1 M oreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward: and see, at the door of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

El espíritu me levantó y me llevó a la puerta oriental del templo del Señor. Allí, a la entrada de la puerta, vi a veinticinco hombres. Entre ellos estaban Jazanías hijo de Azur y Pelatías hijo de Benaías, que eran dos personas importantes del pueblo.

2 H e said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city;

Y me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, éstos son los que en esta ciudad hacen planes malvados e imparten malos consejos.

3 w ho say, The time is not near to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the meat.

Éstos son los que dicen: “Construyamos casas, que las cosas no suceden tan pronto. Si la ciudad es la olla, entonces nosotros somos la carne.”

4 T herefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.

Por lo tanto, profetiza contra ellos, hijo de hombre. ¡Profetiza!»

5 Y ahweh’s Spirit fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Yahweh says: Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

Luego, el espíritu del Señor vino sobre mí, y me dijo: «Dile de mi parte al pueblo de Israel: “Así ha dicho el Señor: Ustedes han hablado, y yo he entendido todo lo que ustedes piensan.

6 Y ou have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.

En esta ciudad ustedes han multiplicado sus muertos, y han llenado de cadáveres sus calles.

7 T herefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you shall be brought out of the middle of it.

Por lo tanto, así ha dicho Dios el Señor: Los muertos que ustedes han puesto en medio de la ciudad son la carne, y la ciudad es la olla. ¡Pues yo voy a echarlos a ustedes dentro de esa olla!

8 Y ou have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you, says the Lord Yahweh.

Ustedes temen morir por la espada, pero yo haré que por la espada mueran. —Palabra del Señor.

9 I will bring you out of the middle of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

”Voy a expulsarlos de la ciudad, y a ponerlos en manos de gente extraña. Voy a dictar sentencia contra ustedes.

10 Y ou shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

A filo de espada morirán; dictaré sentencia contra ustedes en los límites de Israel. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

11 T his shall not be your cauldron, neither shall you be the meat in the middle of it; I will judge you in the border of Israel;

La ciudad no será para ustedes ninguna olla, ni ustedes serán la carne en la olla. Yo dictaré sentencia contra ustedes en los límites de Israel.

12 a nd you shall know that I am Yahweh: for you have not walked in my statutes, neither have you executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you.

Sabrán entonces que yo soy el Señor, porque no han seguido mis estatutos ni han obedecido mis decretos, sino que han seguido las costumbres de las naciones a su alrededor.”»

13 W hen I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

Y sucedió que, mientras yo profetizaba, Pelatías hijo de Benaías murió. Entonces me incliné de cara al suelo, y con gran voz clamé: «¡Ay, Señor y Dios! ¿Vas a destruir del todo al remanente de Israel?» Promesa de restauración y renovación

14 Y ahweh’s word came to me, saying,

Entonces la palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

15 “ Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.’”

«Hijo de hombre, fue a tus propios hermanos y parientes, y a todo el pueblo de Israel, a quienes los habitantes de Jerusalén decían: “Aléjense del Señor, que esta tierra se nos dio a nosotros en posesión.”

16 T herefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.

Por lo tanto, diles de mi parte: “Aunque yo los he arrojado entre las naciones lejanas, y los he esparcido por todos los países, con todo seré para ustedes un pequeño santuario en los países adonde lleguen.”

17 T herefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

Y diles también: “Así ha dicho Dios el Señor: Yo volveré a recogerlos de entre los pueblos y naciones por las que estén esparcidos, y les daré la tierra de Israel.”

18 T hey shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all its abominations from there.

Y ellos volverán allá, y quitarán de allí todas sus idolatrías y todos sus ídolos repugnantes.

19 I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

Pondré en ellos un corazón y un espíritu nuevo. Les quitaré el corazón de piedra que ahora tienen, y les daré un corazón sensible,

20 t hat they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

para que sigan mis ordenanzas y cumplan mis decretos. Entonces ellos serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios.

21 B ut as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

Pero a aquellos cuyo corazón vaya tras el deseo de sus idolatrías y de sus abominaciones, los haré que sufran en carne propia las consecuencias de su mala conducta.» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

22 T hen the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

Después de esto, los querubines levantaron sus alas, y las ruedas los siguieron. La gloria del Dios de Israel estaba sobre ellos,

23 Y ahweh’s glory went up from the middle of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

pero se levantó y salió de la ciudad, y fue a posarse sobre el monte que está al oriente de la ciudad.

24 T he Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

Entonces el espíritu me levantó y una vez más me llevó, en una visión del espíritu de Dios, al país de los caldeos, donde estaban los cautivos. Luego, la visión desapareció de mi vista,

25 T hen I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that Yahweh had shown me.

y yo les conté a los cautivos todo lo que el Señor me había mostrado.
