1 “ If a man steals a bull or a sheep and kills it or sells it, he will pay five bulls for the bull and four sheep for the sheep.

Ако някой открадне вол или овца та го заколи или го продаде, то да плати пет вола за вола и четири овци за овцата.

2 I f the robber is caught while breaking in, and is hit so that he dies, the owner of the house is not guilty for his blood.

(Ако се завари крадецът когато подкопава, и го ударят та умре, няма да се пролее кръв за него.

3 B ut if the sun has risen on him, there will be guilt for his blood. The robber must pay for the loss. If he has nothing, then he must be sold for stealing.

Но ако слънцето е било изгряло над него, тогава ще се пролее кръв за него). Крадецът трябва непременно да плати; но ако няма с какво, то да се продаде той за откраднатото.

4 I f the stolen bull or donkey or sheep is found alive with him, he must pay twice what it is worth.

И ако откраднатото, било вол, осел, или овца, се намери живо в ръката му, ще плати двойно.

5 I f a man lets his cattle eat from a field or grape-field and lets his cattle loose to eat in another man’s field, he will pay for the loss from the best of his own field or grape-field.

Ако някой направи да се изяде нива или лозе, като развърже животното си и то се напасе в чужда нива, ще плати от най доброто произведение на нивата си и от най-добрия плод на лозето си.

6 “ When a fire starts and spreads to thorn bushes so as to burn up picked grain or standing grain or the field itself, he who started the fire will pay for the loss.

Ако избухне огън и запали тръни, така че изгорят копни или непожънати класове, или ниви, то който е запалил огъня непременно ще плати.

7 “ If a man gives his neighbor money or things to keep for him, and it is stolen from the man’s house, if the robber is caught he will pay twice as much as the loss.

Ако някой даде на ближния си пари или някакви вещи да ги пази, и те бъдат откраднати от къщата на човека, то, ако се намери крадецът той ще плати двойно,

8 I f the robber is not caught, then the owner of the house will be brought to the judges. They will see if he stole what belongs to his neighbor.

Но ако не се намери крадецът, тогава стопънинът на къщата ще се заведе пред съдиите, за да се издири дали е турил ръка върху имота на ближния си.

9 F or every wrong act, if it is for bull, donkey, sheep, clothing, or any lost thing about which someone says, ‘This is mine,’ the stories of both men will come in front of the judges. Whoever the judges say is guilty will pay his neighbor twice as much as the loss.

За всякакъв вид престъпление, - относно вол, осел, овца, дреха, или какво да било загубено нещо, за което би казал някой, че е негово, - делото между двамата ще дойде пред съдиите: и когото осъдят съдиите, той ще плати двойно на ближния си.

10 “ If a man gives his neighbor a donkey, bull, sheep or any animal to keep for him, and it dies or is hurt or is driven away while no one is looking,

Ако някой даде на ближния си осел, или вол, или овца, или какво да било животно да го пази, и то умре, или се нарани, или бъде откарано, без да види някой,

11 t he two men will make a promise before the Lord that he has not taken what belongs to his neighbor. The owner will take his word for it. And he will not make him pay for the loss.

то между двамата оня ще се закълне в Господа, че не е турил ръката си върху имота на ближния си, и стопанинът му ще приеме това свидетелство, а другият няма да плаща.

12 B ut if it is stolen from him, he will pay the owner for the loss.

Но ако животното бъде откраднато от него, ще плати на стопанина му.

13 I f the animal is torn to pieces, let him bring it to prove what happened. He will not pay for what has been torn to pieces.

Обаче ако бъде разкъсано от звяр, нека го донесе за свидетелство; за разкъсаното няма да плаща.

14 “ If a man asks to use anything that belongs to his neighbor, and it gets hurt or dies while its owner is not with it, the man who was using it will pay for the loss.

Ако заеме някой от ближния си животно, и то се нарани или умре в отсъствието на стопанина му, непременно ще го заплати.

15 I f its owner is with it, the man who was using it will not pay for the loss. If he paid money to use it, then the loss is paid for. Laws about Right Living

Но ако стопанинът му е с него, няма да плаща. ако е било наето с пари, ще отиде за наема си.

16 “ If a man tempts a woman who has never had a man and is not promised in marriage, and lies with her, he must pay a wedding gift for her to be his wife.

Ако някой излъсти несгодена девица и легне с нея, непременно ще даде вено за нея и ще я вземе за жена.

17 I f her father will not give her to him, he will pay the wedding gift that is to be paid for women who have never had a man.

Но ако баща й съвсем откаже да му я даде, то ще плати в пари според веното на девиците.

18 “ Do not allow a woman to live who does witchcraft.

Магьосница жена да не оставиш.

19 W hoever does sex sins with an animal will be put to death.

Всеки скотоложник непременно да се умъртви.

20 “ He who gives a gift in worship to any god other than the Lord alone will be destroyed.

Който жертвува на кой да бил бог, освен само на Господа, ще се обрече на изтребление.

21 D o not do wrong to a stranger or make it hard for him. For you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Чужденец да не онеправдаваш, нито да го угнетяваш; защото и вие бяхте чужденци в Египетската земя.

22 D o not bring trouble to any woman whose husband has died or any child whose parents have died.

Да не угнетявате вдовица или сираче.

23 I f you bring them trouble, and they cry out to Me, for sure I will hear their cry.

Защото ако ги угнетявате някак, и те извикат към Мене, непременно ще послушам вика им,

24 M y anger will burn and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will lose their husbands. And your children will lose their fathers.

и гневът Ми ще падне, и ще ви избия с нож; и вашите жени ще бъдат вдовици и вашите чада сирачета.

25 “ If you let any of the poor among My people use your money, do not act toward him like one who is owed money. And do not make him pay you for the use of it.

Ако дадеш в заем пари на някой свой беден съсед между Моите люде, да не постъпваш с него като заемодател, нито да му налагаш лихва.

26 I f you ever take your neighbor’s coat to keep while he owes you money, return it to him before the sun goes down.

Ако вземеш в залог дрехата на ближния си, до захождане на слънцето да му я върнеш;

27 F or that is his only covering. It is his clothing for his body. What else will he sleep in? When he cries out to Me, I will hear him. For I have loving-pity.

защото това е едничката му завивка, това е дрехата за кожата му; с какво ще спи? и като викне към Мене, Аз ще чуя, защото съм милостив.

28 “ Do not curse God, or a ruler of your people.

Да не хулиш съдиите, нито да кълнеш началник на людете си.

29 D o not wait before giving Me a gift from your gathered grain and the fruit of your fields. You will give to Me the first-born of your sons.

Да не забравиш да принесеш първака на гумното си и на жлеба си. Първородния между синовете си ще дадеш на Мене.

30 Y ou will do the same with your cattle and your sheep. The first-born will be with its mother seven days. On the eighth day you will give it to Me.

Така ще постъпиш и с говедото си и с овцата си; седем дена ще остане малкото с майка си, а на седмия ден ще го дадеш на Мене.

31 Y ou will be holy men to Me. So you will not eat any flesh torn to pieces in the field. You will throw it to the dogs.

Бъдете Ми свети човеци; затова не яжте месо разкъсано от зверове на полето; хвърлете го на кучетата.
