1 Î nsă noi, care suntem tari, trebuie să purtăm slăbiciunile celor slabi şi nu să ne fim plăcuţi nouă înşine.

We who have strong faith should help those who are weak. We should not live to please ourselves.

2 F iecare dintre noi trebuie să placă semenului său, spre binele acestuia, pentru zidirea lui,

Each of us should live to please his neighbor. This will help him grow in faith.

3 î ntrucât chiar Cristos nu Şi-a plăcut Lui Însuşi, ci, aşa cum este scris: „Ocările celor ce Te ocărăsc au căzut peste Mine!“

Even Christ did not please Himself. The Holy Writings say, “The sharp words spoken against you fell on Me.”

4 T ot ce a fost scris în trecut a fost scris pentru învăţătura noastră, pentru ca, prin răbdarea şi încurajarea date de Scripturi, să avem nădejde.

Everything that was written in the Holy Writings long ago was written to teach us. By not giving up, God’s Word gives us strength and hope.

5 D umnezeul răbdării şi al încurajării să vă ajute să trăiţi în armonie unii cu alţii, potrivit cu Cristos Isus,

Now the God Who helps you not to give up and gives you strength will help you think so you can please each other as Christ Jesus did.

6 p entru ca, dintr-o singură inimă şi dintr-un singur glas, să-L slăviţi pe Dumnezeul şi Tatăl Domnului nostru Isus Cristos!

Then all of you together can thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 A şadar, primiţi-vă bine unii pe alţii, aşa cum v-a primit Cristos, pentru a-I aduce slavă lui Dumnezeu!

Receive each other as Christ received you. This will honor God.

8 E u vă spun că Cristos a devenit un slujitor al celor circumcişi, pentru adevărul lui Dumnezeu, pentru ca El să confirme promisiunile date patriarhilor,

Christ came to help the Jews. This proved that God had told the truth to their early fathers. This proved that God would do what He promised.

9 a stfel încât neamurile să-L slăvească pe Dumnezeu pentru îndurarea Lui, aşa cum este scris: „De aceea Te voi lăuda printre neamuri şi voi cânta laudă Numelui Tău!“

This was done so the people who are not Jews can thank God for His loving-kindness. The Holy Writings say, “This is why I will give thanks to you among the people who are not Jews. I will sing to Your name.”

10 Ş i, din nou, spune: „Bucuraţi-vă, neamuri, împreună cu poporul Lui!“

It says also, “You who are not Jews, be happy with His people, the Jews.”

11 Ş i, din nou: „Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul, toate neamurile! Daţi-I laudă, toate popoarele!“

And, “Honor and give thanks to the Lord, you who are not Jews. Let everyone honor Him.”

12 Ş i, din nou, Isaia spune: „Rădăcina lui Işai va ieşi, şi El Se va ridica să conducă neamurile; în El îşi vor pune neamurile nădejdea!“

And Isaiah says, “There will be One from the family of Jesse Who will be a leader over the people who are not Jews. Their hope will be in Him.”

13 D umnezeul nădejdii să vă umple de toată bucuria şi pacea, în timp ce credeţi, ca să aveţi nădejde din belşug, prin puterea Duhului Sfânt! Motivaţia lui Pavel în scrierea epistolei

Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him. May your hope grow stronger by the power of the Holy Spirit.

14 D ar eu însumi sunt convins cu privire la voi, fraţii mei, că şi voi înşivă sunteţi plini de bunătate, plini de toată cunoaşterea, capabili să vă învăţaţi unii pe alţii.

I am sure you are wise in all things and full of much good. You are able to help and teach each other.

15 C u toate acestea, v-am scris într-un mod mai îndrăzneţ cu privire la unele lucruri, ca să vi le reamintesc, datorită harului care mi-a fost dat de către Dumnezeu

I have written to you with strong words about some things. I have written so you would remember. God helped me write like this.

16 s pre a fi un slujitor al lui Cristos Isus pentru neamuri, în datoria preoţească de a vesti Evanghelia lui Dumnezeu, astfel încât neamurile să fie o jertfă plăcută, sfinţită de Duhul Sfânt.

I am able to write these things because God made me a missionary to the people who are not Jews. I work as a servant of Jesus Christ. I preach the Good News of God so the people who are not Jews may be as a gift to God. The Holy Spirit will set them apart so God will be pleased with them.

17 A şadar, în Cristos Isus mă pot lăuda cu lucrarea mea pentru Dumnezeu,

I have reason to be proud of my work for God. It is because I belong to Christ Jesus.

18 p entru că n-aş avea îndrăzneala de a mă lăuda cu vreun alt lucru, decât cu ceea ce a făcut Cristos prin mine, pentru ca neamurile să asculte prin ceea ce am spus şi am făcut,

I can only speak of what Christ has done through me. I have helped the people who are not Jews to obey Him. I have done it by words and by living with them.

19 p rin puterea semnelor şi minunilor, prin puterea Duhului lui Dumnezeu. Astfel, din Ierusalim şi împrejurimile lui, până în Iliria, am vestit toată Evanghelia lui Cristos.

God showed them His power through me. The Holy Spirit did powerful works through me in front of them. From Jerusalem to the country of Illyricum I have preached the Good News of Christ.

20 Î ntotdeauna am dorit să vestesc Evanghelia acolo unde Cristos încă n-a fost cunoscut, ca să nu construiesc pe o temelie pusă de altcineva,

It is my desire to preach the Good News where it has never been preached. I want to preach only where Christ is not known.

21 c i să fac aşa cum este scris: „Cei cărora nu li s-a spus niciodată despre El vor vedea, şi cei care n-au auzit niciodată despre El vor înţelege.“ Planul lui Pavel de a vizita Roma

The Holy Writings say, “Those who have never known about Him will see. And those who have never heard about Him will understand.”

22 I ată ce m-a împiedicat de multe ori să vin la voi.

This is why I have been kept many times from coming to you.

23 D ar acum, nemaiavând nimic de înfăptuit în aceste regiuni şi întrucât de mulţi ani doresc să vin la voi,

But now I am finished with my work here. I have been wanting to come and visit you for many years.

24 s per să vă văd în călătoria mea, când voi merge în Spania, şi să fiu însoţit de voi până acolo, după ce, mai întâi, voi petrece un timp cu voi.

I hope I can now. I am making plans to go to the country of Spain. On my way there I will stop and visit you. After I have had the joy of visiting you for awhile, you can help me on my way again.

25 A cum însă mă duc la Ierusalim, pentru a-i sluji pe sfinţi acolo.

But now I am going to Jerusalem to hand the Christians the gift of money.

26 C ăci celor din Macedonia şi Ahaia le-a făcut plăcere să facă o binefacere pentru săracii care sunt între sfinţii din Ierusalim.

The churches in the countries of Macedonia and Greece have decided to give money to help some of the poor Christians in Jerusalem.

27 L e-a făcut plăcere să facă aceasta şi, într-adevăr, le erau datori, pentru că, dacă neamurile au avut şi ele parte de binecuvântările duhovniceşti ale acestora, la rândul lor şi ele ar trebui să-i slujească cu binecuvântări materiale.

They wanted to do it. They should help them in this way because they owe much to the Christians in Jerusalem. The Jews shared the Good News with the people who are not Jews. For this reason, they should share what they can with the Jews.

28 D eci, după ce voi fi îndeplinit aceasta şi le voi fi dat în siguranţă ceea ce a fost adunat, voi merge în Spania, trecând pe la voi.

I will hand this gift of money to them. Then I will stop to see you on my way to the country of Spain.

29 Ş tiu însă că, atunci când voi veni la voi, voi veni cu o măsură plină de binecuvântare de la Cristos.

I know that when I come to you, Christ will give me much good to share with you.

30 V ă îndemn, fraţilor, prin Domnul nostru Isus Cristos şi prin dragostea Duhului, să vă luptaţi împreună cu mine în rugăciuni către Dumnezeu pentru mine.

I ask you from my heart, Christian brothers, to pray much for me. I ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

31 R ugaţi-vă să fiu eliberat de necredincioşii din Iudeea, iar slujirea mea în Ierusalim să fie primită de sfinţi,

Pray that God will keep me safe from the people in the country of Judea who are not Christians. Pray also that the work I am to do for the Christians in Jerusalem will help them.

32 p entru ca, prin voia lui Dumnezeu, să vin la voi cu bucurie şi să pot fi înviorat în mijlocul vostru.

Then I will be coming to you if God wants me to come. I will be full of joy, and together we can have some rest.

33 D umnezeul păcii să fie cu voi toţi! Amin.

May our God Who gives us peace, be with you all. Let it be so.
