1 N ow the Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered profane fire before the Lord, and died;

І Господь промовляв до Мойсея по смерті обох Ааронових синів, коли вони були наблизилися перед Господнє лице і померли.

2 a nd the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.

І сказав Господь до Мойсея: Промовляй до Аарона, брата свого, і нехай він не входить кожного часу до святині за завісу, перед віко, що на ковчезі, щоб не вмер він, бо Я в хмарі являюся над тим віком.

3 “ Thus Aaron shall come into the Holy Place: with the blood of a young bull as a sin offering, and of a ram as a burnt offering.

З оцим увійде Аарон до святині, з телям на жертву за гріх та з бараном на цілопалення.

4 H e shall put the holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his body; he shall be girded with a linen sash, and with the linen turban he shall be attired. These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water, and put them on.

Він зодягне священного льняного хітона, і льняна спідня одіж буде на тілі його, і підпережеться льняним поясом, і обвинеться льняним завоєм, вони священні шати. І обмиє в воді своє тіло, та й зодягне він їх.

5 A nd he shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats as a sin offering, and one ram as a burnt offering.

А від громади Ізраїлевих синів візьме він два козли на жертву за гріх та одного барана на цілопалення.

6 “ Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

І принесе Аарон теля жертви за гріх, що належить йому, та й очистить себе та свій дім.

7 H e shall take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

І візьме він обох тих козлів, та й поставить їх перед Господнім лицем при вході скинії заповіту.

8 T hen Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat.

І кине Аарон на обох тих козлів жеребки, один жеребок для Господа, і один жеребок для Азазеля.

9 A nd Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord ’s lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering.

І принесе Аарон козла, що на нього вийшов жеребок для Господа, і вчинить його жертвою за гріх.

10 B ut the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

А козел, що на нього випав жеребок для Азазеля, буде поставлений живим перед Господнє лице, щоб очистити його, і щоб послати його до Азазеля на пустиню.

11 “ And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering which is for himself.

І принесе Аарон бичка жертви за гріх, що належить йому, та й очистить себе та свій дім; і заріже бичка жертви за гріх, що належить йому.

12 T hen he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.

І візьме повну кадильницю горючого вугілля з-над жертівника перед Господнім лицем, і повні жмені свої тонко товченого запашного кадила, та й внесе за завісу.

13 A nd he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.

І покладе він те кадило на огонь перед Господнім лицем, а хмара кадила закриє віко, що над свідоцтвом, щоб він не помер.

14 H e shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

І візьме він крови бичка, та й покропить пальцем своїм на переді віка на схід, а перед віком покропить з крови сім раз своїм пальцем.

15 “ Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.

І заріже козла жертви за гріх, що належить народові, і внесе його кров за завісу, та й зробить із кров'ю його, як зробив був із кров'ю теляти, і покропить її на віко та перед віком.

16 S o he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and so he shall do for the tabernacle of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

І очистить він святиню з нечистости Ізраїлевих синів та з їхніх переступів через усі гріхи їхні. І так він зробить для скинії заповіту, що знаходиться з ними серед їхньої нечистости.

17 T here shall be no man in the tabernacle of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, that he may make atonement for himself, for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

І жоден чоловік не буде в скинії заповіту, коли він входить на очищення до святині, аж до виходу його. І очистить він себе та дім свій, та всю громаду Ізраїлеву.

18 A nd he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord, and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

І вийде він до жертівника, що перед Господнім лицем, та й очистить його; і візьме крови теляти й крови козла, та й дасть на роги жертівника навколо.

19 T hen he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

І покропить на нього з крови пальцем своїм сім раз, та й очистить його, та освятить його від нечистости Ізраїлевих синів.

20 “ And when he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place, the tabernacle of meeting, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat.

А коли він скінчить очищення святині й скинії заповіту та жертівника, то приведе живого козла.

21 A aron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man.

І покладе Аарон обидві руки свої на голову живого козла, і визнає над ним усі гріхи Ізраїлевих синів та всі їхні провини через усі їхні гріхи, і складе їх на голову козла, та й пошле через призначеного чоловіка на пустиню.

22 T he goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

І понесе той козел на собі всі їхні гріхи до краю неврожайного, і пустить того козла в пустиню.

23 “ Then Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of meeting, shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.

І ввійде Аарон до скинії заповіту, і здійме льняні шати, що зодягнув був при вході його до святині, і покладе їх там.

24 A nd he shall wash his body with water in a holy place, put on his garments, come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

І обмиє він тіло своє в воді в місці святім, і зодягне шати свої та й вийде, і вчинить цілопалення своє та цілопалення за народ, і очистить себе та народ.

25 T he fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.

А лій жертви за гріх спалить на жертівнику.

26 A nd he who released the goat as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.

А той, хто відводив козла до Азазеля, випере одежу свою й обмиє тіло своє в воді, а потому ввійде до табору.

27 T he bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp. And they shall burn in the fire their skins, their flesh, and their offal.

А теля жертви за гріх та козла жертви за гріх, що їхню кров внесено на очищення в святині, випровадять поза табір, та й спалять в огні їхні шкури, і їхнє м'ясо та їхні нечистости.

28 T hen he who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.

А той, хто їх палить, випере одежу свою й обмиє своє тіло в воді, а потому ввійде до табору.

29 “ This shall be a statute forever for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.

І це стане для вас на вічну постанову, сьомого місяця, десятого дня місяця будете впокоряти ваші душі, і жодної праці не робитимете ви, ані тубілець, ані приходько, що мешкає серед вас,

30 F or on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

бо того дня буде окуп ваш на очищення ваше, зо всіх гріхів ваших станете чисті перед Господом.

31 I t is a sabbath of solemn rest for you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever.

Субота повного відпочинку від праці вона для вас, і ви будете впокоряти душі свої, це вічна постанова.

32 A nd the priest, who is anointed and consecrated to minister as priest in his father’s place, shall make atonement, and put on the linen clothes, the holy garments;

А очистить той священик, що помазали його, і що посвятили його бути священиком замість батька свого. І зодягне він льняні шати, шати священні,

33 t hen he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tabernacle of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

та й очистить Святеє Святих, і скинію заповіту, і жертівника очистить, і очистить священиків та ввесь народ громади.

34 T his shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.

І буде це для вас на вічну постанову на очищення Ізраїлевих синів зо всіх їхніх гріхів раз у році. І він учинив, як Господь наказав був Мойсеєві.
