1 A wake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion. Put on your beautiful clothes, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For those who have not gone through the religious act of becoming a Jew and those who are unclean will not come into you any more.

Trezeşte-te, trezeşte-te! îmbracă-te în podoaba ta, Sioane! Pune-ţi hainele de sărbătoare, Ierusalime, cetate sfîntă! Căci nu va mai intra în tine nici un om netăiat împrejur sau necurat.

2 S hake off the dust. Rise up, O Jerusalem, who has been taken into prison. Loose yourself from the chains around your neck, O chained people of Zion who are in prison.

Scutură-ţi ţărîna de pe tine, scoală-te, şi şezi în capul oaselor, Ierusalime! Desleagă-ţi legăturile dela gît, fiică, roabă a Sionului!

3 F or the Lord says, “You were sold for nothing, and you will be bought without money and made free.”

Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Fără plată aţi fost vînduţi, şi nu veţi fi răscumpăraţi cu preţ de argint.`

4 F or the Lord God says, “My people went down at first to Egypt to live there. Then the Assyrian made it hard for them without a reason.

Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Odinioară poporul Meu s'a pogorît să locuiască pentru o vreme în Egipt; apoi Asirianul l -a asuprit fără temei.

5 S o now what do I have here,” says the Lord, “Seeing that My people have been taken away for no reason?” The Lord says, “Those who rule over them call out in a loud voice and My name is spoken against all day long.

Şi acum, ce am să fac aici-zice Domnul-cînd poporul Meu a fost luat pe nimic?``,, Asupritorii lui strigă de bucurie-zice Domnul-şi cît e ziulica de mare este batjocorit Numele Meu.

6 S o My people will know My name. In that day they will know that it is I Who says, ‘Here I am.’”

De aceea poporul Meu va cunoaşte Numele Meu; de aceea va şti, în ziua aceea, că Eu vorbesc şi zic:, Iată-Mă!`

7 H ow beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who tells of peace and brings good news of happiness, who tells of saving power, and says to Zion, “Your God rules!”

Ce frumoase sînt pe munţi, picioarele celui ce aduce veşti bune, care vesteşte pacea, picioarele celui ce aduce veşti bune, care vesteşte mîntuirea! Picioarele celui ce zice Sionului:, Dumnezeul tău împărăţeşte!``

8 L isten! Your watchmen lift up their voices. They call out together for joy, for they will see with their own eyes the return of the Lord to Zion.

Iată, glasul străjerilor tăi răsună; ei înalţă glasul, şi strigă toţi de veselie; căci văd cu ochii lor cum Se întoarce Domnul în Sion.

9 B reak out together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord has comforted His people. He has saved Jerusalem.

Izbucniţi cu toate în strigăte de bucurie, dărămături ale Ierusalimului! Căci Domnul mîngîie pe poporul Său, şi răscumpără Ierusalimul.

10 T he Lord has shown His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, that all the ends of the earth may see that our God saves.

Domnul Îşi descopere braţul Său cel sfînt, înaintea tuturor neamurilor; şi toate marginile pămîntului vor vedea mîntuirea Dumnezeului nostru.``

11 L eave, leave, go from them. Touch nothing that is unclean. Leave and make yourselves pure, you who carry the holy objects of the Lord.

Plecaţi, plecaţi, ieşiţi din Babilon! Nu vă atingeţi de nimic necurat! Ieşiţi din mijlocul lui! Curăţiţi-vă, cei ce purtaţi vasele Domnului!

12 B ut you will not go out in a hurry. You will not leave as if you were running for your lives. For the Lord will go before you. And the God of Israel will keep watch behind you. The Suffering Servant

Nu ieşiţi cu grabă, nu plecaţi în fugă; căci Domnul vă va ieşi înainte şi Dumnezeul lui Israel vă va tăia calea.``

13 S ee, My Servant will do well. He will be high and lifted up and honored very much.

Iată, Robul Meu va propăşi; Se va sui, Se va ridica, Se va înălţa foarte sus.

14 J ust as many looked in wonder at you, My people, so His face was marked worse than any man, and His body more than the sons of men.

După cum pentru mulţi a fost o pricină de groază-atît de schimonosită Îi era faţa, şi atît de mult se deosebea înfăţişarea Lui de a fiilor oamenilor-

15 H e will surprise many nations. Kings will shut their mouths because of Him. What they had never been told about Him, they will see. And what they had never heard about Him, they will understand.

tot aşa, pentru multe popoare va fi o pricină de bucurie; înaintea Lui împăraţii vor închide gura, căci vor vedea ce nu li se mai istorisise, şi vor auzi ce nu mai auziseră.
