1 T hen the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, after Ehud died.

2 A nd the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; and the commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-hagoyim.

Y el Señor los vendió en mano de Jabín, rey de Canaán, que reinaba en Hazor. El comandante de su ejército era Sísara, que vivía en Haroset Goyim.

3 T he sons of Israel cried to the Lord; for he had nine hundred iron chariots, and he oppressed the sons of Israel severely for twenty years.

Entonces los Israelitas clamaron al Señor, porque Jabín tenía 900 carros de hierro y había oprimido duramente a los Israelitas durante veinte años.

4 N ow Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.

Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot, juzgaba a Israel en aquel tiempo.

5 S he used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment.

Ella se sentaba debajo de la palmera de Débora entre Ramá y Betel, en la región montañosa de Efraín; y los Israelitas subían a ella a pedir juicio.

6 N ow she sent and summoned Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh-naphtali, and said to him, “ Behold, the Lord, the God of Israel, has commanded, ‘Go and march to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men from the sons of Naphtali and from the sons of Zebulun.

Ella mandó llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: “Esto ha ordenado el Señor, Dios de Israel: ‘Ve, marcha al Monte Tabor y lleva contigo a 10, 000 hombres de los hijos de Neftalí y de los hijos de Zabulón.

7 I will draw out to you Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his many troops to the river Kishon, and I will give him into your hand.’”

Y yo atraeré hacia ti a Sísara, comandante del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y sus muchas tropas hacia el torrente Cisón, y lo entregaré en tus manos.’”

8 T hen Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”

Barac le respondió: “Si tú vas conmigo, yo iré; pero si no vas conmigo, no iré.”

9 S he said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the honor shall not be yours on the journey that you are about to take, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.

“Ciertamente iré contigo,” le dijo Débora. “Sin embargo, el honor no será tuyo en la jornada que vas a emprender, porque el Señor venderá a Sísara en manos de una mujer.” Entonces Débora se levantó y fue con Barac a Cedes.

10 B arak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh, and ten thousand men went up with him; Deborah also went up with him.

Barac convocó a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subieron con él 10, 000 hombres. Débora también subió con él.

11 N ow Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, from the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Zaanannim, which is near Kedesh.

13 S isera called together all his chariots, nine hundred iron chariots, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim to the river Kishon.

14 D eborah said to Barak, “Arise! For this is the day in which the Lord has given Sisera into your hands; behold, the Lord has gone out before you.” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.

Entonces Débora dijo a Barac: “¡Levántate! Porque éste es el día en que el Señor ha entregado a Sísara en tus manos. Ya que el Señor ha salido delante de ti.” Bajó, pues, Barac del Monte Tabor seguido de 10, 000 hombres.

15 T he Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.

El Señor derrotó a Sísara, con todos sus carros y todo su ejército, a filo de espada delante de Barac. Y Sísara bajó de su carro, y huyó a pie.

16 B ut Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth-hagoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not even one was left.

Barac persiguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroset Goyim, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada. No quedó ni uno.

17 N ow Sisera fled away on foot to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

Pero Sísara huyó a pie a la tienda de Jael, mujer de Heber el Quenita. Porque había paz entre Jabín, rey de Hazor, y la casa de Heber el Quenita.

18 J ael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me! Do not be afraid.” And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

Jael salió al encuentro de Sísara, y le dijo: “Venga, señor mío, venga a mí; no tema.” Y él fue hacia ella a la tienda, y ella lo cubrió con una manta.

19 H e said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a bottle of milk and gave him a drink; then she covered him.

Y él le dijo: “Te ruego que me des a beber un poco de agua, porque tengo sed.” Y ella abrió un odre de leche y le dio de beber; entonces lo cubrió.

20 H e said to her, “Stand in the doorway of the tent, and it shall be if anyone comes and inquires of you, and says, ‘Is there anyone here?’ that you shall say, ‘No.’”

Y él le dijo: “Ponte a la entrada de la tienda, y si alguien viene y te pregunta: ‘¿Hay alguien aquí?’ tú responderás: ‘No.’”

21 B ut Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and seized a hammer in her hand, and went secretly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground; for he was sound asleep and exhausted. So he died.

Pero Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda y tomando en la mano un martillo, se le acercó silenciosamente y le clavó la estaca en las sienes, la cual penetró en la tierra, pues él estaba profundamente dormido y agotado, y murió.

22 A nd behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking.” And he entered with her, and behold Sisera was lying dead with the tent peg in his temple.

Y cuando Barac venía persiguiendo a Sísara, Jael salió a su encuentro, y le dijo: “Ven, y te mostraré al hombre que buscas.” Y él entró con ella, y vio que Sísara estaba tendido, muerto con la estaca en la sien.

23 S o God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel.

Así sometió Dios en aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los Israelitas.

24 T he hand of the sons of Israel pressed heavier and heavier upon Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin the king of Canaan.

Y la mano de los Israelitas se hizo más y más dura sobre Jabín, rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.
