1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

2 “ Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her monthly period she shall be unclean.

«Habla con los hijos de Israel, y diles: “Cuando una mujer conciba y dé a luz un varón, se quedará impura siete días, como cuando está en los días de su menstruación.

3 I n the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Al octavo día se circuncidará al niño,

4 S he shall continue in the blood of purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any holy thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed.

pero ella continuará purificándose de su sangre durante treinta y tres días más. No podrá tocar ninguna cosa santa, ni podrá presentarse en el santuario, hasta que se cumplan los días de su purificación.

5 B ut if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her period; and she shall continue in the blood of purification sixty-six days.

”Si da a luz una niña, se quedará impura dos semanas, como cuando está en los días de su menstruación, y continuará purificándose de su sangre durante sesenta y seis días más.

6 “ ‘When the days of her purification are completed, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the door of the Tent of Meeting, a year old lamb for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering:

”Al cumplirse los días de su purificación, haya tenido un hijo o una hija, irá a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión y presentará al sacerdote un cordero de un año, para holocausto, y un palomino o una tórtola para expiación.

7 a nd he shall offer it before Yahweh, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. “‘This is the law for her who bears, whether a male or a female.

El sacerdote se los ofrecerá al Señor, y hará expiación por ella, y ella quedará limpia de su flujo de sangre. ”Ésta es la ley para la mujer que dé a luz un hijo o una hija.

8 I f she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.’”

Si no tiene lo suficiente para comprar un cordero, presentará entonces dos tórtolas o dos palominos, uno para holocausto y otro para expiación; el sacerdote hará entonces la expiación por ella, y ella quedará limpia.”»
