1 W hy do You stand far away, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

Pentruce stai aşa de departe, Doamne? Pentruce Te ascunzi la vreme de necaz?

2 T he sinful, in their pride, try to catch the weak. Let them be caught in the plans they have made.

Cel rău, în mîndria lui, urmăreşte pe cei nenorociţi, şi ei cad jertfă curselor urzite de el.

3 T he sinful man is proud of the desires of his heart. He praises those who want everything but he speaks against the Lord.

Căci cel rău se făleşte cu pofta lui, iar răpitorul batjocoreşte şi nesocoteşte pe Domnul.

4 T he sinful man in his pride does not look for God. All his thoughts are that there is no God.

Cel rău zice cu trufie:,, Nu pedepseşte Domnul! Nu este Dumnezeu!`` Iată toate gîndurile lui.

5 H is ways always go well for him. Your laws are too high for him to see. He laughs at those who hate him.

Treburile îi merg bine în orice vreme; judecăţile Tale sînt prea înalte pentru el, ca să le poată vedea, şi suflă cu dispreţ împotriva tuturor protivnicilor lui.

6 H e says to himself, “I will not be moved. For all time, I will never have trouble.”

El zice în inima lui:,, Nu mă clatin, în veci sînt scutit de nenorocire!``

7 W ith his mouth he swears and lies. He makes it hard for other people. Trouble and sin are under his tongue.

Gura îi este plină de blesteme, de înşelătorii şi de vicleşuguri; şi supt limbă are răutate şi fărădelege.

8 H e lies hidden in the towns, waiting to kill those who are not guilty. His eyes are always watching for the weak.

Stă la pîndă lîngă sate, şi ucide pe cel nevinovat în locuri dosnice: ochii lui pîndesc pe cel nenorocit.

9 H e lies in wait like a hidden lion. He lies in wait to catch the weak, and they become caught in his net.

Stă la pîndă în ascunzătoarea lui, ca leul în vizuină: stă la pîndă să prindă pe cel nenorocit. Îl prinde, şi -l trage în laţul lui:

10 T he weak are hurt and they fall. They cannot stand under his strength.

se îndoaie, se pleacă, şi -i cad săracii în ghiare!

11 H e says to himself, “God has forgotten. He has hidden His face and will never see it.”

El zice în inima lui:,, Dumnezeu uită! Îşi ascunde Faţa şi în veac nu va vedea!``

12 R ise up, O Lord! Lift up Your hand, O God. Do not forget the weak.

Scoală-Te, Doamne, Dumnezeule, ridică mîna! Nu uita pe cei nenorociţi!

13 W hy does the sinful man turn away from God? He has said to himself, “You will not ask it of me.”

Pentruce să hulească cel rău pe Dumnezeu? Pentruce să zică în inima lui că Tu nu pedepseşti?

14 B ut You have seen it. You look upon trouble and suffering, to take it into Your hands. The suffering man gives himself to You. You are the Helper of the one who has no father.

Dar Tu vezi; căci Tu priveşti necazul şi suferinţa, ca să iei în mînă pricina lor. În nădejdea Ta se lasăcel nenorocit, şi Tu vii în ajutor orfanului.

15 B reak the arm of the bad and sinful man. Find out all his sins until You find no more.

Zdrobeşte braţul celui rău, pedepseşte -i fărădelegile, ca să piară din ochii Tăi!

16 T he Lord is King forever and ever. Those who worship false gods will be taken from the land.

Domnul este Împărat în veci de veci; neamurile sînt nimicite din ţara Lui.

17 O Lord, You have heard the prayers of those who have no pride. You will give strength to their heart, and You will listen to them.

Tu auzi rugăciunile celor ce sufăr, Doamne! Le întăreşti inima, Îţi pleci urechea spre ei,

18 I n this way, You will do the right thing for those without a father and those who suffer, so that man who is of the earth will no longer make them afraid.

ca să faci dreptate orfanului şi celui asuprit, şi ca să nu mai însufle groaza omul cel luat din pămînt.
