1 K eep me, O God, for I am safe in You.

(O cîntare a lui David.) Păzeşte-mă, Dumnezeule, căci în Tine mă încred.

2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord. All the good things I have come from You.”

Eu zic Domnului:,, Tu eşti Domnul meu, Tu eşti singura mea fericire!``

3 A s for those in the land who belong to You, they are the great ones in whom is all my joy.

Sfinţii, cari sînt în ţară, oamenii evlavioşi, sînt toată plăcerea mea.

4 T hose who have traded for another god bring many troubles on themselves. I will not take part in their altar gifts of blood. And I will not take their names upon my lips.

Idolii se înmulţesc, oamenii aleargă după dumnezei străini, dar eu n'aduc jertfele lor de sînge, şi nu pun numele lor pe buzele mele.

5 T he Lord is all that I am to receive, and my cup. My future is in Your hands.

Domnul este partea mea de moştenire şi paharul meu, Tu îmi îndrepţi sorţul meu.

6 T he land given to me is good. Yes, my share is beautiful to me.

O moştenire plăcută mi -a căzut la sorţ, o frumoasă moşie mi -a fost dată.

7 I will give honor and thanks to the Lord, Who has told me what to do. Yes, even at night my mind teaches me.

Eu binecuvintez pe Domnul, care mă sfătuieşte, căci pînă şi noaptea îmi dă îndemnuri inima.

8 I have placed the Lord always in front of me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved.

Am necurmat pe Domnul înaintea ochilor mei: cînd este El la dreapta mea, nu mă clatin.

9 A nd so my heart is glad. My soul is full of joy. My body also will rest without fear.

De aceea inima mi se bucură, sufletul mi se veseleşte, şi trupul mi se odihneşte în linişte.

10 F or You will not give me over to the grave. And You will not allow Your Holy One to return to dust.

Căci nu vei lăsa sufletul meu în locuinţa morţilor, nu vei îngădui ca prea iubitul Tău să vadă putrezirea.

11 Y ou will show me the way of life. Being with You is to be full of joy. In Your right hand there is happiness forever.

Îmi vei arăta cărarea vieţii; înaintea Feţei Tale sînt bucurii nespuse, şi desfătări vecinice în dreapta Ta.
