1 Y ou are right and good, O Lord, when I complain to You about my trouble. Yet I would like to talk with You about what is fair. Why does the way of the sinful go well? Why do all those who cannot be trusted have it so easy?

Tu eşti prea drept, Doamne, ca să mă cert cu Tine; vreau totuş să Te întreb asupra orînduirilor Tale. Pentruce propăşeşte calea celor răi, şi toţi mişeii trăiesc în pace?

2 Y ou have planted them, and they have taken root. They grow and have given fruit. You are near on their lips but far from their heart.

I-ai sădit, au prins rădăcină, cresc, fac rod. Ce -i drept, eşti aproape de gura lor, dar departe de inima lor!

3 B ut You know me, O Lord. You see me. And You test how my heart is with You. Take them off like sheep to be killed. Set them apart for the day of killing.

Totuş, Tu, Doamne, mă cunoşti, mă vezi, îmi cercetezi inima şi vezi că este cu Tine. Ia -i ca pe nişte oi, cari trebuiesc tăiate, şi pregăteşte -i pentru ziua măcelului!

4 H ow long will the land be filled with sorrow? How long will the grass of every field dry up? For the sin of those who live in it, animals and birds have been taken away, because men have said, “He will not see what happens to us.” God’s Answer

Pînă cînd să se jălească ţara, şi să se usuce iarba de pe toate cîmpiile? Pier vitele şi păsările din pricina răutăţii locuitorilor. Căci ei zic:, El, (Ieremia) n'are să ne vadă sfîrşitul!`` -

5 “ If you have run with men on foot and they have made you tired, then how can you run as fast as horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, how will you do among all the trees beside the Jordan?

Dacă alergînd cu cei ce aleargă pe picioare, ei te obosesc, cum vei putea să te iei la întrecere cu nişte cai? Şi dacă nu te crezi la adăpost decît într'o ţară liniştită, ce vei face pe malurile îngîmfate ale Iordanului?

6 F or even your brothers and those of your father’s house have not been faithful to you. They have cried to you in a loud voice. Do not believe them, even if they say pleasing things to you.” The Lord’s Sorrow for Israel

Căci chiar fraţii tăi şi casa tatălui tău te vînd, ei înşişi strigă în gura mare după tine. Nu -i crede cînd îţi vor spune vorbe prietenoase.``

7 “ I have left My house. I have left My chosen nation. I have given the loved one of My soul into the hand of those who hate her.

Mi-am părăsit casa, şi Mi-am lăsat moştenirea, Mi-am dat pe iubita Mea în mîinile vrăjmaşilor ei.

8 M y chosen nation has become to Me like a lion among the trees. She has raised her voice against Me, so I hate her.

Moştenirea Mea a ajuns pentru Mine ca un leu în pădure, a mugit împotriva Mea; şi de aceea o urăsc.

9 I s My chosen nation like a spot-covered, flesh-eating bird to Me? Are the flesh-eating birds against her on every side? Go, gather all the wild animals of the field, and bring them to eat.

A ajuns oare moştenirea Mea pentru Mine o pasăre de pradă pestriţă, în jurul căreia se strîng păsările de pradă?``,, Duceţi-vă, şi strîngeţi toate fiarele cîmpului, şi aduceţi-le ca s'o mănînce!``

10 M any shepherds have destroyed My grape-field. They have crushed My field under foot. They have turned My good field to an empty desert.

Un mare număr de păstori îmi pustiesc via, îmi calcă ogorul în picioare; ogorul meu cel plăcut îl prefac într'un pustiu părăsit.

11 I t has been laid waste. Destroyed and empty, it cries with sorrow before Me. The whole land has been laid waste, because no one cares.

Îl pustiesc, şi el stă trist şi pustiit înaintea mea. Toată ţara este pustiită, căci nimeni nu ia seama la ea.

12 O n all the open hill-tops in the desert, destroyers have come. For the sword of the Lord destroys from one end of the land to the other. There is no peace for anyone.

Peste toate înălţimile pustiei vin pustiitori, căci sabia Domnului mănîncă ţara dela un capăt la altul; şi nimeni nu -i lăsat în pace.

13 T hey have planted grain and have gathered thorns. They have worked hard, but have nothing. Be ashamed of what you gather because of the burning anger of the Lord.” Israel’s Neighbors

Au semănat grîu, şi seceră spini, s'au ostenit fără folos.``,, Să vă fie ruşine de ce culegeţi, în urma mîniei aprinse a Domnului!``

14 T his is what the Lord says about all My sinful neighbors who take the gift I have given to My people Israel: “See, I am about to pull them up by the roots from their land. And I will pull up the people of Judah by the roots from among them.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul despre toţi vecinii mei cei răi, cari se ating de moştenirea pe care am dat -o poporului Meu Israel:, Iată, îi voi smulge din ţara lor, şi voi smulge casa lui Iuda din mijlocul lor.

15 B ut after I have pulled them up by the roots, I will have loving-pity on them again, and will bring them back. I will return each one to what he has been given and to his land.

Dar după ce -i voi smulge, voi avea iarăş milă de ei, şi -i voi aduce înapoi pe fiecare în moştenirea lui, şi pe fiecare în ţara lui.

16 T hen if they will for sure learn the ways of My people, and promise by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ even as they taught My people to promise by Baal, then they will be built up among My people.

Şi dacă vor învăţa căile poporului Meu, dacă vor jura pe Numele Meu, zicînd:, Viu este Domnul!` cum au învăţat pe poporul Meu să jure pe Baal, atunci vor fi fericiţi în mijlocul poporului Meu.

17 B ut if they will not listen, then I will pull that nation up by the roots and destroy it,” says the Lord.

Dar dacă nu vor asculta nimic, voi nimici cu desăvîrşire pe un astfel de popor, îl voi nimici şi îl voi pierde, zice Domnul.``
