1 N ow He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,

Jesús les contó una parábola para enseñar les que ellos debían orar en todo tiempo, y no desfallecer:

2 s aying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.

“Había en cierta ciudad un juez que ni temía a Dios ni respetaba a hombre alguno.

3 T here was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘ Give me legal protection from my opponent.’

También había en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él constantemente, diciendo: ‘Hágame usted justicia de mi adversario.’

4 F or a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,

Por algún tiempo el juez no quiso, pero después dijo para sí: ‘Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni respeto a hombre alguno,

5 y et because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’”

sin embargo, porque esta viuda me molesta, le haré justicia; no sea que por venir continuamente me agote la paciencia.’”

6 A nd the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge said;

El Señor dijo: “Escuchen lo que dijo el juez injusto.

7 n ow, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?

¿Y no hará Dios justicia a Sus escogidos, que claman a El día y noche? ¿Se tardará mucho en responderles?

8 I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” The Pharisee and the Publican

Les digo que pronto les hará justicia. No obstante, cuando el Hijo del Hombre venga, ¿hallará fe en la tierra?” Parábola del Fariseo y el Publicano

9 A nd He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:

Dijo también Jesús esta parábola a unos que confiaban en sí mismos como justos, y despreciaban a los demás:

10 “ Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

“Dos hombres subieron al templo a orar; uno era Fariseo y el otro recaudador de impuestos.

11 T he Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

El Fariseo puesto en pie, oraba para sí de esta manera: ‘Dios, te doy gracias porque no soy como los demás hombres: estafadores, injustos, adúlteros; ni aun como este recaudador de impuestos.

12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’

Yo ayuno dos veces por semana; doy el diezmo de todo lo que gano.’

13 B ut the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’

Pero el recaudador de impuestos, de pie y a cierta distancia, no quería ni siquiera alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que se golpeaba el pecho, diciendo: ‘Dios, ten piedad de mí, pecador.’

14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Les digo que éste descendió a su casa justificado pero aquél no; porque todo el que se engrandece será humillado, pero el que se humilla será engrandecido.” Jesús y los Niños

15 A nd they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them.

Y traían a Jesús aun a los niños muy pequeños para que los tocara. Al ver esto los discípulos, los reprendían.

16 B ut Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Pero Jesús, llamándolos a su lado, dijo: “Dejen que los niños vengan a Mí, y no se lo impidan, porque de los que son como éstos es el reino de Dios.

17 T ruly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” The Rich Young Ruler

En verdad les digo, que el que no recibe el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.” El Joven Rico

18 A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Cierto hombre prominente Le preguntó a Jesús: “Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna?”

19 A nd Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.

Jesús le respondió: “¿Por qué Me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino sólo uno, Dios.

20 Y ou know the commandments, ‘ Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’”

Tú sabes los mandamientos: ‘ No cometas adulterio, No mates, No hurtes, No des falso testimonio, Honra a tu padre y a tu madre.’”

21 A nd he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”

“Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud,” dijo el hombre.

22 W hen Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Cuando Jesús oyó esto, le dijo: “Te falta todavía una cosa; vende todo lo que tienes y reparte entre los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en los cielos; y ven, sígueme.”

23 B ut when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.

Pero al oír esto, se puso muy triste, pues era sumamente rico.

24 A nd Jesus looked at him and said, “ How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!

Mirándolo Jesús, dijo: “¡Qué difícil es que entren en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!

25 F or it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Porque es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios.”

26 T hey who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”

Los que oyeron esto, dijeron: “¿Y quién podrá salvarse?”

27 B ut He said, “ The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”

“Lo imposible para los hombres es posible para Dios,” respondió Jesús.

28 P eter said, “Behold, we have left our own homes and followed You.”

Y Pedro dijo: “Nosotros hemos dejado todo y Te hemos seguido.”

29 A nd He said to them, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,

Entonces El les contestó: “En verdad les digo, que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o mujer, o hermanos, o padres o hijos por la causa del reino de Dios,

30 w ho will not receive many times as much at this time and in the age to come, eternal life.”

que no reciba muchas veces más en este tiempo, y en el siglo venidero, la vida eterna.” Jesús Anuncia Su Muerte por Tercera Vez

31 T hen He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.

Tomando aparte a los doce discípulos, Jesús les dijo: “Miren, subimos a Jerusalén, y se cumplirán todas las cosas que están escritas por medio de los profetas acerca del Hijo del Hombre.

32 F or He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and mistreated and spit upon,

Pues será entregado a los Gentiles, y será objeto de burla, afrentado y escupido;

33 a nd after they have scourged Him, they will kill Him; and the third day He will rise again.”

y Lo azotarán, y después Lo matarán, y al tercer día resucitará.”

34 B ut the disciples understood none of these things, and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said. Bartimaeus Receives Sight

Pero ellos no comprendieron nada de esto. Este dicho les estaba encubierto, y no entendían lo que se les decía. Curación de un Ciego

35 A s Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.

Aconteció que al acercarse Jesús a Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando.

36 N ow hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was.

Al oír que pasaba una multitud, preguntaba qué era aquello.

37 T hey told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

Y le informaron que pasaba Jesús de Nazaret.

38 A nd he called out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Entonces gritó: “¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!”

39 T hose who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, “ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Y los que iban delante lo reprendían para que se callara, pero él gritaba mucho más: “¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!”

40 A nd Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he came near, He questioned him,

Jesús se detuvo y ordenó que lo trajeran; y cuando estuvo cerca, le preguntó:

41 “ What do you want Me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!”

“¿Qué deseas que haga por ti?” “Señor, que recobre la vista,” contestó el ciego.

42 A nd Jesus said to him, “ Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”

Jesús entonces le dijo: “Recibe la vista, tu fe te ha sanado.”

43 I mmediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.

Al instante recobró la vista y Lo seguía glorificando a Dios. Cuando toda la gente vio aquello, dieron gloria a Dios.
