1 L ăudaţi pe Domnul! Lăudaţi pe Domnul, căci este bun, căci îndurarea Lui ţine în veci!

Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His loving-kindness lasts forever.

2 C ine va putea spune isprăvile măreţe ale Domnului? Cine va putea vesti toată lauda Lui?

Who can put into words the great works of the Lord? Who can make known all His praise?

3 F erice de cei ce păzesc Legea, de cei ce înfăptuiesc dreptatea în orice vreme!

Happy are those who are faithful in being fair and who always do what is right and good!

4 A du-Ţi aminte de mine, Doamne, în bunăvoinţa Ta pentru poporul Tău! Adu-Ţi aminte de mine, şi dă -i ajutorul Tău,

O Lord, remember me when You show favor to Your people. Visit me also when You save them.

5 c a să văd fericirea aleşilor Tăi, să mă bucur de bucuria poporului Tău, şi să mă laud cu moştenirea Ta!

So I may share in the well-being of Your chosen ones. So I may share in the joy of Your nation, and be proud of Your people.

6 N oi am păcătuit ca şi părinţii noştri, am săvîrşit nelegiuirea, am făcut rău.

We have sinned like our fathers. We have done wrong. We have been sinful in our actions.

7 P ărinţii noştri în Egipt n'au luat aminte la minunile Tale, nu şi-au adus aminte de mulţimea îndurărilor Tale, şi au fost neascultători la mare, la marea Roşie.

Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your powerful works. They did not remember how many times You showed Your loving-kindness. But they turned against You by the sea, the Red Sea.

8 D ar El i -a scăpat, din pricina Numelui Lui, ca să-Şi arate puterea.

Yet He saved them because of the honor of His name, and to make His great power known.

9 A mustrat marea Roşie, şi ea s'a uscat; şi i -a trecut prin adîncuri ca printr'un pustiu.

So He spoke sharp words to the Red Sea and it dried up. And He led them through the sea as through a desert.

10 I -a scăpat din mîna celui ce -i ura, şi i -a izbăvit din mîna vrăjmaşului.

He saved them from the hand of those who hated them. He set them free from the hand of those who went against them.

11 A pele au acoperit pe protivnicii lor. N'a rămas unul măcar din ei.

And the waters covered those who hated them. Not one of them was left.

12 A tunci ei au crezut în cuvintele Lui şi au cîntat laudele Lui.

Then they believed His promises. They sang His praise.

13 D ar au uitat curînd lucrările Lui, şi n'au aşteptat împlinirea planurilor Lui.

But they soon forgot His works. They did not wait to hear what He wanted them to do.

14 C i i -a apucat pofta în pustie, şi au ispitit pe Dumnezeu în pustietate.

They wanted many things in the desert, and they tempted God there.

15 E l le -a dat ce cereau; dar a trimes o molimă printre ei.

So He gave them what they wanted, but He allowed their souls to become weak because of it.

16 Î n tabără au fost geloşi pe Moise, şi pe Aaron, sfîntul Domnului.

They were jealous of Moses in the place where they set up their tents. And they were jealous of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord.

17 A tunci s'a deschis pămîntul, şi a înghiţit pe Datan, şi s'a închis deasupra cetei lui Abiram.

So the earth opened up and swallowed Dathan. It closed over the group of Abiram.

18 F ocul le -a aprins ceata, şi flacăra a mistuit pe cei răi.

And a fire came among their followers. It burned up the sinful people.

19 A u făcut un viţel în Horeb. S'au închinat înaintea unui chip turnat,

They made a calf at Horeb and worshiped a god of gold.

20 ş i au schimbat Slava lor, pe chipul unui bou, care mănîncă iarbă.

They traded their shining-greatness for something that looked like a bull that eats grass.

21 A u uitat pe Dumnezeu, Mîntuitorul lor, care făcuse lucruri mari în Egipt,

They forgot the God Who saved them, Who had done great things in Egypt,

22 m inuni în ţara lui Ham, semne minunate la marea Roşie.

powerful works in the land of Ham, and works that brought fear by the Red Sea.

23 Ş i El a vorbit să -i nimicească: dar Moise, alesul său, a stătut la mijloc înaintea Lui, ca să -L abată dela mînia Lui şi să -L oprească să -i nimicească.

So He said that He would destroy them. But Moses, His chosen one, stood in the way to keep His anger from destroying them.

24 E i au nesocotit ţara desfătărilor; n'au crezut în Cuvîntul Domnului,

Then they hated the good land. They did not believe in His Word.

25 c i au cîrtit în corturile lor, şi n'au ascultat de glasul Lui.

But they complained in their tents. They did not listen to the voice of the Lord.

26 A tunci El a ridicat mîna şi a jurat că -i va face să cadă în pustie,

So He swore to them that He would let them die in the desert.

27 c ă le va doborî sămînţa printre neamuri, şi -i va împrăştia în mijlocul ţărilor.

And He would spread out their children among the nations and divide them over all the earth.

28 E i s'au alipit de Baal-Peor, şi au mîncat vite jertfite morţilor.

They joined themselves to Baal of Peor and ate gifts given to the dead.

29 A u mîniat astfel pe Domnul prin faptele lor, şi o urgie a izbucnit între ei.

They made the Lord angry by their actions and a sickness broke out among them.

30 D ar Fineas s'a sculat şi a făcut judecată, şi astfel urgia s'a oprit.

Then Phinehas stood up and came between them, and the sickness was stopped.

31 L ucrul acesta i -a fost socotit ca o stare de neprihănire, din neam în neam, pe vecie.

And this made him right with God to all people forever.

32 E i au mîniat pe Domnul la apele Meriba; şi Moise a fost pedepsit din pricina lor.

They also made the Lord angry at the waters of Meribah. And trouble came to Moses because of them.

33 C ăci s'au răzvrătit împotriva Duhului Lui, şi Moise a vorbit în chip uşuratic cu buzele.

He spoke from his lips without thinking because they went against the Spirit of God.

34 E i n'au nimicit popoarele, pe cari le poruncise Domnul să le nimicească.

They did not destroy the people as the Lord told them to do.

35 C i s-au amestecat cu neamurile, şi au învăţat faptele lor,

But they mixed with the nations and learned their ways.

36 a u slujit idolilor lor, cari au fost o cursă pentru ei.

They served their gods, which became a trap to them.

37 Ş i-au jertfit fiii şi fiicele la idoli,

They even gave their sons and daughters as gifts on an altar to the demons.

38 a u vărsat sînge nevinovat, sîngele fiilor şi fiicelor lor, pe cari i-au jertfit idolilor din Canaan, şi ţara a fost spurcată astfel prin omoruri.

They poured out the blood of those who were not guilty, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they gave on an altar to the gods of Canaan. And the land was poisoned with blood.

39 S 'au spurcat prin faptele lor, au desfrînat prin faptele lor.

They made themselves unclean by what they did. They were not true to God in what they did.

40 A tunci Domnul S'a aprins de mînie împotriva poporului Său, şi a urît moştenirea Lui.

So the Lord was angry with His people. He hated His people.

41 I -a dat în mînile neamurilor, cei ce îi urau au stăpînit peste ei,

So He handed them over to the nations. And those who hated them ruled over them.

42 v răjmaşii lor i-au asuprit, şi au fost smeriţi supt puterea lor.

Those who hated them held a strong power over them. And they were made to obey them.

43 E l de mai multe ori i -a izbăvit, dar ei s'au arătat neascultători în planurile lor, şi au ajuns nenorociţi prin nelegiuirea lor.

God set them free many times. But they always turned against Him and went deeper into sin.

44 D ar El le -a văzut strîmtorarea, cînd le -a auzit strigătele.

But He looked upon their trouble when He heard their cry.

45 Ş i -a adus aminte de legămîntul Său, şi a avut milă de ei, după bunătatea Lui cea mare:

He remembered His agreement because of them, and took pity on them by the greatness of His loving-kindness.

46 a stîrnit pentru ei mila tuturor celor ce i ţineau prinşi de război.

Those who held them also saw how God took pity on them.

47 S capă-ne, Doamne, Dumnezeul nostru, şi strînge-ne din mijlocul neamurilor, ca să lăudăm Numele Tău cel sfînt, şi să ne fălim cu lauda Ta!

O Lord our God, save us! Gather us from among the nations. And we will give thanks to Your holy name and find honor in Your praise.

48 B inecuvîntat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel, din vecincie în vecinicie! Şi tot poporul să zică:,, Amin! Lăudaţi pe Domnul!``

Honor and thanks be to the Lord, the God of Israel, forever and ever. Let all the people say, “Let it be so!” Praise the Lord!
