1 D umnezeul meu, Dumnezeul meu, de ce m-ai părăsit? Eşti atât de departe de izbăvirea mea şi de cuvintele strigătului meu!

My God, my God, why have You left me alone? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words I cry inside myself?

2 D umnezeul meu, strig ziua, dar nu-mi răspunzi, strig noaptea, dar nu găsesc odihnă.

O my God, I cry during the day, but You do not answer. I cry during the night, but I find no rest.

3 D ar Tu eşti sfânt, eşti întronat în mijlocul laudelor lui Israel.

Yet You are holy. The praises Israel gives You are Your throne.

4 Î n Tine au nădăjduit strămoşii noştri; ei au nădăjduit, iar Tu i-ai izbăvit;

Our fathers trusted in You, and You saved them.

5 a u strigat către Tine şi au fost scăpaţi; au nădăjduit în Tine şi nu au fost daţi de ruşine.

They cried to You and were set free. They trusted in You and were not ashamed.

6 D ar eu sunt vierme, nu om; am ajuns de râsul oamenilor şi dispreţuit de popor.

But I am a worm and not a man. I am put to shame by men, and am hated by the people.

7 C ei ce mă văd îşi bat joc de mine, rânjesc şi clatină din cap.

All who see me make fun of me. They open their mouths and shake their heads, and say,

8 „ S-a încrezut în Domnul! Să-l scape El! Să-l izbăvească, căci doar Îşi găseşte plăcerea în el!“

“He trusts in the Lord. Let the Lord help him. Let the Lord take him out of trouble, because he is happy in Him.”

9 Ş i totuşi Tu m-ai scos din pântecele mamei mele şi mi-ai dat ocrotire la pieptul ei.

But You brought me out when I was born. You made me trust when I drank my mother’s milk.

10 S ub privirea Ta am fost scos din pântece; încă din pântecele maicii mele, Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu.

I was in Your care from birth. Since my mother gave birth to me, You have been my God.

11 N u Te îndepărta de mine, căci necazul este aproape şi nu am nici un ajutor!

Do not be far from me, for trouble is near. And there is no one to help.

12 M ă încercuiesc mulţi tauri, nişte tauri puternici din Başan mă înconjoară.

Many bulls have gathered all around me. Strong bulls of Bashan stand around me.

13 Î şi deschid gura împotriva mea ca leul care sfâşie şi răcneşte.

They open their mouths wide against me, like a loud, hungry lion.

14 S unt turnat ca apa şi toate oasele mi se despart. Ca ceara mi se topeşte inima înăuntrul meu.

I am poured out like water. And all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like a melted candle within me.

15 M i se usucă puterea ca lutul, iar limba mi se lipeşte de cerul gurii: m-ai adus în ţărâna morţii.

My strength is dried up like a piece of a broken clay pot. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. And You lay me in the dust of death.

16 M ă încercuiesc nişte câini, o ceată de nelegiuiţi mă învăluieşte; mi-au străpuns mâinile şi picioarele.

For dogs have gathered around me. A group of sinful men stand around me. They have cut through my hands and feet.

17 T oate oasele aş putea să mi le număr. Ei se uită, mă privesc;

I can tell how many bones I have. The people look at me with wide eyes.

18 ş i-au împărţit veşmintele mele între ei şi au tras la sorţi pentru cămaşa mea.

They divide my clothes among them by drawing names to see who would get them.

19 D ar Tu, Doamne, nu Te îndepărta! Tăria mea, grăbeşte de-mi ajută!

But You, O Lord, be not far from me! O my Strength, hurry to help me!

20 S capă-mi sufletul de sabie, şi viaţa din ghearele câinilor!

Take me away from the sword. Save my life from the power of the dog.

21 I zbăveşte-mă din gura leului! Eliberează-mă din coarnele bivolului sălbatic!

Save me from the lion’s mouth, and from the horns of the wild bulls You answer me.

22 V oi vesti Numele Tău fraţilor mei; te voi lăuda în mijlocul adunării!

I will make Your name known to my brothers. In the center of the meeting of worship I will praise You.

23 C ei ce vă temeţi de Domnul, lăudaţi-L! Voi, toţi urmaşii lui Iacov, slăviţi-L! Temeţi-vă de El, voi, toţi urmaşii lui Israel!

You who fear the Lord, give Him praise. All you children of Jacob, honor Him. Fear Him, all you children of Israel.

24 C ăci El nu dispreţuieşte, nici nu nesocoteşte necazul sărmanului; nu-Şi ascunde faţa de acesta, ci-l ascultă când strigă către El după ajutor.

For He has not turned away from the suffering of the one in pain or trouble. He has not hidden His face from him. But He has heard his cry for help.

25 T u eşti pricina laudelor mele în adunarea cea mare! Îmi voi împlini jurămintele înaintea celor ce se tem de Tine!

My praise will be from You in the big meeting of worship. I will keep my promises to Him in front of those who fear Him.

26 C ei săraci vor mânca şi se vor sătura; cei ce Îl caută pe Domnul Îl vor lăuda. Veşnic să vă trăiască sufletul!

Those who suffer will eat and have enough. Those who look for the Lord will praise Him. May your heart live forever!

27 T oate marginile pământului îşi vor aminti şi se vor întoarce la Domnul. Toate familiile neamurilor se vor închina înaintea Lui,

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will worship before Him.

28 c ăci a Domnului este domnia şi El stăpâneşte peste neamuri!

For the holy nation is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations.

29 T oţi cei prosperi de pe pământ vor mânca şi I se vor închina; înaintea Lui vor îngenunchea toţi cei ce se coboară în ţărână, cei ce nu pot să-şi păstreze viaţa.

All the proud ones of the earth will eat and worship. All who go down to the dust will fall to their knees before Him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

30 U rmaşii Îi vor sluji şi se va povesti istorisi generaţiei următoare despre Stăpânul.

Future children will serve Him. They will tell of the Lord to their children.

31 E i vor veni şi vor vesti dreptatea Lui, iar poporului care se va naşte îi vor vesti lucrarea Lui.

They will come and tell about His saving power to a people yet to be born. For He has done it.
