1 T he word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Слово, що його бачив Ісая, син Амосів, про Юдею та про Єрусалим:

2 N ow it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord ’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.

І станеться на кінці днів, міцно поставлена буде гора дому Господнього на шпилі гір, і піднята буде вона понад згір'я, і полинуть до неї всі люди.

3 M any people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

І підуть численні народи та й скажуть: Ходіть та зберімось на гору Господню, до дому Бога Якового, і доріг Своїх Він нас навчить, і ми підемо стежками Його! Бо вийде з Сіону Закон, і слово Господнє з Єрусалиму.

4 H e shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. The Day of the Lord

І Він буде судити між людьми, і буде численні народи розсуджувати. І мечі свої перекують вони на лемеші, а списи свої на серпи. Не підійме меча народ проти народу, і більше не будуть навчатись війни!

5 O house of Jacob, come and let us walk In the light of the Lord.

Доме Яковів, ідіть, і попростуємо в світлі Господньому!

6 F or You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, Because they are filled with eastern ways; They are soothsayers like the Philistines, And they are pleased with the children of foreigners.

Бо Ти був покинув народа Свого, дім Яковів, бо повні безладдя зо сходу вони, та ворожбитів, немов филистимляни, і накладають із дітьми чужинців.

7 T heir land is also full of silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures; Their land is also full of horses, And there is no end to their chariots.

І наповнився край його сріблом та золотом, і немає кінця його скарбам. І наповнився край його кіньми, і немає кінця колесницям його.

8 T heir land is also full of idols; They worship the work of their own hands, That which their own fingers have made.

І наповнився край його ідолами, він кланяється ділу рук своїх, тому, що зробили були його пальці,

9 P eople bow down, And each man humbles himself; Therefore do not forgive them.

і поклонилась людина, і чоловік упокорився... А Ти їм не даруй!

10 E nter into the rock, and hide in the dust, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty.

Іди в скелю, і сховайся у порох від страху Господнього, і від пишноти Його величі!

11 T he lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Горді очі людини поникнуть, і буде обнижена людська високість, і буде високим Сам тільки Господь того дня!

12 F or the day of the Lord of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up— And it shall be brought low—

Бо настане день Господа Саваота на все горде й високе, і на все висунене, і понижене буде воно,

13 U pon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, And upon all the oaks of Bashan;

і на всі кедри ливанські, високі та висунені, і на всілякі башанські дуби,

14 U pon all the high mountains, And upon all the hills that are lifted up;

і на всі гори високі, і на всі згір'я піднесені,

15 U pon every high tower, And upon every fortified wall;

і на всі башти високі, і на всі мури стрімкі,

16 U pon all the ships of Tarshish, And upon all the beautiful sloops.

і на всі кораблі із Таршішу, і на все, на що дивимося пожадливо!

17 T he loftiness of man shall be bowed down, And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; The Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

І понизиться гордість людини, й обнижена буде високість людей, і буде високим Сам тільки Господь того дня,

18 B ut the idols He shall utterly abolish.

а божища зовсім минуться!

19 T hey shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the earth, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.

І вони підуть до скельних печер та до пороху в ями від страху Господнього і від пишноти Його величі, коли прийде Він острах збудити на землі!

20 I n that day a man will cast away his idols of silver And his idols of gold, Which they made, each for himself to worship, To the moles and bats,

Покине людина того дня божків своїх срібних і божків своїх золотих, що собі наробила була, щоб вклонятись кротам і кажанам,

21 T o go into the clefts of the rocks, And into the crags of the rugged rocks, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.

щоб піти у печери й розщілини скельні від страху Господнього і від слави величчя Його, коли прийде Він острах збудити на землі!

22 S ever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

Відкинься ж собі від людини, що віддих у носі її, бо защо її поважати?
