1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

2 “ Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded,

«Habla con Aarón y sus hijos, y con todo el pueblo de Israel, y diles que esto es lo que yo, el Señor, les ordeno hacer:

3 W hatever man there is of the house of Israel, who kills a bull, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or who kills it outside the camp,

»Todo israelita que dentro del campamento o fuera de él degüelle un buey, un cordero o una cabra,

4 a nd hasn’t brought it to the door of the Tent of Meeting, to offer it as an offering to Yahweh before Yahweh’s tabernacle: blood shall be imputed to that man. He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people.

y no lo lleve a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión para ofrecerlo al Señor como ofrenda delante de su tabernáculo, será culpable, pues ha derramado sangre. Por lo tanto, ese hombre será eliminado de su pueblo,

5 T his is to the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, that they may bring them to Yahweh, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, to the priest, and sacrifice them for sacrifices of peace offerings to Yahweh.

a fin de que los hijos de Israel traigan al Señor los sacrificios que ofrecen en medio del campo y los presenten al sacerdote a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión, para que ellos ofrezcan sacrificios de paz al Señor.

6 T he priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and burn the fat for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.

El sacerdote rociará la sangre sobre el altar del Señor, a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión, y quemará la grasa en olor grato en honor del Señor,

7 T hey shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices to the goat idols, after which they play the prostitute. This shall be a statute forever to them throughout their generations.’

y nunca más ofrecerán sus sacrificios a esos demonios, por los cuales se han prostituido. Éste será un estatuto perpetuo para todos sus descendientes.

8 “ You shall say to them, ‘Any man there is of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,

»También les dirás que todo israelita, y todo extranjero que viva entre ustedes, que ofrezca un holocausto o sacrificio

9 a nd doesn’t bring it to the door of the Tent of Meeting, to sacrifice it to Yahweh; that man shall be cut off from his people.

y no lo lleve a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión para ofrecérmelo, será también eliminado de su pueblo. Prohibición de comer sangre

10 “ ‘Any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who eats any kind of blood, I will set my face against that soul who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

»Si algún israelita o extranjero que viva entre ustedes come sangre, yo me pondré en contra de él y lo eliminaré de su pueblo.

11 F or the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.

Y es que la vida de todo ser está en la sangre. Yo les he dado a ustedes la sangre para que sobre el altar se haga expiación por ustedes. Por medio de la sangre misma se hace expiación por ustedes.

12 T herefore I have said to the children of Israel, “No person among you may eat blood, nor may any stranger who lives as a foreigner among you eat blood.”

Por lo tanto, digo ahora a los hijos de Israel: Ninguno de ustedes, ni ningún extranjero que viva entre ustedes, comerá sangre.

13 “ ‘Whatever man there is of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who live as foreigners among them, who takes in hunting any animal or bird that may be eaten; he shall pour out its blood, and cover it with dust.

Todo israelita, y todo extranjero que viva entre ustedes, que cace algún animal o ave que se pueda comer, deberá derramar su sangre y cubrirla con tierra.

14 F or as to the life of all flesh, its blood is with its life: therefore I said to the children of Israel, “You shall not eat the blood of any kind of flesh; for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.”

La sangre es la vida de todo ser vivo. Por tanto, digo a los hijos de Israel: No coman la sangre de ningún ser vivo, porque la sangre es la vida de todo ser vivo. Todo el que la coma, será eliminado.

15 “ ‘Every person that eats what dies of itself, or that which is torn by animals, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening: then he shall be clean.

Toda persona nacida entre ustedes, y todo extranjero, que coma algún animal que haya sido matado o despedazado por una fiera, deberá lavar sus vestidos, y lavarse a sí misma con agua, y se quedará impura hasta el anochecer. Después de eso, será declarada limpia.

16 B ut if he doesn’t wash them, or bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.’”

Si no lava sus vestidos, ni se lava a sí mismo, cargará con su iniquidad.»
