1 I did not give up waiting for the Lord. And He turned to me and heard my cry.

(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David.) Îmi pusesem nădejdea în Domnul, şi El S'a plecat spre mine, mi -a ascultat strigătele.

2 H e brought me up out of the hole of danger, out of the mud and clay. He set my feet on a rock, making my feet sure.

M'a scos din groapa pieirii, din fundul mocirlei; mi -a pus picioarele pe stîncă, şi mi -a întărit paşii.

3 H e put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and will put their trust in the Lord.

Mi -a pus în gură o cîntare nouă, o laudă pentru Dumnezeul nostru. Mulţi au văzut lucrul acesta, s'au temut, şi s'au încrezut în Domnul.

4 H ow happy is the man who has made the Lord his trust, and has not turned to the proud or to the followers of lies.

Ferice de omul, care îşi pune încrederea în Domnul, şi care nu se îndreaptă spre cei trufaşi şi mincinoşi!

5 O Lord my God, many are the great works You have done, and Your thoughts toward us. No one can compare with You! If I were to speak and tell of them, there would be too many to number.

Doamne, Dumnezeule, multe sînt minunile şi planurile Tale pentru mine: nimeni nu se poate asemăna cu Tine. Aş vrea să le vestesc şi să le trîmbiţez, dar numărul lor este prea mare ca să le povestesc.

6 Y ou have not wanted gifts given on the altar in worship. You have opened my ears. You have not wanted burnt gifts or gifts to cover sins.

Tu nu doreşti nici jertfă, nici dar de mîncare, ci mi-ai străpuns urechile; nu ceri nici ardere de tot, nici jertfă de ispăşire.

7 T hen I said, “Look, I have come. It is written about me in the book.

Atunci am zis:,, Iată-mă că vin! -în sulul cărţii este scris despre mine-

8 I am happy to do Your will, O my God. Your Law is within my heart.”

vreau să fac voia Ta, Dumnezeule! Şi Legea Ta este în fundul inimii mele.

9 I have told the good news about what is right and good in the big meeting with many people. You know I will not close my lips, O Lord.

Vestesc îndurarea Ta, în adunarea cea mare; iată că nu-mi închid buzele. Tu ştii lucrul acesta, Doamne!

10 I have not hidden what is right and good with You in my heart. I have spoken about how faithful You are and about Your saving power. I have not hidden Your loving-kindness and Your truth from the big meeting.

Nu ţin în inima mea îndurarea Ta, ci vestesc adevărul tău şi mîntuirea Ta, şi nu ascund bunătatea şi credincioşia Ta în adunarea cea mare.

11 O Lord, You will not keep Your loving-pity from me. Your loving-kindness and Your truth will always keep me safe.

Tu, Doamne, nu-mi vei opri îndurările tale; ci bunătatea şi credincioşia Ta mă vor păzi totdeauna.

12 T oo many troubles gather around me. My sins have taken such a hold on me that I am not able to see. There are more of them than there are hairs on my head. And the strength of my heart has left me.

Căci rele fără număr mă împresoară, m'au ajuns pedepsele pentru nelegiuirile mele; şi nu le mai pot suferi vederea. Sînt mai multe decît perii capului meu, şi mi se moaie inima.

13 B e pleased to save me, O Lord. Hurry, O Lord, to help me.

Izbăveşte-mă, Doamne! Vino, Doamne, degrabă în ajutorul meu.

14 L et all who want to destroy my life be ashamed and troubled. Let those who want to hurt me be turned away without honor.

Să fie ruşinaţi şi înfruntaţi, toţi cei ce vor să-mi ia viaţa! Să dea înapoi şi să roşească de ruşine ceice-mi doresc pierzarea!

15 L et those who say to me, “O! O!” be filled with fear because of their shame.

Să rămînă înlemniţi de ruşinea lor, cei ce-mi zic:,, Ha! Ha!``

16 B ut let all who look for You have joy and be glad in You. Let those who love Your saving power always say, “The Lord be honored!”

Să se bucure şi să se veselească în Tine toţi cei ce Te caută! Ceice iubesc mîntuirea Ta să zică fără încetare:,, Mărit să fie Domnul!``

17 B ecause I suffer and am in need, let the Lord think of me. You are my help and the One Who sets me free. O my God, do not wait.

Eu sînt sărac şi lipsit, dar Domnul Se gîndeşte la mine. Tu eşti ajutorul şi izbăvitorul meu: nu zăbovi, Dumnezeule!
