1 T hen King David said to all the people, “My son Solomon is the one God has chosen. He is still young and has not had much time to know what to do. It is a very big work because this beautiful house is not for man, but for the Lord God.

Împăratul David a zis întregei adunări:,, Fiul meu Solomon, singurul pe care l -a ales Dumnezeu, este tînăr şi plăpînd, şi lucrarea este însemnată, căci casa aceasta nu este pentru un om, ci este pentru Domnul Dumnezeu.

2 I have given all that I have been able to give for the house of my God. I have given the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass. I have given the iron for the things of iron, and the wood for the things of wood. I have given stones of much worth, stones for setting, silver-white stones, and stones of different colors. I have given all kinds of stones of much worth, and many smooth, special white stones.

Mi-am întrebuinţat toate puterile să pregătesc pentru Casa Dumnezeului meu aur pentru ceea ce trebuie să fie de aur, argint pentru ceea ce trebuie să fie de argint, aramă pentru ceea ce trebuie să fie de aramă, fer pentru ceea ce trebuie să fie de fer, şi lemn pentru ceea ce trebuie să fie de lemn, pietre de onix şi pietre scumpe de legat, pietre strălucitoare şi de felurite colori, tot felul de pietre scumpe, şi marmoră albă multă.

3 T he house of my God means much to me. I have much gold and silver and I give it to the house of my God, together with all I have already given for the holy house.

Mai mult, în dragostea mea pentru Casa Dumnezeului meu, dau Casei Dumnezeului meu aurul şi argintul pe care -l am, afară de tot ce am pregătit pentru casa sfîntului locaş:

4 I gave gold weighing as much as 3, 000 men, of the gold of Ophir. I gave fine silver weighing as much as 7, 000 men, to cover the walls of the house.

5 I gave gold for the things of gold, and silver for the things of silver for all the work done by the able men. Now who is willing to give himself and be set apart today to the Lord?”

6 T hen the rulers of the families gave because they wanted to. The leaders of the family groups of Israel, the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and those who watched over the king’s work gave because they wanted to.

Căpeteniile caselor părinteşti, căpeteniile seminţiilor lui Israel, căpeteniile peste mii şi peste sute, şi îngrijitorii averii împăratului au adus daruri de bunăvoie.

7 F or the work of the house of God, they gave gold weighing as much as 5, 000 men, and 10, 000 gold pieces. They gave silver weighing as much as 10, 000 men. They gave brass weighing as much as 18, 000 men, and iron weighing as much as 100, 000 men.

Au dat pentru slujba Casei lui Dumnezeu: cinci mii de talanţi de aur, zece mii de darici, zece mii de talanţi de argint, optsprezece mii de talanţi de aramă, şi o sută de mii de talanţi de fer.

8 A nd whoever had stones of much worth gave them to the store-house of the house of the Lord, in the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Cei ce aveau pietre scumpe le-au dat pentru vistieria Casei Domnului în mînile lui Iehiel, Gherşonitul.

9 T hen the people were filled with joy because they had been so willing to give. They gave their gift to the Lord with a whole heart. And King David was filled with great joy. David’s Praise to God

Poporul s'a bucurat de darurile lor de bunăvoie, căci le dădeau cu dragă inimă Domnului; şi împăratul David deasemenea s'a bucurat mult.

10 S o David praised the Lord in front of all the people. He said, “Honor and thanks be to You, O Lord God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

David a binecuvîntat pe Domnul în faţa întregei adunări. El a zis:,, Binecuvîntat să fii Tu din veac în veac, Doamne, Dumnezeul părintelui nostru Israel!

11 O Lord, You have great power, shining-greatness and strength. Yes, everything in heaven and on earth belongs to You. You are the King, O Lord. And You are honored as head over all.

A Ta este, Doamne, mărirea, puterea şi măreţia, vecinicia şi slava, căci tot ce este în cer şi pe pămînt este al Tău; a Ta, Doamne, este domnia, căci Tu Te înalţi ca un stăpîn mai pesus de orice!

12 B oth riches and honor come from You. You rule over all. Power and strength are in Your hand. The power is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all.

Dela Tine vine bogăţia şi slava, Tu stăpîneşti peste tot, în mîna Ta este tăria şi puterea, şi mîna Ta poate să mărească şi să întărească toate lucrurile.

13 S o now, our God, we thank You. We praise Your great and honored name.

Acum, Dumnezeul nostru, Te lăudăm, şi prea mărim Numele Tău cel slăvit.

14 “ But who am I and who are my people, that we should be able to give so much? For all things come from You. We have given You only what already belongs to You.

Căci ce sînt eu, şi ce este poporul meu, ca să putem să-Ţi aducem daruri de bună voie? Totul vine dela Tine, şi din mîna Ta primim ce-Ţi aducem.

15 W e are strangers before You. We are just staying here for a time, as all our fathers did. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and without hope.

Înaintea Ta noi sîntem nişte străini şi locuitori, ca toţi părinţii noştri. Zilele noastre pe pămînt sînt ca umbra, şi fără nici o nădejde.

16 O Lord our God, from Your hand are all these many things that we have given to build You a house for Your holy name. It all belongs to You.

Doamne, Dumnezeul nostru, din mîna Ta vin toate aceste bogăţii, pe cari le-am pregătit ca să-Ţi zidim o casă, Ţie, Numelui Tău celui sfînt, şi ale Tale sînt toate.

17 O my God, I know that You test the heart and are pleased with what is right. I have given these things because I have wanted to with a clean heart. And now I have seen with joy how Your people who are here give gifts to You because they want to.

Ştiu, Dumnezeule, că Tu cercetezi inima, şi că iubeşti curăţia de inimă; de aceea Ţi-am adus toate aceste daruri de bunăvoie în curăţia inimii mele, şi am văzut acum cu bucurie pe poporul Tău, care se află aici, aducîndu-Ţi de bunăvoie darurile lui.

18 O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the thoughts of the hearts of Your people. Lead their hearts to You.

Doamne, Dumnezeul părinţilor noştri Avraam, Isaac şi Israel! Ţine totdeauna în inima poporului Tău aceste porniri şi aceste gînduri, şi întăreşte -i inima în Tine.

19 G ive my son Solomon a perfect heart to keep Your Words and Your Laws and to obey them all. And so let him build the beautiful house I have planned and given for.”

Dă fiului meu Solomon o inimă bună, ca să păzească poruncile Tale, învăţăturile Tale, şi legile Tale, ca să împlinească toate aceste lucruri, şi să zidească el casa pentru care am făcut pregătiri.``

20 T hen David said to all the people, “Now praise the Lord your God.” And all the people gave praise to the Lord, the God of their fathers. They bowed low to the ground before the Lord and the king.

David a zis întregei adunări:,, Binecuvîntaţi pe Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.`` Şi toată adunarea a binecuvîntat pe Domnul, Dumnezeul părinţilor lor. Ei s'au plecat şi s'au închinat înaintea Domnului şi înaintea împăratului.

21 O n the next day they killed animals and gave burnt gifts in worship to the Lord. They gave 1, 000 bulls, 1, 000 rams and 1, 000 lambs, with their drink gifts. They gave many gifts in worship for all Israel.

A doua zi după aceasta, au adus ca jertfă şi ardere de tot Domnului o mie de viţei, o mie de berbeci şi o mie de miei, împreună cu jertfele de băutură obicinuite, şi alte jertfe în mare număr pentru tot Israelul.

22 S o they ate and drank that day with great joy before the Lord. They made David’s son Solomon king a second time. They poured oil on him to set him apart as ruler for the Lord. And they set Zadok apart as religious leader.

Au mîncat şi au băut în ziua aceea înaintea Domnului cu mare bucurie, au făcut a doua oară împărat pe Solomon, fiul lui David, l-au uns înaintea Domnului ca domn, şi au uns pe Ţadoc ca preot.

23 T hen Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of his father David. Everything went well for him, and all Israel obeyed him.

Solomon a şezut pe scaunul de domnie al Domnului, ca împărat în locul tatălui său David. El a propăşit, şi tot Israelul l -a ascultat.

24 A ll the leaders and the powerful men and all the sons of King David promised to be faithful to King Solomon.

Toate căpeteniile şi vitejii, şi chiar toţi fiii împăratului David s'au supus împăratului Solomon.

25 T he Lord brought much honor to Solomon in the eyes of all Israel. He gave him greater power than any king before him in Israel.

Domnul a înălţat tot mai mult pe Solomon, supt ochii întregului Israel, şi i -a făcut domnia mai strălucită decît a fost a oricărui împărat al lui Israel înaintea lui.

26 S o David the son of Jesse ruled over all Israel.

David, fiul lui Isai, a domnit peste tot Israelul.

27 A nd he ruled over Israel for forty years. He ruled in Hebron seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three years.

Vremea cît a domnit peste Israel a fost de patruzeci de ani: la Hebron a domnit şapte ani, şi la Ierusalim a domnit treizeci şi trei de ani.

28 T hen he died as an old man. He had lived many years, had many riches and much honor. And his son Solomon ruled in his place.

A murit la o bătrîneţă fericită, sătul de zile, de bogăţie şi de slavă. Şi în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Solomon.

29 T he acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the books of Samuel, Nathan, and Gad, the men of God.

Faptele împăratului David, cele dintîi şi cele depe urmă, sînt scrise în cartea lui Samuel văzătorul, şi în cartea proorocului Natan şi în cartea proorocului Gad,

30 T hey tell of all his rule, his power, and of the things which happened to him, to Israel, and to all the nations of the lands.
