1 Y ahweh, my God, I take refuge in you. Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

Señor, mi Dios, en ti confío; ¡ponme a salvo de los que me persiguen!

2 l est they tear apart my soul like a lion, ripping it in pieces, while there is no one to deliver.

¡No permitas que, como leones, me desgarren; que me destrocen sin que nadie me defienda!

3 Y ahweh, my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,

Señor, mi Dios, ¿qué mal he cometido? ¿Acaso hay maldad en mis manos?

4 i f I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me (yes, if I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),

¿Acaso les he pagado mal a mis aliados dejando sin más en libertad a nuestros adversarios?

5 l et the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; yes, let him tread my life down to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

Si es así, ¡que el enemigo me persiga! ¡Que me alcance y me haga rodar por tierra! ¡Que ponga mi honor por los suelos!

6 A rise, Yahweh, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.

Señor, ¡levántate, y en tu furor enfréntate a la furia de mis adversarios! ¡Despierta, y dicta tu sentencia en mi favor!

7 L et the congregation of the peoples surround you. Rule over them on high.

Rodeado entonces de todas las naciones, reinarás sobre ellas desde el alto cielo.

8 Y ahweh administers judgment to the peoples. Judge me, Yahweh, according to my righteousness, and to my integrity that is in me.

Tú, Señor, que juzgas a las naciones, júzgame como corresponde a tu justicia, y de acuerdo con mi integridad.

9 O h let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.

Pon fin a la maldad de los perversos, pero mantén firme al hombre honrado, pues tú eres un Dios justo que examina el corazón y la mente.

10 M y shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.

Dios es mi escudo; él salva a los rectos de corazón.

11 G od is a righteous judge, yes, a God who has indignation every day.

Dios es un juez justo, siempre enojado con la gente malvada.

12 I f a man doesn’t relent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.

Listos tiene el arco y la espada para actuar contra ellos, si no se arrepienten.

13 H e has also prepared for himself the instruments of death. He makes ready his flaming arrows.

Listas tiene también armas mortales; ¡ya ha preparado ardientes saetas!

14 B ehold, he travails with iniquity. Yes, he has conceived mischief, and brought out falsehood.

El malvado concibe hacer el mal; tan preñado está de maldad que de él nace la mentira.

15 H e has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made.

Ha cavado un pozo muy profundo, y en ese mismo pozo caerá.

16 T he trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.

Su maldad se volverá contra él; sus agravios recaerán sobre él mismo.

17 I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.

¡Yo alabaré al Señor por su justicia! ¡Cantaré salmos al nombre del Dios altísimo!
