, Netaneel, al cincilea,

Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

5 A miel, al şaselea, Isahar al şaptelea, Peultai al optulea; căci Dumnezeu îl binecuvîntase.

Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth; for God blessed him.

6 F iului său Şemaia i s'au născut fii, cari au stăpînit în casa tatălui lor, căci erau oameni viteji;

Also to Shemaiah his son were sons born, who were rulers in their fathers’ houses, for they were mighty men of ability and courage.

7 f iii lui Şemaia: Otni, Refael, Obed, Elzabad şi fraţii săi, oameni viteji, Elihu şi Semaia.

The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose brethren were strong and able men, Elihu and Semachiah.

8 T oţi aceştia erau fiii lui Obed-Edom, ei, fiii şi fraţii lor; erau oameni plini de vlagă şi de putere pentru slujbă, şasezeci şi doi de ai lui Obed-Edom.

All these were sons of Obed-edom, with their sons and brethren, strong and able men for the service—sixty-two in all.

9 F iii şi fraţii lui Meşelemia, oameni viteji, erau în număr de optsprezece. -

Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong and able men—eighteen in all.

10 D in fiii lui Merari: Hosa, care avea ca fii pe: Şimri, căpetenia, pus căpetenie de tatăl său, măcar că nu era el întîiul născut:

Also Hosah, of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief (he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief),

11 H ilchia, al doilea; Tebalia, al treilea; Zaharia, al patrulea. Toţi fiii şi fraţii lui Hosa erau în număr de treisprezece.

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen in all.

12 A cestor cete de uşieri, căpeteniilor acestor oameni şi fraţilor lor, a fost încredinţată paza pentru slujba Casei Domnului.

Of these were the divisions of the gatekeepers, even of the chief men, having duties, as did their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.

13 A u tras la sorţ, pentru fiecare uşă, mici şi mari, după casele lor părinteşti.

And they cast lots by fathers’ houses, small and great alike, for every gate.

14 S orţul a căzut pe Şelemia pentru partea de răsărit. Au tras la sorţ pentru fiul său Zaharia, care era un sfetnic înţelept, şi i -a căzut la sorţ partea de miază-noapte.

The lot for the east fell to Shelemiah. They cast lots also for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, and his lot came out for the north.

15 P artea de miazăzi a căzut lui Obed-Edom, iar casa magaziilor a căzut fiilor săi.

To Obed-edom it came out for the south, and to his sons the storehouse was allotted.

16 P artea de apus a căzut lui Şupim şi lui Hosa, cu uşa Şalechet, pe drumul care suia sus: o strajă era în faţa alteia.

To Shuppim and Hosah the lot fell for the west, by the refuse gate that goes into the ascending highway, post opposite post.

17 L a răsărit erau şase Leviţi, la miazănoapte, patru pe zi, la miazăzi patru pe zi, şi patru la magazii, cîte doi în două locuri deosebite;

On the east were six Levites, on the north four a day, on the south four a day, and two by two at the storehouse.

18 s pre mahala, la apus: patru spre drum, doi spre mahala.

At the colonnade on the west side, there were four at the road and two at the colonnade.

19 A cestea sînt cetele uşierilor, dintre fiii Coreiţilor şi dintre fiii lui Merari.

These were the divisions of the gatekeepers among the Korahites and the sons of Merari.

20 U nul din Leviţi, Ahia, avea grija vistieriilor Casei lui Dumnezeu şi vistieriilor lucrurilor sfinte.

Of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the dedicated gifts.

21 D intre fiii lui Laedan, fiii Gherşoniţilor ieşiţi din Laedan, căpeteniile caselor părinteşti ale lui Laedan, Gherşonitul, erau: Iehieli,

The sons of Ladan, the descendants of Gershon through Ladan, the heads of families of Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli,

The sons of Jehieli, Zetham and Joel his brother, who were over the treasuries of the house of the Lord.

23 D intre Amramiţi, Iţehariţi, Hebroniţi şi Uzieliţi,

Of the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites:

24 e ra Şebuel, fiul lui Gherşom, fiul lui Moise, care îngrijea de vistierii.

Shebuel son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasuries.

25 D intre fraţii lui, ieşiţi din Eliezer, al cărui fiu a fost Rehabia, al cărui fiu a fost Isaia, al cărui fiu a fost Ioram, al cărui fiu a fost Zicri, al cărui fiu a fost Şelomit,

His brethren from Eliezer were his son Rehabiah, his son Jeshaiah, his son Joram, his son Zichri, and his son Shelomoth.

26 e rau Şelomit şi fraţii săi, cari păzeau toate vistieriile lucrurilor sfinte, pe cari le închinaseră împăratul David, capii caselor părinteşti, căpeteniile peste mii şi sute, şi căpeteniile oştirii: le închinaseră

This Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the dedicated gifts, which King David, the heads of the fathers’ houses, the officers over thousands and hundreds, and the commanders of the army had dedicated.

27 d in prada luată la război, pentru întreţinerea Casei Domnului.

From spoil won in battles they dedicated gifts to maintain the house of the Lord.

28 T ot ce fusese închinat de Samuel, văzătorul, de Saul, fiul lui Chis, de Abner, fiul lui Ner, de Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei, toate lucrurile închinate erau subt paza lui Şelomit şi a fraţilor săi.

Also all that Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, and whatever anyone had dedicated, it was in the charge of Shelomoth and his brethren.

29 D intre Iţehariţi: Chenania şi fraţii săi erau întrebuinţaţi pentru treburile de afară, ca dregători şi judecători în Israel.

Of the Izharites: Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to outside duties for Israel, as officers and judges.

30 D intre Hebroniţi: Haşabia şi fraţii săi, oameni viteji, în număr de o mie şapte sute, aveau privigherea asupra lui Israel, dincoace de Iordan, la apus, pentru toate treburile Domnului şi pentru slujba împăratului.

Of the Hebronites: Hashabiah and his brethren, men of courage and ability, 1, 700 in all, were officers over Israel on the west side of the Jordan in all the Lord’s business and the king’s service.

31 Î n ce priveşte pe Hebroniţi, a căror căpetenie era Ieria, s'au făcut, în al patruzecilea an al domniei lui David, cercetări cu privire la ei, după spiţele lor de neam, şi după casele lor părinteşti, şi s'au găsit între ei la Iaezer în Galaad oameni viteji.

Of the Hebronites: Jerijah was the chief, according to their generations by fathers’ houses. In the fortieth year of David’s reign a search was made, and men of great courage and ability were found among them at Jazer in Gilead.

32 F raţii lui Ieria, oameni viteji, erau în număr de două mii şapte sute capi de case părinteşti. Împăratul David i -a pus peste Rubeniţi, peste Gadiţi şi peste jumătatea seminţiei lui Manase, pentru toate treburile lui Dumnezeu şi pentru treburile împăratului.

Jerijah’s kinsmen, men of courage and ability, were 2, 700 heads of fathers’ houses; King David made them overseers of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, for everything pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king.
