1 I looked up again and saw four war-wagons coming out from between the two mountains. The mountains were made of brass.

Je levai de nouveau les yeux et je regardai, et voici, quatre chars sortaient d'entre deux montagnes; et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain.

2 T he first war-wagon had red horses. The second war-wagon had black horses.

Au premier char il y avait des chevaux roux, au second char des chevaux noirs,

3 T he third war-wagon had white horses, and the fourth war-wagon had strong horses with spots.

au troisième char des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés, rouges.

4 T hen I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”

Je pris la parole et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: Qu'est-ce, mon seigneur?

5 T he angel said to me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, going away from standing before the Lord of All the earth.

L'ange me répondit: Ce sont les quatre vents des cieux, qui sortent du lieu où ils se tenaient devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.

6 T he war-wagon with the black horses is going toward the north country. The white ones follow them. And the horses with spots go toward the south country.

Les chevaux noirs attelés à l'un des chars se dirigent vers le pays du septentrion, et les blancs vont après eux; les tachetés se dirigent vers le pays du midi.

7 W hen the strong horses went out, they were in a hurry to look over all the earth.” And he said, “Go, look over all the earth.” So they went over the whole earth.

Les rouges sortent et demandent à aller parcourir la terre. L'ange leur dit: Allez, parcourez la terre! Et ils parcoururent la terre.

8 T hen he called to me, “See, those who are going to the land of the north have given My Spirit rest in the north country.” The Crown on Joshua

Il m'appela, et il me dit: Vois, ceux qui se dirigent vers le pays du septentrion font reposer ma colère sur le pays du septentrion.

9 T he Word of the Lord came to me saying,

La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

10 “ Take the gifts from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have returned from Babylon. And go the same day to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.

Tu recevras les dons des captifs, Heldaï, Tobija et Jedaeja, et tu iras toi-même ce jour-là, tu iras dans la maison de Josias, fils de Sophonie, où ils se sont rendus en arrivant de Babylone.

11 T ake the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the head religious leader.

Tu prendras de l'argent et de l'or, et tu en feras des couronnes, que tu mettras sur la tête de Josué, fils de Jotsadak, le souverain sacrificateur.

12 T hen tell him, ‘The Lord of All says, “See, the man whose name is the Branch, for He will branch out from where He is. And He will build the house of the Lord.

Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Voici, un homme, dont le nom est germe, germera dans son lieu, et bâtira le temple de l'Éternel.

13 Y es, He is the One Who will build the house of the Lord. He will be honored as King, and sit and rule on His throne. And He will be a religious leader on His throne, and there will be peace between the two.”’

Il bâtira le temple de l'Éternel; il portera les insignes de la majesté; il s'assiéra et dominera sur son trône, il sera sacrificateur sur son trône, et une parfaite union régnera entre l'un et l'autre.

14 T he crown will be in the Lord’s house, that people may remember Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen the son of Zephaniah.

Les couronnes seront pour Hélem, Tobija et Jedaeja, et pour Hen, fils de Sophonie, un souvenir dans le temple de l'Éternel.

15 T hose who are far away will come to build the house of the Lord. Then you will know that the Lord of All has sent me to you. This will happen if you are careful to obey the Lord your God.”

Ceux qui sont éloignés viendront et travailleront au temple de l'Éternel; et vous saurez que l'Éternel des armées m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela arrivera, si vous écoutez la voix de l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
