2 I looked to the Lord when I was in trouble. I put out my hand at night, and it did not get tired. My soul would not be comforted.

În ziua necazului meu, caut pe Domnul; noaptea, mînile îmi stau întinse fără curmare; sufletul meu nu vrea nicio mîngîiere.

3 W hen I remember God, then I am troubled. When I am in deep thought, then my spirit becomes weak.

Mi-aduc aminte de Dumnezeu, şi gem; mă gîndesc adînc în mine, şi mi se mîhneşte duhul. -

4 Y ou keep my eyes from closing. I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

Tu îmi ţii ploapele deschise; şi, de mult ce mă frămînt, nu pot vorbi.

5 I have thought about the days of old, the years of long ago.

Mă gîndesc la zilele de demult, la anii de odinioară.

6 I remember my song in the night. I think with my heart. And my spirit asks questions.

Mă gîndesc la cîntările mele noaptea, cuget adînc în lăuntrul inimii mele, îmi cade duhul pe gînduri, şi zic:

7 W ill the Lord turn away forever? Will He never show favor again?

Va lepăda Domnul pentru totdeauna? Şi nu va mai fi El binevoitor?

8 H as His loving-kindness stopped forever? Has His promise come to an end for all time?

S'a isprăvit bunătatea Lui pe vecie? S'a dus făgăduinţa Lui pentru totdeauna?

9 H as God forgotten to be loving and kind? Has He in anger taken away His loving-pity?

A uitat Dumnezeu să aibă milă? Şi -a tras El, în mînia Lui, înapoi îndurarea?`` -

10 T hen I said, “It is my sorrow that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

Atunci îmi zic:,, Ceeace mă face să sufăr, este că dreapta Celui Prea Înalt nu mai este aceeaş``...

11 I will remember the things the Lord has done. Yes, I will remember the powerful works of long ago.

Dar tot voi lăuda lucrările Domnului, căci îmi aduc aminte de minunile Tale de odinioară;

12 I will think of all Your work, and keep in mind all the great things You have done.

da, mă voi gîndi la toate lucrările Tale, şi voi lua aminte la toate isprăvile Tale.

13 O God, Your way is holy. What god is great like our God?

Dumnezeule, căile Tale sînt sfinte! Care Dumnezeu este mare ca Dumnezeul nostru?

14 Y ou are the God Who does great works. You have shown Your power among the people.

Tu eşti Dumnezeul, care faci minuni; Tu Ţi-ai arătat puterea printre popoare.

15 Y ou have set free Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph, with Your strong arm.

Prin braţul Tău, Tu ai izbăvit pe poporul Tău, pe fiii lui Iacov şi ai lui Iosif.

16 T he waters saw You, O God. The waters saw You and shook. The sea shook also.

Cînd Te-au văzut apele, Dumnezeule, cînd Te-au văzut apele, s'au cutremurat, şi adîncurile s'au mişcat.

17 T he clouds poured down water. The sky sounded with thunder. Your arrows of lightning went this way and that.

Norii au turnat apă cu găleata, tunetul a răsunat în nori, şi săgeţile Tale au sburat în toate părţile.

18 T he sound of Your thunder was in the turning wind. The lightning lit up the world. The earth shook.

Tunetul Tău a isbucnit în vîrtej de vînt, fulgerile au luminat lumea: pămîntul s'a mişcat şi s'a cutremurat.

19 Y our way was through the sea. Your paths went through the powerful waters. And it cannot be known where You stepped.

Ţi-ai croit un drum prin mare, o cărare prin apele cele mari, şi nu Ţi s'au mai cunoscut urmele.

20 Y ou led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Ai povăţuit pe poporul Tău ca pe o turmă, prin mîna lui Moise şi Aaron.
