1 D e aceea, fraţi sfinţi, care aveţi parte de chemarea cerească, gândiţi-vă cu mare atenţie la Isus, Apostolul şi Marele Preot al credinţei pe care o mărturisim.

Christian brothers, you have been chosen and set apart by God. So let us think about Jesus. He is the One God sent and He is the Religious Leader of our Christian faith.

2 E l a fost credincios Celui Ce L-a desemnat, aşa cum şi Moise a fost credincios în toată casa Lui.

Jesus was faithful in God’s house just as Moses was faithful in all of God’s house.

3 E l a fost găsit vrednic de o slavă mai mare decât a lui Moise, aşa cum constructorul unei case are mai multă onoare decât casa însăşi.

The man who builds a house gets more honor than the house. That is why Jesus gets more honor than Moses.

4 C ăci orice casă este construită de cineva, însă Cel Ce le-a zidit pe toate este Dumnezeu.

Every house is built by someone. And God is the One Who has built everything.

5 M oise a fost credincios ca slujitor în toată Casa lui Dumnezeu, ca să depună mărturie despre lucrurile care urmau a fi spuse,

Moses was a faithful servant owned by God in God’s house. He spoke of the things that would be told about later on.

6 d ar Cristos a fost credincios ca Fiu peste toată Casa lui Dumnezeu, iar Casa Lui suntem noi, dacă păstrăm într-adevăr cu fermitate încrederea şi lauda care aparţin nădejdii. Avertizare împotriva necredinţei

But Christ was faithful as a Son Who is Head of God’s house. We are of God’s house if we keep our trust in the Lord until the end. This is our hope.

7 D e aceea, aşa cum spune Duhul Sfânt: „Astăzi dacă auziţi glasul Lui,

The Holy Spirit says, “If you hear His voice today,

8 n u vă împietriţi inimile, ca atunci când v-aţi răzvrătit, ca în ziua încercării în pustie,

do not let your hearts become hard as your early fathers did when they turned against Me. It was at that time in the desert when they put Me to the test.

9 c ând strămoşii voştri M-au pus la încercare şi M-au ispitit, deşi Îmi văzuseră lucrările

Your early fathers tempted Me and tried Me. They saw the work I did for forty years.

10 t imp de patruzeci de ani! De aceea M-am mâniat pe generaţia aceasta şi am zis: «Ei întotdeauna s-au rătăcit în inimile lor şi n-au cunoscut căile Mele.»

For this reason, I was angry with the people of this day. And I said to them, ‘They always think wrong thoughts. They have never understood what I have tried to do for them.’

11 D e aceea am jurat în mânia Mea: «Nu vor intra în odihna Mea!»“

I was angry with them and said to Myself, ‘They will never go into My rest.’”

12 F iţi atenţi, fraţilor, ca nici unul dintre voi să nu aibă o inimă rea, necredincioasă, care să-l întoarcă de la Dumnezeul cel Viu,

Christian brothers, be careful that not one of you has a heart so bad that it will not believe and will turn away from the living God.

13 c i încurajaţi-vă unul pe altul în fiecare zi, atâta timp cât se spune „astăzi“, astfel încât nici unul dintre voi să nu fie împietrit prin înşelăciunea păcatului!

Help each other. Speak day after day to each other while it is still today so your heart will not become hard by being fooled by sin.

14 N oi avem parte de Cristos dacă păstrăm cu fermitate, până la sfârşit, încrederea pe care am avut-o la început.

For we belong to Christ if we keep on trusting Him to the end just as we trusted Him at first.

15 E ste spus: „Astăzi dacă auziţi glasul Lui, nu vă împietriţi inimile ca atunci când v-aţi răzvrătit!“

The Holy Writings say, “If you hear His voice today, do not let your hearts become hard as your early fathers did when they turned against Me.”

16 C ine au fost cei ce au auzit şi s-au răzvrătit? Nu toţi cei ce au ieşit din Egipt prin Moise?

Who heard God’s voice and turned against Him? Did not all those who were led out of the country of Egypt by Moses?

17 Ş i pe cine s-a mâniat El timp de patruzeci de ani? Nu pe cei care au păcătuit şi ale căror trupuri moarte au căzut în pustie?

Who made God angry for forty years? Was it not those people who had sinned in the desert? Was it not those who died and were buried there?

18 C ui a jurat El că nu vor intra în odihna Lui, dacă nu celor care nu au ascultat?

Who did He say could never go into His rest? Was it not those who did not obey Him?

19 V edem că ei n-au putut intra din cauza necredinţei.

So we can see that they were not able to go into His rest because they did not put their trust in Him.
