1 “ At that time the Lord said to me, ‘ Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the former ones, and come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood for yourself.

“En aquel tiempo el Señor me dijo: ‘Lábrate dos tablas de piedra como las anteriores, y sube a Mí al monte, y hazte un arca de madera.

2 I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered, and you shall put them in the ark.’

Yo escribiré sobre esas tablas las palabras que estaban sobre las primeras tablas que quebraste, y las pondrás en el arca.’

3 S o I made an ark of acacia wood and cut out two tablets of stone like the former ones, and went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hand.

Hice, pues, un arca de madera de acacia y labré dos tablas de piedra como las anteriores, y subí al monte con las dos tablas en mi mano.

4 H e wrote on the tablets, like the former writing, the Ten Commandments which the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly; and the Lord gave them to me.

Y El escribió sobre las tablas, conforme a la escritura anterior, los Diez Mandamientos que el Señor les había hablado a ustedes en el monte de en medio del fuego el día de la asamblea; y el Señor me las dio.

5 T hen I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”

Entonces me volví y descendí del monte, y puse las tablas en el arca que yo había hecho; y allí están tal como el Señor me ordenó.

6 ( Now the sons of Israel set out from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died and there he was buried and Eleazar his son ministered as priest in his place.

(Después los Israelitas salieron de Beerot Bene Jaacán hacia Mosera. Allí murió Aarón y allí fue sepultado, y su hijo Eleazar ministró como sacerdote en su lugar.

7 F rom there they set out to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

De allí salieron hacia Gudgoda; y de Gudgoda hacia Jotbata, una tierra de corrientes de aguas.

8 A t that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to serve Him and to bless in His name until this day.

En aquel tiempo el Señor apartó la tribu de Leví para que llevara el arca del pacto del Señor, y para que estuviera delante del Señor, sirviéndole y bendiciendo en Su nombre hasta el día de hoy.

9 T herefore, Levi does not have a portion or inheritance with his brothers; the Lord is his inheritance, just as the Lord your God spoke to him.)

Por tanto, Leví no tiene porción o herencia con sus hermanos; el Señor es su herencia, así como el Señor tu Dios le habló.)

10 “ I, moreover, stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights like the first time, and the Lord listened to me that time also; the Lord was not willing to destroy you.

“Me quedé en el monte cuarenta días y cuarenta noches como la primera vez, y el Señor me escuchó también esta vez; y el Señor no quiso destruirte.

11 T hen the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, proceed on your journey ahead of the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

Entonces me dijo el Señor: ‘Levántate, continúa tu marcha al frente del pueblo, para que entren y tomen posesión de la tierra que Yo juré a sus padres que les daría.’ Lo que Dios Requiere

12 “ Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

“Y ahora, Israel, ¿qué requiere de ti el Señor tu Dios, sino que temas (reverencies) al Señor tu Dios, que andes en todos Sus caminos, que Lo ames y que sirvas al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,

13 a nd to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?

y que guardes los mandamientos del Señor y Sus estatutos que yo te ordeno hoy para tu bien?

14 B ehold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.

Al Señor tu Dios pertenecen los cielos y los cielos de los cielos, la tierra y todo lo que en ella hay.

15 Y et on your fathers did the Lord set His affection to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, even you above all peoples, as it is this day.

Sin embargo, el Señor se agradó de tus padres, los amó, y escogió a su descendencia después de ellos, es decir, a ustedes, de entre todos los pueblos, como se ve hoy.

16 S o circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer.

Circunciden, pues, su corazón, y no sean más tercos.

17 F or the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.

Porque el Señor su Dios es Dios de dioses y Señor de señores, Dios grande, poderoso y temible que no hace acepción de personas ni acepta soborno.

18 H e executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing.

El hace justicia al huérfano y a la viuda, y muestra Su amor al extranjero dándole pan y vestido.

19 S o show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

Muestren, pues, amor al extranjero, porque ustedes fueron extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto.

20 Y ou shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.

Temerás (Reverenciarás) al Señor tu Dios; Le servirás, te allegarás a El y sólo en Su nombre jurarás.

21 H e is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.

El es el objeto de tu alabanza y El es tu Dios, que ha hecho por ti estas cosas grandes y portentosas que tus ojos han visto.

22 Y our fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.

Cuando tus padres descendieron a Egipto eran setenta personas, y ahora el Señor tu Dios te ha hecho tan numeroso como las estrellas del cielo.
