1 T here were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

Того часу прийшли були дехто, та й розповіли Йому про галілеян, що їхню кров Пилат змішав був із їхніми жертвами.

2 A nd Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?

Ісус же сказав їм у відповідь: Чи ви думаєте, що оці галілеяни, що так постраждали, грішніші були від усіх галілеян?

3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

Ні, кажу вам; та коли не покаєтеся, то загинете всі так!

4 O r those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?

Або ті вісімнадцять, що башта на них завалилась була в Сілоамі й побила їх, чи думаєте, що ті винні були більш за всіх, що в Єрусалимі живуть?

5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

Ні, кажу вам; та коли не покаєтеся, то загинете всі так!

6 H e also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.

І Він розповів оцю притчу: Один чоловік у своїм винограднику мав посаджене фіґове дерево. І прийшов він шукати на ньому плоду, але не знайшов.

7 T hen he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’

І сказав винареві: Оце третій рік, відколи приходжу шукати плоду на цім фіґовім дереві, але не знаходжу; зрубай його, нащо й землю марнує воно?

8 B ut he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

А той йому в відповідь каже: Позостав його, пане, і на цей рік, аж поки його обкопаю довкола, і обкладу його гноєм,

9 A nd if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’” A Spirit of Infirmity

чи року наступного плоду не вродить воно. Коли ж ні, то зрубаєш його.

10 N ow He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

І навчав Він в одній з синагог у суботу.

11 A nd behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.

І ось там була одна жінка, що вісімнадцять років мала духа немочі, і була скорчена, і не могла ніяк випростатись.

12 B ut when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”

А Ісус, як побачив її, то покликав до Себе. І сказав їй: Жінко, звільнена ти від недуги своєї.

13 A nd He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

І Він руки на неї поклав, і вона зараз випросталась, і стала славити Бога!

14 B ut the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”

Озвався ж старший синагоги, обурений, що Ісус уздоровив у суботу, і сказав до народу: Є шість день, коли працювати належить, приходьте тоді та вздоровлюйтеся, а не дня суботнього.

15 T he Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?

А Господь відповів і промовив до нього: Лицеміре, хіба ж не відв'язує кожен із вас у суботу свого вола чи осла від ясел, і не веде напоїти?

16 S o ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

Чи ж цю дочку Авраамову, яку сатана був зв'язав вісімнадцять ось років, не належить звільнити її суботнього дня від цих пут?

17 A nd when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him. The Parable of the Mustard Seed

А як Він говорив це, засоромилися всі Його супротивники. І тішився ввесь народ всіма славними вчинками, які Він чинив!

18 T hen He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?

Він же промовив: До чого подібне Царство Боже, і до чого його прирівняю?

19 I t is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.” The Parable of the Leaven

Подібне воно до гірчичного зерна, що взяв чоловік і посіяв його в своїм саді. І воно виросло, і деревом стало, і кублилось птаство небесне на віттях його.

20 A nd again He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?

І знову сказав Він: Із чим порівняю Я Божеє Царство?

21 I t is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” The Narrow Way

Подібне до розчини, що її бере жінка, і кладе на три мірки муки, аж поки все вкисне.

22 A nd He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

І проходив містами та селами Він і навчав, до Єрусалиму простуючи.

23 T hen one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them,

І озвався до Нього один: Господи, хіба буде мало спасених? А Він відказав їм:

24 “ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

Силкуйтеся ввійти тісними ворітьми, бо кажу вам, багато-хто будуть намагатися ввійти, та не зможуть!

25 W hen once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’

Як устане Господар та двері замкне, ви зачнете вистоювати ізнадвору, та стукати в двері й казати: Господи, відчини нам! А Він вам у відповідь скаже: Не знаю Я вас, звідки ви!

26 t hen you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’

Тоді станете ви говорити: Ми їли й пили перед Тобою і на вулицях наших навчав Ти...

27 B ut He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’

А Він вам відкаже: Говорю вам, не знаю Я, звідки ви. Відійдіть від Мене всі, хто чинить неправду!

28 T here will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.

Буде плач там і скрегіт зубів, як побачите ви Авраама, та Ісака та Якова, та пророків усіх в Царстві Божім, себе ж вигнаних геть...

29 T hey will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.

І прийдуть інші від сходу й заходу, і півночі й півдня, і при столі в Царстві Божім засядуть!

30 A nd indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

І ось, є останні, що стануть за перших, і є перші, що стануть останніми!

31 O n that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You.”

Тієї години підійшли дехто з фарисеїв, і сказали Йому: Вийди собі, і піди звідси, хоче бо Ірод убити Тебе...

32 A nd He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’

А Він відказав їм: Ідіть і скажіть тому лисові: Ось демонів Я виганяю, і чиню вздоровлення, сьогодні та взавтра, а третього дня закінчу.

33 N evertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem. Jesus Laments over Jerusalem

Однак, Мені треба ходити сьогодні та взавтра, і часу найближчого, бо згинути не може пророк поза Єрусалимом.

34 “ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

Єрусалиме, Єрусалиме, що вбиваєш пророків та каменуєш посланих до тебе! Скільки раз Я хотів позбирати дітей твоїх, як та квочка збирає під крила курчаток своїх, та ви не захотіли!

35 S ee! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”

Ось ваш дім зостається порожній для вас! Говорю бо Я вам: Ви мене не побачите, аж поки не настане, що скажете: Благословенний, Хто йде в Господнє Ім'я!
