1 C ând doi oameni se vor certa între ei, să se înfăţişeze la judecată şi să fie judecaţi. Să fie considerat drept cel nevinovat, iar cel vinovat să fie condamnat.

“Two men might argue and go to court. The judges will decide between them, saying that the right man is not guilty and that the sinful man is guilty.

2 D acă cel vinovat merită să fie lovit, judecătorul să pună să-l întindă la pământ ca să fie lovit înaintea lui cu un număr de lovituri potrivit vinovăţiei lui,

You must have a full and fair weight. You must have a fair way to show how big something is. Then you will live long in the land the Lord your God gives you.

16 C ăci toţi aceia care fac astfel de lucruri, toţi aceia care fac ce nu este drept sunt o urâciune înaintea Domnului, Dumnezeul tău.

For the Lord hates everyone who does such things, who lies and is not fair.

17 A duceţi-vă aminte ce v-au făcut amalekiţii pe drum, când aţi ieşit din Egipt.

“Remember what Amalek did to you on your way out of Egypt.

18 C ând eraţi obosiţi şi sleiţi de puteri, ei v-au întâlnit pe drum şi i-au atacat pe toţi cei care erau istoviţi în urma voastră; ei n-au avut nici o teamă de Dumnezeu.

He met you on the way when you were weak and tired. And he fought with those who were behind. He did not fear God.

19 C ând Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, vă va da odihnă de toţi duşmanii care sunt în jurul vostru, în ţara pe care El v-o dă drept moştenire, ca s-o stăpâniţi, să ştergeţi amintirea lui Amalek de sub cer. Să nu uitaţi lucrul acesta!

When the Lord your God gives you rest from all those around you who hate you, in the land the Lord your God gives you for your own, you must forget all about Amalek, so no one under heaven will remember him. Do not forget to do this.
