1 W e give thanks to You, O God. We give thanks that Your name is near. Men tell about the great things You have done.

(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor.,, Nu nimici.`` Un psalm al lui Asaf. O cîntare.) Te lăudăm, Dumnezeule, Te lăudăm; noi, cari chemăm Numele Tău, vestim minunile Tale!

2 Y ou say, “When the right time has come, I will be right and fair in deciding who is guilty or not.

Atunci cînd va veni vremea hotărîtă,`` zice Domnul,,, voi judeca fără părtinire.

3 W hen the earth and all its people shake, it is I Who will hold it together.

Poate să se cutremure pămîntul cu locuitorii lui: căci Eu îi întăresc stîlpii.`` -(Oprire).

4 I said to the proud, ‘Do not speak with pride.’ And I said to the sinful, ‘Do not lift up the horn.

Eu zic celor ce se fălesc:,, Nu vă făliţi!`` Şi celor răi:,, Nu ridicaţi capul sus!``

5 D o not lift your horn up high. Do not speak in your pride.’”

Nu vă ridicaţi capul aşa de sus, nu vorbiţi cu atîta trufie!

6 F or honor does not come from the east or the west or from the desert.

Căci nici dela răsărit, nici dela apus, nici din pustie, nu vine înălţarea.

7 B ut God is the One Who decides. He puts down one and brings respect to another.

Ci Dumnezeu este Cel ce judecă: El scoboară pe unul, şi înalţă pe altul.

8 F or there is a cup in the Lord’s hand. It is full of strong wine that is well mixed. He pours out from it, and all the sinful people of the earth must drink all of it.

În mîna Domnului este un potir, în care fierbe un vin plin de amestecătură. Cînd îl varsă, toţi cei răi de pe pămînt sug, îl sorb şi -l beau pînă în fund!

9 B ut as for me, I will tell of it forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Eu însă voi vesti pururea aceste lucruri; voi cînta laude în cinstea Dumnezeului lui Iacov.

10 H e will cut off all the horns of the sinful. But the horns of those who are right with God will be lifted up.

Şi voi doborî toate puterile celor răi: puterile celui neprihănit însă se vor înălţa.
