1 N ow the Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they had approached the presence of the Lord and died.

El Señor habló a Moisés después de la muerte de los hijos de Aarón, cuando se acercaron a la presencia del Señor y murieron.

2 T he Lord said to Moses: “Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, or he will die; for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.

El Señor le dijo a Moisés: “Dile a tu hermano Aarón que no entre en cualquier tiempo en el lugar santo detrás del velo, delante del propiciatorio que está sobre el arca, no sea que muera; porque Yo apareceré en la nube sobre el propiciatorio.

3 A aron shall enter the holy place with this: with a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.

Aarón podrá entrar en el lugar santo con esto: con un novillo para ofrenda por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto.

4 H e shall put on the holy linen tunic, and the linen undergarments shall be next to his body, and he shall be girded with the linen sash and attired with the linen turban (these are holy garments). Then he shall bathe his body in water and put them on.

Se vestirá con la túnica sagrada de lino, y los calzoncillos de lino estarán sobre su cuerpo, y se ceñirá con el cinturón de lino y se cubrirá con la tiara de lino (estas son vestiduras sagradas). Lavará, pues, su cuerpo con agua y se vestirá con ellas.

5 H e shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.

Aarón tomará de la congregación de los Israelitas dos machos cabríos para ofrenda por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto.

6 T hen Aaron shall offer the bull for the sin offering which is for himself, that he may make atonement for himself and for his household.

Entonces Aarón ofrecerá el novillo como ofrenda por el pecado, que es por sí mismo, para hacer expiación por sí mismo y por su casa.

7 H e shall take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the doorway of the tent of meeting.

Y tomará los dos machos cabríos y los presentará delante del Señor a la entrada de la tienda de reunión.

8 A aron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat.

Aarón echará suertes sobre los dos machos cabríos, una suerte por el Señor, y otra suerte para el macho cabrío expiatorio.

9 T hen Aaron shall offer the goat on which the lot for the Lord fell, and make it a sin offering.

Luego Aarón ofrecerá el macho cabrío sobre el cual haya caído la suerte para el Señor, haciéndolo ofrenda por el pecado.

10 B ut the goat on which the lot for the scapegoat fell shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it, to send it into the wilderness as the scapegoat.

Pero el macho cabrío sobre el cual cayó la suerte para el macho cabrío expiatorio, será presentado vivo delante del Señor para hacer expiación sobre él, para enviarlo al desierto como macho cabrío expiatorio.

11 “ Then Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering which is for himself and make atonement for himself and for his household, and he shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.

“Entonces Aarón ofrecerá el novillo de la ofrenda por el pecado, que es por sí mismo, y hará expiación por sí mismo y por su casa, y degollará el novillo de la ofrenda por el pecado hecha por sí mismo.

12 H e shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the Lord and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil.

Y tomará un incensario lleno de brasas de fuego de sobre el altar que está delante del Señor, y dos puñados de incienso aromático molido, y lo llevará detrás del velo.

13 H e shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die.

Pondrá el incienso sobre el fuego delante del Señor, para que la nube del incienso cubra el propiciatorio que está sobre el arca del testimonio, no sea que Aarón muera.

14 M oreover, he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; also in front of the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

Tomará además de la sangre del novillo y la rociará con su dedo en el lado oriental del propiciatorio; también delante del propiciatorio rociará de la sangre siete veces con su dedo.

15 “ Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat.

“Después degollará el macho cabrío de la ofrenda por el pecado que es por el pueblo, y llevará su sangre detrás del velo y hará con ella como hizo con la sangre del novillo, y la rociará sobre el propiciatorio y delante del propiciatorio.

16 H e shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the impurities of the sons of Israel and because of their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and thus he shall do for the tent of meeting which abides with them in the midst of their impurities.

Hará, pues, expiación por el lugar santo a causa de las impurezas de los Israelitas y a causa de sus transgresiones, por todos sus pecados; así hará también con la tienda de reunión que permanece con ellos en medio de sus impurezas.

17 W hen he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, no one shall be in the tent of meeting until he comes out, that he may make atonement for himself and for his household and for all the assembly of Israel.

Cuando Aarón entre a hacer expiación en el lugar santo, nadie estará en la tienda de reunión hasta que él salga, para que haga expiación por sí mismo, por su casa y por toda la asamblea de Israel.

18 T hen he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and of the blood of the goat and put it on the horns of the altar on all sides.

Entonces saldrá al altar que está delante del Señor y hará expiación por él, y tomará de la sangre del novillo y de la sangre del macho cabrío y la pondrá en los cuernos del altar por todos los lados.

19 W ith his finger he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times and cleanse it, and from the impurities of the sons of Israel consecrate it.

Y con su dedo rociará sobre él de la sangre siete veces, y lo limpiará, y lo santificará de las impurezas de los Israelitas.

20 “ When he finishes atoning for the holy place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall offer the live goat.

Cuando acabe de hacer expiación por el lugar santo, la tienda de reunión y el altar, presentará el macho cabrío vivo.

21 T hen Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and he shall lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who stands in readiness.

Después Aarón pondrá ambas manos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los Israelitas y todas sus transgresiones, todos sus pecados, y poniéndolos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, lo enviará al desierto por medio de un hombre preparado para esto.

22 T he goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to a solitary land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

El macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos a una tierra solitaria; y el hombre soltará el macho cabrío en el desierto.

23 “ Then Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting and take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there.

“Entonces Aarón entrará en la tienda de reunión y se quitará las vestiduras de lino que se había puesto al entrar en el lugar santo, y las dejará allí.

24 H e shall bathe his body with water in a holy place and put on his clothes, and come forth and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people and make atonement for himself and for the people.

Lavará su cuerpo con agua en un lugar sagrado, se pondrá sus vestidos, y saldrá y ofrecerá su holocausto y el holocausto del pueblo, y hará expiación por sí mismo y por el pueblo.

25 T hen he shall offer up in smoke the fat of the sin offering on the altar.

Luego quemará en el altar la grasa de la ofrenda por el pecado.

26 T he one who released the goat as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water; then afterward he shall come into the camp.

Y el que soltó el macho cabrío como macho cabrío expiatorio, lavará sus ropas y lavará su cuerpo con agua, y después entrará en el campamento.

27 B ut the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be taken outside the camp, and they shall burn their hides, their flesh, and their refuse in the fire.

Pero el novillo de la ofrenda por el pecado y el macho cabrío de la ofrenda por el pecado, cuya sangre fue llevada dentro del lugar santo para hacer expiación, serán llevados fuera del campamento, y quemarán en el fuego su piel, su carne y su estiércol.

28 T hen the one who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water, then afterward he shall come into the camp. An Annual Atonement

Entonces el que los queme lavará sus ropas y lavará su cuerpo con agua, y después entrará en el campamento.

29 “ This shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you;

“Y esto será para ustedes un estatuto perpetuo: en el mes séptimo, a los diez días del mes, humillarán sus almas y no harán obra alguna, ni el nativo ni el extranjero que reside entre ustedes.

30 f or it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

Porque en este día se hará expiación por ustedes para que sean limpios; serán limpios de todos sus pecados delante del Señor.

31 I t is to be a sabbath of solemn rest for you, that you may humble your souls; it is a permanent statute.

Será para ustedes día de reposo, de descanso solemne, para que humillen sus almas; es estatuto perpetuo.

32 S o the priest who is anointed and ordained to serve as priest in his father’s place shall make atonement: he shall thus put on the linen garments, the holy garments,

Así el sacerdote que es ungido y ordenado para ministrar como sacerdote en lugar de su padre hará expiación: se pondrá las vestiduras de lino, las vestiduras sagradas,

33 a nd make atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar. He shall also make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

y hará expiación por el santo santuario; hará expiación también por la tienda de reunión y por el altar. Además hará expiación por los sacerdotes y por todo el pueblo de la asamblea.

34 N ow you shall have this as a permanent statute, to make atonement for the sons of Israel for all their sins once every year.” And just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so he did.

Ustedes tendrán esto por estatuto perpetuo para hacer expiación por los Israelitas, por todos sus pecados, una vez cada año.” Tal como el Señor lo ordenó a Moisés, así lo hizo.
