1 A nd when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

І закликав Він дванадцятьох Своїх учнів, і владу їм дав над нечистими духами, щоб їх виганяли вони, і щоб уздоровляли всіляку недугу та неміч всіляку.

2 N ow the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

А ймення апостолів дванадцятьох отакі: перший Симон, що Петром прозивається, і Андрій, брат його; Яків, син Зеведеїв, та Іван, брат його;

3 P hilip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

Пилип і Варфоломій, Хома й митник Матвій; Яків, син Алфеїв, і Тадей;

4 S imon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. Sending Out the Twelve

Симон Кананіт, та Юда Іскаріотський, що й видав Його.

5 T hese twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.

Цих Дванадцятьох Ісус вислав, і їм наказав, промовляючи: На путь до поган не ходіть, і до самарянського міста не входьте,

6 B ut go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

але йдіть радніш до овечок загинулих дому Ізраїлевого.

7 A nd as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

А ходячи, проповідуйте та говоріть, що наблизилось Царство Небесне.

8 H eal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Уздоровляйте недужих, воскрешайте померлих, очищайте прокажених, виганяйте демонів. Ви дармо дістали, дармо й давайте.

9 P rovide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,

Не беріть ані золота, ані срібла, ані мідяків до своїх поясів,

10 n or bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.

ані торби в дорогу, ані двох одеж, ні сандаль, ані палиці. Бо вартий робітник своєї поживи.

11 “ Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out.

А як зайдете в місто якесь чи в село, то розвідайте, хто там достойний, і там перебудьте, аж поки не вийдете.

12 A nd when you go into a household, greet it.

А входячи в дім, вітайте його, промовляючи: Мир дому цьому!

13 I f the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

І коли буде достойний той дім, нехай зійде на нього ваш мир; а як недостойний він буде, то мир ваш нехай до вас вернеться.

14 A nd whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

А як хто вас не прийме, і ваших слів не послухає, то, виходячи з дому чи з міста того, обтрусіть порох із ніг своїх.

15 A ssuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! Persecutions Are Coming

Поправді кажу вам: легше буде країні содомській й гоморській дня судного, аніж місту тому!

16 “ Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Оце посилаю Я вас, як овець між вовки. Будьте ж мудрі, як змії, і невинні, як голубки.

17 B ut beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.

Стережіться ж людей, бо вони на суди видаватимуть вас, та по синагогах своїх бичувати вас будуть.

18 Y ou will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

І до правителів та до царів поведуть вас за Мене, на свідчення їм і поганам.

19 B ut when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;

А коли видаватимуть вас, не журіться, як або що говорити: тієї години буде вам дане, що маєте ви говорити,

20 f or it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

бо не ви промовлятимете, але Дух Отця вашого в вас промовлятиме.

21 “ Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

І видасть на смерть брата брат, а батько дитину. І діти повстануть супроти батьків, і їх повбивають.

22 A nd you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

І за Ім'я Моє будуть усі вас ненавидіти. А хто витерпить аж до кінця, той буде спасений.

23 W hen they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

А коли будуть вас переслідувати в однім місті, утікайте до іншого. Поправді кажу вам, не встигнете ви обійти міст Ізраїлевих, як прийде Син Людський.

24 “ A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

Учень не більший за вчителя, а раб понад пана свого.

25 I t is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!

Доволі для учня, коли буде він, як учитель його, а раб як господар його. Коли Вельзевулом назвали господаря дому, скільки ж більше назвуть так домашніх його!

26 T herefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Jesus Teaches the Fear of God

Але не лякайтеся їх. Немає нічого захованого, що воно не відкриється, ані потаємного, що не виявиться.

27 “ Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.

Що кажу Я вам потемки, говоріть те при світлі, що ж на вухо ви чуєте проповідуйте те на дахах.

28 A nd do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

І не лякайтеся тих, хто тіло вбиває, а душі вбити не може; але бійтеся більше того, хто може й душу, і тіло вам занапастити в геєнні.

29 A re not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

Чи не два горобці продаються за гріш? А на землю із них ні один не впаде без волі Отця вашого.

30 B ut the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

А вам і волосся все на голові пораховано.

31 D o not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Confess Christ Before Men

Отож, не лякайтесь, бо вартніші ви за багатьох горобців.

32 “ Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

Отже, кожного, хто Мене визнає перед людьми, того перед Небесним Отцем Моїм визнаю й Я.

33 B ut whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Christ Brings Division

Хто ж Мене відцурається перед людьми, того й Я відцураюся перед Небесним Отцем Моїм.

34 “ Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

Не думайте, що Я прийшов, щоб мир на землю принести, Я не мир принести прийшов, а меча.

35 F or I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;

Я ж прийшов порізнити чоловіка з батьком його, дочку з її матір'ю, і невістку з свекрухою її.

36 a nd ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

І: вороги чоловікові домашні його!

37 H e who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

Хто більш, як Мене, любить батька чи матір, той Мене недостойний. І хто більш, як Мене, любить сина чи дочку, той Мене недостойний.

38 A nd he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

І хто не візьме свого хреста, і не піде за Мною слідом, той Мене недостойний.

39 H e who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. A Cup of Cold Water

Хто душу свою зберігає, той погубить її, хто ж за Мене погубить душу свою, той знайде її.

40 “ He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

Хто вас приймає приймає Мене, хто ж приймає Мене, приймає Того, Хто послав Мене.

41 H e who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Хто приймає пророка, як пророка, той дістане нагороду пророчу, хто ж приймає праведника, як праведника, той дістане нагороду праведничу.

42 A nd whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

І хто напоїть, як учня, кого з малих цих бодай кухлем водиці холодної, поправді кажу вам, той не згубить нагороди своєї.
