1 А в дванадесетия месец, който е месец Адар, на тринадесетия ден от същия, когато наближаваше времето да бъде изпълнена царската заповед и указ, в деня, когато неприятелите на юдеите се надяваха да им станат господари (но стана обратното, че юдеите станаха господари на онези, които ги мразеха),

Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the month, when the king’s commandment and his decree came near to be put in execution, on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to conquer them, (but it was turned out the opposite happened, that the Jews conquered those who hated them),

2 ю деите се събраха в градовете си по всички области на цар Асуир, за да сложат ръка на онези, които биха искали злото им; и никой не можа да им противостои, защото страх от тях обзе всички племена.

the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus, to lay hands on those who wanted to harm them. No one could withstand them, because the fear of them had fallen on all the people.

3 И всички първенци на областите и сатрапите, областните управители и царските надзиратели помагаха на юдеите; защото ги обзе страх от Мардохей.

All the princes of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and those who did the king’s business helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai had fallen on them.

4 П онеже Мардохей беше големец в царския двор и славата му се разнесе по всички области; защото човекът Мардохей ставаше все по-велик и по-велик.

For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces; for the man Mordecai grew greater and greater.

5 И юдеите поразиха всичките си неприятели с удар от меч, с убиване и с погубване и направиха каквото искаха на онези, които ги мразеха.

The Jews struck all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they wanted to those who hated them.

6 В столицата Суса юдеите избиха и погубиха петстотин мъже.

In the citadel of Susa, the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men.

7 У биха и Фарсандат, Далфон, Аспата,

They killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,

8 П орат, Адалий, Аридат,

Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha,

9 Ф армаст, Арисай, Аридай и Ваезет,

Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vaizatha,

10 д есетте синове на неприятеля на юдеите Аман, Амидатовия син; на имот обаче ръка не сложиха.

the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew’s enemy, but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

11 Н а същия ден, като доложиха пред царя броя на избитите в столицата Суса,

On that day, the number of those who were slain in the citadel of Susa was brought before the king.

12 ц арят каза на царица Естир: В столицата Суса юдеите са избили и погубили петстотин мъже и десетте Аманови синове; какво ли са направили и в другите царски области? Сега какво е желанието ти? И ще ти бъде удовлетворено. А какво е още прошението ти? И ще бъде изпълнено.

The king said to Esther the queen, “The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in the citadel of Susa, including the ten sons of Haman; what then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces! Now what is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your further request? It shall be done.”

13 Е стир отвърна: Ако е угодно на царя, нека бъде разрешено на юдеите, които са в Суса, да направят и утре според указа за днес и да обесят на бесилка десетте Аманови синове.

Then Esther said, “If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do tomorrow also according to today’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged on the gallows.”

14 И царят заповяда да стане така; и бе издаден указ в Суса и обесиха десетте Аманови синове.

The king commanded this to be done. A decree was given out in Shushan; and they hanged Haman’s ten sons.

15 И така, юдеите, които бяха в Суса, се събраха и на четиринадесетия ден от месец Адар и избиха триста мъже в Суса; на имот обаче ръка не сложиха.

The Jews who were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and killed three hundred men in Shushan; but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

16 А другите юдеи, които бяха по царските области, се събраха и стояха за живота си, и се успокоиха от неприятелите си, като избиха от онези, които ги мразеха, седемдесет и пет хиляди души; на имот обаче ръка не сложиха. Празникът на Пурим

The other Jews who were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, defended their lives, had rest from their enemies, and killed seventy-five thousand of those who hated them; but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

17 Т ова стана на тринадесетия ден от месец Адар; а на четиринадесетия ден от същия си почиваха и го направиха ден за пируване и увеселение.

This was done on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of that month they rested and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

18 Н о юдеите, които бяха в Суса, се събраха и на тринадесетия, и на четиринадесетия му ден; а на петнадесетия от същия си почиваха и го направиха ден за пируване и увеселение.

But the Jews who were in Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth days of the month; and on the fifteenth day of that month, they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

19 Е то защо юдеите селяни, които живеят в градове без стени, правят четиринадесетия ден от месец Адар ден за увеселение и за пируване и добър ден, и ден за пращане подаръци едни на други.

Therefore the Jews of the villages, who live in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, a good day, and a day of sending presents of food to one another.

20 Т огава Мардохей, като описа тези събития, прати писма до всички юдеи, които бяха по всички области на цар Асуир, до близките и до далечните,

Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both near and far,

21 с които им заръча да пазят всяка година и четиринадесетия ден от месец Адар, и петнадесетия от същия,

to enjoin them that they should keep the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month Adar yearly,

22 к ато дни, в които юдеите се успокоиха от неприятелите си, и месеца, в който скръбта им се превърна в радост и плачът им в добър ден, за да ги правят дни за пируване и увеселение и за пращане подаръци едни на други и милостиня на сиромасите.

as the days in which the Jews had rest from their enemies, and the month which was turned to them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a good day; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, and of sending presents of food to one another, and gifts to the needy.

23 И юдеите предприеха да правят, както бяха почнали и както Мардохей им беше писал,

The Jews accepted the custom that they had begun, as Mordecai had written to them;

24 п о причина, че агагецът Аман, син на Амидат, неприятелят на всички юдеи, беше се изхитрил против юдеите да ги погуби и беше хвърлил пур (т. е. жребий) да ги погуби и да ги изтреби;

because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast “Pur”, that is the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;

25 к огато обаче Естир дойде пред царя, той с писма заповяда да се върне върху неговата глава замисленото зло, което беше наредил с хитрост против юдеите, и да бъдат обесени на бесилката той и синовете му.

but when this became known to the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

26 З атова нарекоха онези дни Пурим, от името пур. Затова поради всички думи на това писмо и поради онова, което бяха опитали в това събитие и което им се беше случило,

Therefore they called these days “Purim”, from the word “Pur.” Therefore because of all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and that which had come to them,

27 ю деите постановиха и възприеха за себе си и за потомството си, и за всички, които биха се присъединили към тях, непрестанно да пазят тези два дни според предписаното от тях и във времето им всяка година;

the Jews established, and imposed on themselves, and on their descendants, and on all those who joined themselves to them, so that it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to what was written, and according to its appointed time, every year;

28 и тези дни да се помнят и да се пазят във всеки век и във всеки род, във всяка област и във всеки град; и тези дни Пурим да не се изоставят от юдеите, нито да изчезне споменът им между потомството им.

and that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor their memory perish from their offspring,

29 Т огава царица Естир, дъщеря на Авихаил, и юдеинът Мардохей писаха втори път, като наблегнаха, за да утвърдят написаното за Пурим.

Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority to confirm this second letter of Purim.

30 П ри това Мардохей прати писма с думи на мир и искреност до всички юдеи в сто двадесет и седемте области на Асуировото царство,

He sent letters to all the Jews, to the hundred twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,

31 з а да утвърди тези дни Пурим във времената им, според както юдеинът Мардохей и царица Естир им бяха заповядали и както бяха постановили за себе си и за потомството си, в спомен за постите и плача си.

to confirm these days of Purim in their appointed times, as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had decreed, and as they had imposed upon themselves and their descendants, in the matter of the fastings and their cry.

32 И тази наредба за Пурим бе потвърдена със заповедта на Естир; и бе записана в книгата.

The commandment of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
