1 T he Word of the Lord came to me saying,

Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit, astfel:

2 “ Son of man, speak in My name and say, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “Cry in a loud voice, ‘It is bad for that day!’

Fiul omului, prooroceşte, şi spune:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,, Văitaţi-vă!... Nenorocită zi!

3 F or the day is near. The day of the Lord is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of trouble for the nations.

Căci se apropie ziua, se apropie ziua Domnului, zi întunecoasă: aceasta va fi vremea neamurilor.

4 A sword will come against Egypt, and Ethiopia will be very troubled. When the people are killed in Egypt, her riches will be taken away, and her country destroyed.

Sabia va pătrunde în Egipt, şi în Etiopia va fi groază, cînd vor cădea morţii în Egipt, cînd i se vor ridica bogăţiile, şi i se vor răsturna temeliile.

5 E thiopia, Put, Lud, all of Arabia, Libya, and the people of Israel living there, all who have an agreement with Egypt will be killed by the sword.”’”

Etiopia, Put, Lud, toată Arabia, Cub, şi fiii ţării unite cu ele, vor cădea împreună cu ei loviţi de sabie.`

6 ‘ The Lord says, “Those who help Egypt will be killed in battle. The pride of her power will come down. From Migdol to Syene they will be killed by the sword,” says the Lord God.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Sprijinitorii Egiptului vor cădea, şi mîndria tăriei lui se va prăbuşi! Din Migdol pînă la Siene vor cădea loviţi de sabie, zice Domnul Dumnezeu.`

7 “ They will be a waste among the lands that are laid waste. And her cities will be among the destroyed cities.

Vor fi pustiiţi între alte ţări pustiite, şi cetăţile lui vor fi nimicite în mijlocul altor cetăţi nimicite.

8 T hen they will know that I am the Lord, when I start a fire in Egypt and all those who help her are destroyed.

Şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd voi pune foc în Egipt, şi cînd toţi sprijinitorii lui vor fi zdrobiţi.

9 O n that day I will send men in ships to bring fear to Ethiopians who think they are safe. They will be troubled and afraid as when Egypt is destroyed, for their day is coming!”

În ziua aceea nişte soli se vor duce din partea mea cu corăbiile să turbure Etiopia în liniştea ei; şi -i va apuca spaimă mare în ziua Egiptului; căci iată că lucrurile acestea se întîmplă!`

10 T he Lord God says, “I will put an end to Egypt’s riches by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu:, Voi pierde mulţimea Egiptului, prin mîna lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului.

11 H e and his people show the least pity of all the nations, and they will be brought in to destroy the land. They will use their swords against Egypt and fill the land with dead bodies.

El şi poporul lui cu el, cel mai grozav dintre popoare, vor fi trimeşi să nimicească ţara. Vor scoate sabia împotriva Egiptului, şi vor umplea ţara de morţi.

12 A nd I will dry up the Nile River and sell the land to sinful men. I will destroy the land and everything in it, by the hand of strangers. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

Canalurile le voi seca, voi da ţara în mînile celor răi; voi pustii ţara cu tot ce cuprinde ea, prin mîna străinilor. Eu, Domnul, am vorbit!` -

13 ‘ The Lord God says, “I will also destroy the false gods and put an end to the objects of worship in Memphis. There will no longer be a leader in the land of Egypt, so I will put fear in the land.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Voi nimici idolii, şi voi stîrpi din Nof chipurile deşerte. Nu va mai fi niciun voivod din ţara Egiptului, şi voi răspîndi groaza în ţara Egiptului.

14 I will destroy Pathros, start a fire in Zoan, and punish Thebes.

Voi pustii Patrosul, voi pune foc Ţoanului, şi-Mi voi aduce la îndeplinire judecăţile asupra Noului.

15 I will be angry with Pelusium, the strong city of Egypt. And I will destroy the riches of Thebes.

Îmi voi vărsa urgia asupra Sinului, cetăţuia Egiptului, şi voi nimici cu desăvîrşire mulţimea din No.

16 I will start a fire in Egypt. Pelusium will suffer much. Thebes will be broken open. And Memphis will not have rest from troubles and fear.

Voi pune foc Egiptului; Sinul va fi cuprins de spaimă. No va fi deschis prin spărtură, şi Noful cucerit ziua nameaza mare de vrăjmaşi.

17 T he young men of On and Pi-beseth will be killed in battle, and the women will be taken away.

Tinerii din On şi din Pi-Beset vor cădea ucişi de sabie, şi cetăţile acestea se vor duce în robie.

18 A t Tehaphnehes the day will be dark when I break the power of Egypt. The pride of her strength will come to an end. A cloud will cover her, and her daughters will be taken away.

La Tahpanes se va întuneca ziua, cînd voi sfărîma jugul Egiptului, şi cînd se va sfîrşi mîndria tăriei lui; un nor va acoperi Tahpanesul, şi cetăţile lui vor merge în robie.

19 S o I will punish Egypt, and they will know that I am the Lord.’” Word against Pharaoh

Îmi voi aduce astfel la îndeplinire judecăţile asupra Egiptului, şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.`

20 O n the seventh day of the first month in the eleventh year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

În anul al unsprezecelea, în ziua a şaptea a lunii întîi, Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

21 “ Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And it has not been wrapped so that it could heal and be strong enough to hold the sword.

Fiul omului, am frînt braţul lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului; şi iată că nu -i vor lega rana ca să se vindece, nu -l vor obloji cu legături, nu -l vor lega ca să se întremeze, şi să poată mîntui sabia.`

22 S o the Lord God says, ‘I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong one and the one already broken. And I will make the sword fall from his hand.

De aceea aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: Iată, am necaz pe Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, şi -i voi rupe braţele, pe cel tare şi pe cel frînt, ca să -i cadă sabia din mînă.

23 I will divide the Egyptians among the nations and spread them out among the lands.

Iar pe Egipteni îi voi împrăştia printre neamuri, şi -i voi risipi în felurite ţări.

24 F or I will give strength to the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand, and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he will cry in pain in front of him like a dying man in battle.

În schimb, voi întări braţele împăratului Babilonului, şi -i voi pune o sabie în mînă; iar braţele lui Faraon le voi frînge, ca să geamă înaintea lui cum gem cei răniţi de moarte.

25 I will give strength to the arms of the king of Babylon, but Pharaoh’s arms will fall. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I give My sword to the king of Babylon and he uses it against the land of Egypt.

Dar voi întări braţele împăratului Babilonului, iar braţele lui Faraon vor cădea. Şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd voi pune sabia Mea în mîna împăratului Babilonului, şi cînd o va întoarce împotriva ţării Egiptului.

26 I will make the Egyptians go to the different nations and spread them out among the lands. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

Voi împrăştia pe Egipteni printre neamuri, îi voi risipi în felurite ţări, şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.``
