1 I sus a început din nou să dea învăţătură lângă mare. Se adunase o mulţime aşa de mare în jurul Lui, încât El a trebuit să se suie şi să stea într-o barcă, pe mare, în timp ce întreaga mulţime se afla lângă mare, pe ţărm.

Jesus began to teach by the sea-shore again. Many people gathered around Him. There were so many He had to get into a boat and sit down. The people were on the shore.

2 E l îi învăţa multe lucruri în pilde şi în învăţătura Lui le spunea:

He taught them many things by using picture-stories. As He taught, He said,

3 „ Ascultaţi! Iată, semănătorul a ieşit să semene!

“Listen! A man went out to plant seed.

4 Î n timp ce semăna el, o parte din sămânţă a căzut lângă drum şi au venit păsările şi au mâncat-o.

As he planted the seed, some fell by the side of the road. Birds came and ate them.

5 O altă parte a căzut în locuri stâncoase, unde nu avea pământ mult. A răsărit repede, pentru că nu avea pământ adânc,

Some seed fell among rocks. It came up at once because there was so little ground.

6 d ar când a răsărit soarele, s-a ofilit şi, fiindcă nu avea rădăcină, s-a uscat.

But it dried up when the sun was high in the sky because it had no root.

7 O altă parte a căzut între spini, iar spinii au crescut şi au sufocat-o, aşa că nu a dat rod.

Some seed fell among thorns. The thorns grew and did not give the seed room to grow. This seed gave no grain.

8 A lta însă a căzut în pământ bun şi a dat rod care s-a înălţat şi a crescut: un grăunte a rodit treizeci, altul – şaizeci şi altul – o sută.“

Some seed fell on good ground. It came up and grew and gave much grain. Some gave thirty times as much grain. Some gave sixty times as much grain. Some gave one hundred times as much grain.”

9 A poi le zicea: „Cine are urechi de auzit, să audă!“

He said to them, “You have ears, then listen!”

10 C ând a fost singur, cei din jurul Lui împreună cu cei doisprezece L-au întrebat despre pilde.

Those who were with Jesus and the twelve followers came to Him when He was alone. They asked about the picture-story.

11 E l le-a zis: „Vouă v-a fost dată taina Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu, dar pentru cei de afară toate li se spun în pilde,

He said to them, “You were given the secrets about the holy nation of God. Everything is told in picture-stories to those who are outside the holy nation of God.

12 p entru ca «Să privească mereu, dar să nu priceapă şi să asculte întruna, dar să nu înţeleagă, ca nu cumva să se întoarcă la Mine şi să fie iertaţi!»“

They see, but do not know what it means. They hear, but do not understand. If they did, they might turn to God and have their sins forgiven.” Jesus Tells about the Man Who Planted the Seed

13 A poi le-a zis: „Dacă nu înţelegeţi această pildă, cum veţi înţelege toate celelalte pilde?

Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this picture-story? Then how will you understand any of the picture-stories?

14 S emănătorul seamănă Cuvântul.

What the man plants is the Word of God.

15 S ămânţa de lângă drum, unde este semănat Cuvântul, sunt cei care aud Cuvântul, dar vine imediat Satan şi ia Cuvântul care a fost semănat în ei.

Those by the side of the road are the ones who hear the Word. As soon as they hear it, the devil comes and takes away the Word that is planted in their hearts.

16 S ămânţa semănată în locuri stâncoase sunt cei care, atunci când aud Cuvântul, îl primesc imediat cu bucurie,

The seed that fell among rocks is like people who receive the Word with joy when they hear it.

17 d ar nu au rădăcină în ei, ci durează doar pentru o vreme. Şi când vine necazul sau persecuţia din pricina Cuvântului, ei se poticnesc imediat.

Their roots are not deep so they live only a short time. When sorrow and trouble come because of the Word, they give up and fall away.

18 O altă sămânţă, care este cea semănată între spini, sunt cei care aud Cuvântul,

The seed that was planted among thorns is like some people who listen to the Word.

19 d ar îngrijorările vieţii, înşelăciunea bogăţiei şi poftele pentru alte lucruri intră în ei, sufocă Cuvântul şi acesta devine neroditor.

But the cares of this life let thorns come up. A love for riches and always wanting other things let thorns grow. These things do not give the Word room to grow so it does not give grain.

20 S ămânţa semănată în pământul cel bun sunt cei care aud Cuvântul, îl primesc şi aduc rod: unul – treizeci, altul – şaizeci şi altul – o sută.“ Pilda felinarului

The seed that fell on good ground is like people who hear the Word and understand it. They give much grain. Some give thirty times as much grain. Some give sixty times as much grain. Some give one hundred times as much grain.” The Picture-Story of the Lamp

21 E l le-a mai zis: „Oare se aduce felinarul ca să fie pus sub un obroc sau sub un pat?! Nu este adus el ca să fie pus pe un suport?

He said to them, “Is a lamp to be put under a pail or under a bed? Should it not be put on a lamp-stand?

22 C ăci nu este nimic ascuns care nu va fi dezvăluit şi nu este nimic tăinuit care nu va ieşi la iveală!

Everything that is hidden will be brought into the light. Everything that is a secret will be made known.

23 D acă are cineva urechi de auzit, să audă!

You have ears, then listen!”

24 F iţi atenţi la ceea ce auziţi! Cu ce măsură măsuraţi, vi se va măsura şi vi se va adăuga şi mai mult!

Jesus said to them, “Be careful what you listen to. The same amount you give will be given to you, and even more.

25 C ăci celui ce are i se va da, dar de la cel ce n-are i se va lua chiar şi ce are!“ Pilda cu sămânţa care creşte

He who has, to him will be given. To him who does not have, even the little he has will be taken from him.” The Picture-Story of the Grain

26 E l a mai zis: „Cu Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu este ca şi cu un om care aruncă sămânţă în pământ.

He said, “The holy nation of God is like a man who plants seed in the ground.

27 F ie că el doarme noaptea sau este treaz ziua, sămânţa încolţeşte şi creşte fără să ştie el cum.

He goes to sleep every night and gets up every day. The seed grows, but he does not know how.

28 P ământul rodeşte de la sine – mai întâi firul verde, apoi spicul, iar apoi întregul bob de grâu în spic.

The earth gives fruit by itself. The leaf comes first and then the young grain can be seen. And last, the grain is ready to gather.

29 C ând grâul este copt, pune imediat secera în el, pentru că a sosit secerişul.“ Pilda bobului de muştar

As soon as the grain is ready, he cuts it. The time of gathering the grain has come.” The Picture-Story of the Mustard Seed

30 E l a mai zis: „Cu ce să asemănăm Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu sau prin ce pildă am putea s-o descriem?

Jesus said, “In what way can we show what the holy nation of God is like? Or what picture-story can we use to help you understand?

31 E a este ca un bob de muştar, care, atunci când este semănat în pământ, este cel mai mic dintre toate seminţele de pe pământ,

It is like a grain of mustard seed that is planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds.

32 d ar după ce este semănat, el creşte, ajunge mai mare decât toate zarzavaturile şi face ramuri mari, aşa încât păsările îşi pot face cuibul la umbra lor.“

After it is put in the ground, it grows and becomes the largest of the spices. It puts out long branches so birds of the sky can live in it.”

33 Ş i prin multe astfel de pilde El le vestea Cuvântul, după cum erau ei în stare să-l asculte.

As they were able to understand, He spoke the Word to them by using many picture-stories.

34 N u le vorbea deloc fără să folosească vreo pildă. Dar când era doar El cu ucenicii Lui deoparte, le explica toate lucrurile. Isus linişteşte furtuna

Jesus helped His followers understand everything when He was alone with them. The Wind and Waves Obey Jesus

35 Î n aceeaşi zi, când s-a lăsat seara, le-a zis: „Să traversăm în partea cealaltă!“

It was evening of that same day. Jesus said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.”

36 A u lăsat mulţimea şi L-au luat aşa cum era, în barcă. Împreună cu El mai erau şi alte bărci.

After sending the people away, they took Jesus with them in a boat. It was the same boat He used when He taught them. Other little boats went along with them.

37 S -a stârnit o furtună foarte puternică, care arunca valurile asupra bărcii, aşa încât barca era aproape plină cu apă.

A bad wind storm came up. The waves were coming over the side of the boat. It was filling up with water.

38 E l era în partea din spate a bărcii, dormind pe căpătâi. L-au trezit şi I-au spus: „Învăţătorule, nu-Ţi pasă că pierim?!“

Jesus was in the back part of the boat sleeping on a pillow. They woke Him up, crying out, “Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?”

39 E l S-a sculat, a mustrat vântul şi a zis mării: „Taci! Linişteşte-te!“ Vântul s-a oprit şi s-a făcut o linişte mare.

He got up and spoke sharp words to the wind. He said to the sea, “Be quiet! Be still.” At once the wind stopped blowing. There were no more waves.

40 A poi le-a zis: „De ce sunteţi atât de fricoşi? Tot n-aveţi credinţă?“

He said to His followers, “Why are you so full of fear? Do you not have faith?”

41 E i s-au înfricoşat foarte tare şi-şi ziceau unii altora: „Cine este Acesta, de-L ascultă până şi vântul, şi marea?“

They were very much afraid and said to each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and waves obey Him!”
