1 P ăzeşte-mă, Dumnezeule, căci la Tine caut adăpost!

Keep me, O God, for I am safe in You.

2 E u zic Domnului: „Tu eşti Stăpânul meu; nu am nimic bun decât pe Tine!“

I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord. All the good things I have come from You.”

3 S finţii care sunt în ţară, ei sunt cei măreţi în care-mi găsesc toată plăcerea.

As for those in the land who belong to You, they are the great ones in whom is all my joy.

4 D urerile celor ce aleargă după idoli se înmulţesc; eu însă nu aduc ca ei jertfe de băutură din sânge şi nici nu pun numele idolilor lor pe buzele mele.

Those who have traded for another god bring many troubles on themselves. I will not take part in their altar gifts of blood. And I will not take their names upon my lips.

5 D oamne, Tu eşti partea mea de moştenire şi cupa mea! Tu eşti Cel Care îmi apuci sorţul!

The Lord is all that I am to receive, and my cup. My future is in Your hands.

6 P lăcute moşii mi-au căzut la sorţi! Într-adevăr, frumoasă moştenire mi-a fost dată!

The land given to me is good. Yes, my share is beautiful to me.

7 Î l voi binecuvânta pe Domnul Care mă sfătuieşte! Până şi noaptea îmi dă îndemnuri inima!

I will give honor and thanks to the Lord, Who has told me what to do. Yes, even at night my mind teaches me.

8 Î l pun pe Domnul neîncetat înaintea mea, căci El este la dreapta mea ca să nu mă clatin!

I have placed the Lord always in front of me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved.

9 D e aceea, mi se bucură inima şi mi se înveseleşte sufletul! Mai mult, trupul meu va locui în siguranţă,

And so my heart is glad. My soul is full of joy. My body also will rest without fear.

10 c ăci nu-mi vei lăsa sufletul în Locuinţa Morţilor şi nu vei îngădui ca sfântul Tău să vadă putrezirea.

For You will not give me over to the grave. And You will not allow Your Holy One to return to dust.

11 M i-ai făcut cunoscută cărarea vieţii … În prezenţa Ta este belşug de bucurie, la dreapta Ta sunt desfătări veşnice!

You will show me the way of life. Being with You is to be full of joy. In Your right hand there is happiness forever.
