1 A cum dar nu este nici o osîndire pentru ceice sînt în Hristos Isus, cari nu trăiesc după îndemnurile firii pămînteşti, ci după îndemnurile Duhului.

Now, because of this, those who belong to Christ will not suffer the punishment of sin.

2 Î n adevăr, legea Duhului de viaţă în Hristos Isus, m'a izbăvit de Legea păcatului şi a morţii.

The power of the Holy Spirit has made me free from the power of sin and death. This power is mine because I belong to Christ Jesus.

3 C ăci-lucru cu neputinţă Legii, întrucît firea pămîntească (Greceşte: carnea, aici şi peste tot unde e,, firea pămîntească``.) o făcea fără putere-Dumnezeu a osîndit păcatul în firea pămîntească, trimeţînd, din pricina păcatului, pe însuş Fiul Său într'o fire asemănătoare cu a păcatului,

The Law could not make me free from the power of sin and death. It was weak because it had to work with weak human beings. But God sent His own Son. He came to earth in a body of flesh which could be tempted to sin as we in our bodies can be. He gave Himself to take away sin. By doing that, He took away the power sin had over us.

4 p entruca porunca Legii să fie împlinită în noi, cari trăim nu după îndemnurile firii pămînteşti, ci după îndemnurile Duhului.

In that way, Jesus did for us what the Law said had to be done. We do not do what our sinful old selves tell us to do anymore. Now we do what the Holy Spirit wants us to do.

5 Î n adevăr, ceice trăiesc după îndemnurile firii pămînteşti, umblă după lucrurile firii pămînteşti; pe cînd cei ce trăiesc după îndemnurile Duhului, umblă după lucrurile Duhului.

Those who let their sinful old selves tell them what to do live under that power of their sinful old selves. But those who let the Holy Spirit tell them what to do are under His power.

6 Ş i umblarea după lucrurile firii pămînteşti, este moarte, pe cînd umblarea după lucrurile Duhului este viaţă şi pace.

If your sinful old self is the boss over your mind, it leads to death. But if the Holy Spirit is the boss over your mind, it leads to life and peace.

7 F iindcă umblarea după lucrurile firii pămînteşti este vrăjmăşie împotriva lui Dumnezeu, căci, ea nu se supune Legii lui Dumnezeu, şi nici nu poate să se supună.

The mind that thinks only of ways to please the sinful old self is fighting against God. It is not able to obey God’s Laws. It never can.

8 D eci, ceice sînt pămînteşti, nu pot să placă lui Dumnezeu.

Those who do what their sinful old selves want to do cannot please God.

9 V oi însă nu mai sînteţi pămînteşti, ci duhovniceşti, dacă Duhul lui Dumnezeu locuieşte în adevăr în voi. Dacă n'are cineva Duhul lui Hristos, nu este al Lui.

But you are not doing what your sinful old selves want you to do. You are doing what the Holy Spirit tells you to do, if you have God’s Spirit living in you. No one belongs to Christ if he does not have Christ’s Spirit in him.

10 Ş i dacă Hristos este în voi, trupul vostru, da, este supus morţii, din pricina păcatului; dar duhul vostru este viu, din pricina neprihănirii.

If Christ is in you, your spirit lives because you are right with God, and yet your body is dead because of sin.

11 Ş i dacă Duhul Celui ce a înviat pe Isus dintre cei morţi locuieşte în voi, Cel ce a înviat pe Hristos Isus din morţi, va învia şi trupurile voastre muritoare, din pricina Duhului Său, care locuieşte în voi.

The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. If the same Holy Spirit lives in you, He will give life to your bodies in the same way.

12 A şa dar, fraţilor, noi nu mai datorăm nimic firii pămînteşti, ca să trăim după îndemnurile ei.

So then, Christian brothers, we are not to do what our sinful old selves want us to do.

13 D acă trăiţi după îndemnurile ei, veţi muri; dar dacă, prin Duhul, faceţi să moară faptele trupului, veţi trăi.

If you do what your sinful old selves want you to do, you will die in sin. But if, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you destroy those actions to which the body can be led, you will have life.

14 C ăci toţi ceice sînt călăuziţi de Duhul lui Dumnezeu sînt fii ai lui Dumnezeu.

All those who are led by the Holy Spirit are sons of God.

15 Ş i voi n'aţi primit un duh de robie, ca să mai aveţi frică; ci aţi primit un duh de înfiere, care ne face să strigăm:,, Ava! adică: Tată!``

You should not act like people who are owned by someone. They are always afraid. Instead, the Holy Spirit makes us His sons, and we can call to Him, “My Father.”

16 Î nsuş Duhul adevereşte împreună cu duhul nostru că sîntem copii ai lui Dumnezeu.

For the Holy Spirit speaks to us and tells our spirit that we are children of God.

17 Ş i, dacă sîntem copii, sîntem şi moştenitori: moştenitori ai lui Dumnezeu, şi împreună moştenitori cu Hristos, dacă suferim cu adevărat împreună cu El, ca să fim şi proslăviţi împreună cu El.

If we are children of God, we will receive everything He has promised us. We will share with Christ all the things God has given to Him. But we must share His suffering if we are to share His shining-greatness.

18 E u socotesc că suferinţele din vremea de acum nu sînt vrednice să fie puse alături cu slava viitoare, care are să fie descoperită faţă de noi.

I am sure that our suffering now cannot be compared to the shining-greatness that He is going to give us.

19 D e asemenea, şi firea aşteaptă cu o dorinţă înfocată descoperirea fiilor lui Dumnezeu.

Everything that has been made in the world is waiting for the day when God will make His sons known.

20 C ăci firea a fost supusă deşertăciunii-nu de voie, ci din pricina celui ce a supus -o-cu nădejdea însă,

Everything that has been made in the world is weak. It is not that the world wanted it to be that way. God allowed it to be that way. Yet there is hope.

21 c ă şi ea va fi izbăvită din robia stricăciunii, ca să aibă parte de slobozenia slavei copiilor lui Dumnezeu.

Everything that has been made in the world will be set free from the power that can destroy. These will become free just as the children of God become free.

22 D ar ştim că pînă în ziua de azi, toată firea suspină şi sufere durerile naşterii.

We know that everything on the earth cries out with pain the same as a woman giving birth to a child.

23 Ş i nu numai ea, dar şi noi, cari avem cele dintîi roade ale Duhului, suspinăm în noi, şi aşteptăm înfierea, adică răscumpărarea trupului nostru.

We also cry inside ourselves, even we who have received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the first of God’s gifts to us. We are waiting to become His complete sons when our bodies are made free.

24 C ăci în nădejdea aceasta am fost mîntuiţi. Dar o nădejde care se vede, nu mai este nădejde: pentrucă ce se vede, se mai poate nădăjdui?

We were saved with this hope ahead of us. Now hope means we are waiting for something we do not have. How can a man hope for something he already has?

25 P e cînd, dacă nădăjduim ce nu vedem, aşteptăm cu răbdare.

But if we hope for something we do not yet see, we must learn how to wait for it.

26 Ş i tot astfel şi Duhul ne ajută în slăbiciunea noastră: căci nu ştim cum trebuie să ne rugăm. Dar însuş Duhul mijloceşte pentru noi cu suspine negrăite.

In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us where we are weak. We do not know how to pray or what we should pray for, but the Holy Spirit prays to God for us with sounds that cannot be put into words.

27 Ş i Cel ce cercetează inimile, ştie care este năzuinţa Duhului; pentrucă El mijloceşte pentru sfinţi după voia lui Dumnezeu.

God knows the hearts of men. He knows what the Holy Spirit is thinking. The Holy Spirit prays for those who belong to Christ the way God wants Him to pray.

28 D e altă parte, ştim că toate lucrurile lucrează împreună spre binele celorce iubesc pe Dumnezeu, şi anume, spre binele celorce sînt chemaţi după planul Său.

We know that God makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are chosen to be a part of His plan.

29 C ăci pe aceia, pe cari i -a cunoscut mai dinainte, i -a şi hotărît mai dinainte să fie asemenea chipului Fiului Său, pentruca El să fie cel întîi născut dintre mai mulţi fraţi.

God knew from the beginning who would put their trust in Him. So He chose them and made them to be like His Son. Christ was first and all those who belong to God are His brothers.

30 Ş i pe aceia pe cari i -a hotărît mai dinainte, i -a şi chemat; şi pe aceia pe cari i -a chemat, i -a şi socotit neprihăniţi; iar pe aceia pe cari i -a socotit neprihăniţi, i -a şi proslăvit.

He called to Himself also those He chose. Those He called, He made right with Himself. Then He shared His shining-greatness with those He made right with Himself.

31 D eci, ce vom zice noi în faţa tuturor acestor lucruri? Dacă Dumnezeu este pentru noi, cine va fi împotriva noastră?

What can we say about all these things? Since God is for us, who can be against us?

32 E l, care n'a cruţat nici chiar pe Fiul Său, ci L -a dat pentru noi toţi, cum nu ne va da fără plată, împreună cu El, toate lucrurile?

God did not keep His own Son for Himself but gave Him for us all. Then with His Son, will He not give us all things?

33 C ine va ridica pîră împotriva aleşilor lui Dumnezeu? Dumnezeu este Acela, care -i socoteşte neprihăniţi!

Who can say anything against the people God has chosen? It is God Who says they are right with Himself.

34 C ine -i va osîndi? Hristos a murit! Ba mai mult, El a şi înviat, stă la dreapta lui Dumnezeu, şi mijloceşte pentru noi!

Who then can say we are guilty? It was Christ Jesus Who died. He was raised from the dead. He is on the right side of God praying to Him for us.

35 C ine ne va despărţi pe noi de dragostea lui Hristos? Necazul, sau strîmtorarea, sau prigonirea, sau foametea, sau lipsa de îmbrăcăminte, sau primejdia sau sabia?

Who can keep us away from the love of Christ? Can trouble or problems? Can suffering wrong from others or having no food? Can it be because of no clothes or because of danger or war?

36 D upă cum este scris:,, Din pricina Ta sîntem daţi morţii toată ziua; sîntem socotiţi ca nişte oi de tăiat.``

The Holy Writings say, “Because of belonging to Jesus, we are in danger of being killed all day long. We are thought of as sheep that are ready to be killed.”

37 T otuş în toate aceste lucruri noi sîntem mai mult decît biruitori, prin Acela care ne -a iubit.

But we have power over all these things through Jesus Who loves us so much.

38 C ăci sînt bine încredinţat că nici moartea, nici viaţa, nici îngerii, nici stăpînirile, nici puterile, nici lucrurile de acum, nici cele viitoare,

For I know that nothing can keep us from the love of God. Death cannot! Life cannot! Angels cannot! Leaders cannot! Any other power cannot! Hard things now or in the future cannot!

39 n ici înălţimea, nici adîncimea, nici o altă făptură (Sau: zidire.), nu vor fi în stare să ne despartă de dragostea lui Dumnezeu, care este în Isus Hristos, Domnul nostru.

The world above or the world below cannot! Any other living thing cannot keep us away from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.
