1 M y dear children, I am writing this to you so you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, there is One Who will go between him and the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the One Who is right with God.

Copilaşilor, vă scriu aceste lucruri, ca să nu păcătuiţi. Dar dacă cineva a păcătuit, avem la Tatăl un Mijlocitor (Sau Advocat. Greceşte: Paraclet, adică apărător, ajutor.), pe Isus Hristos, Cel neprihănit.

2 H e paid for our sins with His own blood. He did not pay for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.

El este jertfa de ispăşire pentru păcatele noastre; şi nu numai pentru ale noastre, ci pentru ale întregei lumi.

3 W e can be sure that we know Him if we obey His teaching.

Şi prin aceasta ştim că Îl cunoaştem, dacă păzim poruncile Lui.

4 A nyone who says, “I know Him,” but does not obey His teaching is a liar. There is no truth in him.

Cine zice:,,Îl cunosc``, şi nu păzeşte poruncile Lui, este un mincinos, şi adevărul nu este în el.

5 B ut whoever obeys His Word has the love of God made perfect in him. This is the way to know if you belong to Christ.

Dar cine păzeşte Cuvîntul Lui, în el dragostea lui Dumnezeu a ajuns desăvîrşită; prin aceasta ştim că sîntem în El.

6 T he one who says he belongs to Christ should live the same kind of life Christ lived.

Cine zice că rămîne în El, trebuie să trăiască şi el cum a trăit Isus.

7 D ear friends, I am not writing a new Law for you to obey. It is an old Law you have had from the beginning. The old Law is the Word that you have heard.

Prea iubiţilor nu vă scriu o poruncă nouă, ci o poruncă veche, pe care aţi avut -o dela început. Porunca aceasta veche este Cuvîntul, pe care l-aţi auzit.

8 A nd yet it is a new Law that I am writing to you. It is truth. It was seen in Christ and it is seen in you also. The darkness is passing away and the true Light shines instead.

Totuş vă scriu o poruncă nouă, lucru care este adevărat atît cu privire la El, cît şi cu privire la voi; căci întunerecul se împrăştie, şi lumina adevărată şi răsare chiar.

9 W hoever says he is in the light but hates his brother is still in darkness.

Cine zice că este în lumină, şi urăşte pe fratele său, este încă în întunerec pînă acum.

10 B ut whoever loves his brother is in the light. And there will be no reason to sin because of him.

Cine iubeşte pe fratele său, rămîne în lumină, şi în el nu este niciun prilej de poticnire.

11 W hoever hates his brother is not in the light but lives in darkness. He does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. Do Not Love the World

Dar cine urăşte pe fratele său, este în întunerec, umblă în întunerec, şi nu ştie încotro merge, pentrucă întunerecul i -a orbit ochii.

12 I am writing to you, my children, for your sins have been forgiven because of Christ’s name.

Vă scriu, copilaşilor, fiindcă păcatele vă sînt iertate pentru Numele Lui.

13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him Who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have power over the devil. I have written to you, young boys and girls, because you have learned to know the Father.

Vă scriu, părinţilor, fiindcă aţi cunoscut pe Cel ce este dela început. Vă scriu, tinerilor, fiindcă aţi biruit pe cel rău. V'am scris, copilaşilor, fiindcă aţi cunoscut pe Tatăl.

14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him Who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong. You have kept God’s Word in your hearts. You have power over the devil.

V'am scris, părinţilor, fiindcă aţi cunoscut pe Cel ce este dela început. V'am scris, tinerilor, fiindcă sînteţi tari, şi Cuvîntul lui Dumnezeu rămîne în voi, şi aţi biruit pe cel rău.

15 D o not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love is not in him.

Nu iubiţi lumea, nici lucrurile din lume. Dacă iubeşte cineva lumea, dragostea Tatălui nu este în El.

16 F or everything that is in the world does not come from the Father. The desires of our flesh and the things our eyes see and want and the pride of this life come from the world.

Căci tot ce este în lume: pofta firii pămînteşti, pofta ochilor şi lăudăroşia vieţii, nu este dela Tatăl, ci din lume.

17 T he world and all its desires will pass away. But the man who obeys God and does what He wants done will live forever.

Şi lumea şi pofta ei trece; dar cine face voia lui Dumnezeu, rămîne în veac.

18 M y children, we are near the end of the world. You have heard that the false-christ is coming. Many false-christs have already come. This is how we know the end of the world is near.

Copilaşilor, este ceasul cel de pe urmă. Şi, după cum aţi auzit că are să vină anticrist, să ştiţi că acum s'au ridicat mulţi anticrişti: prin aceasta cunoaştem că este ceasul de pe urmă.

19 T hese left us. But they never belonged to us. If they had been a part of us, they would have stayed with us. Because they left, it is known they did not belong to us.

Ei au ieşit din mijlocul nostru, dar nu erau dintre ai noştri. Căci dacă ar fi fost dintre ai noştri, ar fi rămas cu noi; ci au ieşit, ca să se arate că nu toţi sînt dintre ai noştri.

20 T he Holy Spirit has been given to you and you all know the truth.

Dar voi aţi primit ungerea din partea Celui sfînt, şi ştiţi orice lucru.

21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth. I have written because you do know the truth and you know that no lie comes from the truth.

V'am scris nu că n'aţi cunoaşte adevărul, ci pentrucă îl cunoaşteţi, şi ştiţi că nicio minciună nu vine din adevăr.

22 W ho is a liar? He is a person who says that Jesus is not the Christ. The false-christ will have nothing to do with the Father and the Son and he will turn away from Them.

Cine este mincinosul, dacă nu cel ce tăgăduieşte că Isus este Hristosul? Acela este Anticristul, care tăgăduieşte pe Tatăl şi pe Fiul.

23 A person who will have nothing to do with the Son and turns against Him does not have the Father. The one who says he knows the Son has the Father also.

Oricine tăgăduieşte pe Fiul, n'are pe Tatăl. Oricine mărturiseşte pe Fiul, are şi pe Tatăl.

24 K eep in your heart what you have heard from the beginning. Then you will belong to the Son and to the Father if what you have heard from the beginning is in you.

Ce aţi auzit dela început, aceea să rămînă în voi. Dacă rămîne în voi ce aţi auzit dela început, şi voi veţi rămînea în Fiul şi în Tatăl.

25 A nd He has promised us life that lasts forever!

Şi făgăduinţa, pe care ne -a făcut -o El, este aceasta: viaţa vecinică.

26 I have written to you about those who are trying to lead you in the wrong way.

V'am scris aceste lucruri în vederea celor ce caută să vă rătăcească.

27 C hrist gave you the Holy Spirit and He lives in you. You do not need anyone to teach you. The Holy Spirit is able to teach you all things. What He teaches you is truth and not a lie. Live by the help of Christ as the Holy Spirit has taught you.

Cît despre voi, ungerea, pe care aţi primit -o dela El, rămîne în voi, şi n'aveţi trebuinţă să vă înveţe cineva; ci, după cum ungerea Lui vă învaţă despre toate lucrurile şi este adevărată, şi nu este o minciună, rămîneţi în El, după cum v'a învăţat ea.

28 A nd now, my children, live by the help of Him. Then when He comes again, we will be glad to see Him and not be ashamed.

Şi acum, copilaşilor, rămîneţi în El, pentruca atunci cînd Se va arăta El, să avem îndrăsneală, şi, la venirea Lui, să nu rămînem de ruşine şi depărtaţi de El.

29 Y ou know that Christ is right with God. Then you should know that everyone who is right with God is a child of His.

Dacă ştiţi că El este neprihănit, să ştiţi şi că oricine trăieşte în neprihănire este născut din El.
