1 G ive ear to my prayer, O God; And do not hide Yourself from my supplication.

Escucha, oh Dios, mi oración, Y no Te escondas de mi súplica.

2 G ive heed to me and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and am surely distracted,

Atiéndeme y respóndeme; Conmovido estoy en mi queja y muy conturbado,

3 B ecause of the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure of the wicked; For they bring down trouble upon me And in anger they bear a grudge against me.

A causa de la voz del enemigo, Por la opresión del impío; Porque echan iniquidad sobre mí, Y con furia me persiguen.

4 M y heart is in anguish within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me.

Angustiado está mi corazón dentro de mí, Y sobre mí han caído los terrores de la muerte.

5 F ear and trembling come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me.

Terror y temblor me invaden, Y horror me ha cubierto.

6 I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.

7 “ Behold, I would wander far away, I would lodge in the wilderness. Selah.

8 “ I would hasten to my place of refuge From the stormy wind and tempest.”

Me apresuraría a buscar mi lugar de refugio Contra el viento borrascoso y la tempestad.”

9 C onfuse, O Lord, divide their tongues, For I have seen violence and strife in the city.

Confunde, Señor, divide sus lenguas, Porque he visto violencia y rencilla en la ciudad.

10 D ay and night they go around her upon her walls, And iniquity and mischief are in her midst.

Día y noche la rondan sobre sus muros, Y en medio de ella hay iniquidad y malicia.

11 D estruction is in her midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from her streets.

Hay destrucción en medio de ella, Y la opresión y el engaño no se alejan de sus calles.

12 F or it is not an enemy who reproaches me, Then I could bear it; Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, Then I could hide myself from him.

Porque no es un enemigo el que me reprocha, Si así fuera, podría soportar lo; Ni es uno que me odia el que se ha alzado contra mí, Si así fuera, podría ocultarme de él;

13 B ut it is you, a man my equal, My companion and my familiar friend;

Sino tú, que eres mi igual, Mi compañero, mi íntimo amigo;

14 W e who had sweet fellowship together Walked in the house of God in the throng.

Nosotros que juntos teníamos dulce comunión, Que con la multitud andábamos en la casa de Dios.

15 L et death come deceitfully upon them; Let them go down alive to Sheol, For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.

Que la muerte sorprenda a mis enemigos, Que desciendan vivos al Seol, Porque la maldad está en su morada, en medio de ellos.

16 A s for me, I shall call upon God, And the Lord will save me.

En cuanto a mí, a Dios invocaré, Y el Señor me salvará.

17 E vening and morning and at noon, I will complain and murmur, And He will hear my voice.

Tarde, mañana y mediodía me lamentaré y gemiré, Y El oirá mi voz.

18 H e will redeem my soul in peace from the battle which is against me, For they are many who strive with me.

En paz redimirá mi alma de la guerra que hay contra mí, Pues son muchos los que están contra mí.

19 G od will hear and answer them— Even the one who sits enthroned from of old— Selah. With whom there is no change, And who do not fear God.

Dios oirá y les responderá, El, que reina desde la antigüedad, (Selah) Porque no hay cambio en ellos Ni temen a Dios.

20 H e has put forth his hands against those who were at peace with him; He has violated his covenant.

Aquél ha extendido sus manos contra los que estaban en paz con él, Ha violado su pacto.

21 H is speech was smoother than butter, But his heart was war; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

Las palabras de su boca eran más blandas que la mantequilla, Pero en su corazón había guerra; Más suaves que el aceite eran sus palabras, Sin embargo, eran espadas desnudas.

22 C ast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Echa sobre el Señor tu carga, y El te sustentará; El nunca permitirá que el justo sea sacudido.

23 B ut You, O God, will bring them down to the pit of destruction; Men of bloodshed and deceit will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.

Pero Tú, oh Dios, harás caer a los malvados en el pozo de la destrucción; Los hombres sanguinarios y engañadores no vivirán la mitad de sus días; Pero yo en Ti confiaré.
