1 A aron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire pan, put fire in it, and put special perfume on it. They gave a fire that was not holy to the Lord because the Lord had not told them to do this.

Fiii lui Aaron, Nadab şi Abihu, şi-au luat fiecare cădelniţa, au pus foc în ea, şi au pus tămîie pe foc; şi au adus astfel înaintea Domnului foc străin, lucru pe care El nu li -l poruncise.

2 S o the Lord sent out fire that burned them up and they died before the Lord.

Atunci a ieşit un foc dinaintea Domnului, i -a mistuit şi au murit înaintea Domnului.

3 T hen Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord meant when He said, ‘I will show Myself holy among those who are near Me. I will be honored in front of all the people.’” And Aaron said nothing.

Moise a zis lui Aaron:,, Aceasta este ce a spus Domnul, cînd a zis:, Voi fi sfinţit de cei ce se apropie de Mine, şi voi fi proslăvit în faţa întregului popor.`` Aaron a tăcut.

4 M oses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, the brother of Aaron’s father. He said to them, “Come, carry your brothers away from the holy place and away from the tents.”

Şi Moise a chemat pe Mişael şi Elţafan, fiii lui Uziel, unchiul lui Aaron, şi le -a zis:,, Apropiaţi-vă, scoateţi pe fraţii voştri din sfîntul locaş, şi duceţi -i afară din tabără.``

5 S o they came and carried them in their coats away from the tents, as Moses had said.

Ei s'au apropiat, şi i-au scos afară din tabără, îmbrăcaţi în tunicile lor, cum zisese Moise.

6 T hen Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, “Do not take the covering off your heads and do not tear your clothes, so you will not die and God will not be angry with all the people. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, will cry in sorrow because of the burning the Lord has done.

Moise a zis lui Aaron, lui Eleazar şi lui Itamar, fiii lui Aaron:,, Să nu vă descoperiţi capetele, şi să nu vă rupeţi hainele, ca nu cumva să muriţi, şi să Se mînie Domnul împotriva întregei adunări. Lăsaţi pe fraţii voştri, pe toată casa lui Israel, să plîngă arderea care a venit dela Domnul.

7 D o not even go out the door of the meeting tent, so you will not die. For the holy oil of the Lord is upon you.” And they did what Moses said. How the Religious Leaders Were to Act

Voi să nu ieşiţi din uşa cortului întîlnirii, ca să nu muriţi; căci untdelemnul ungerii Domnului este peste voi.`` Ei au făcut cum zisese Moise.

8 T he Lord said to Aaron,

Domnul a vorbit lui Aaron, şi a zis:

9 “ Do not drink wine or strong drink, you or your sons, when you come into the meeting tent, so you will not die. It is a Law forever for all your people.

Tu şi fiii tăi împreună cu tine, să nu beţi vin, nici băutură ameţitoare, cînd veţi intra în cortul întîlnirii, ca să nu muriţi: aceasta va fi o lege vecinică printre urmaşii voştri,

10 Y ou are to know the difference between what is holy and what is not, and between what is clean and what is not.

ca să puteţi deosebi ce este sfînt de ce nu este sfînt, ce este necurat de ce nu este curat,

11 Y ou are to teach the people of Israel all the Laws which the Lord has told them by Moses.”

şi să puteţi învăţa pe copiii lui Israel toate legile, pe cari li le -a dat Domnul prin Moise.``

12 T hen Moses said to Aaron and his sons who were left, Eleazar and Ithamar, “Take the grain gift that is left from the gifts by fire to the Lord. And eat it without yeast beside the altar, for it is most holy.

Moise a zis lui Aaron, lui Eleazar şi lui Itamar, cei doi fii cari mai rămăseseră lui Aaron:,, Luaţi partea din darul de mîncare rămasă din jertfele mistuite de foc înaintea Domnului, şi mîncaţi -o fără aluat lîngă altar: căci este un lucru prea sfînt.

13 E at it in a holy place, because it is yours and your sons’, from the gifts by fire to the Lord. For so I have been told.

S'o mîncaţi într'un loc sfînt; acesta este dreptul tău şi dreptul fiilor tăi, ca parte din darurile de mîncare mistuite de foc înaintea Domnului; căci aşa mi -a fost poruncit.

14 B ut you and your sons and daughters may eat in a clean place the breast of the wave gift and the thigh that is given. For they are given to you as your right and your sons’ right, from the peace gifts of the people of Israel.

Să mîncaţi de asemenea într'un loc curat, tu, fiii tăi şi fiicele tale împreună cu tine, pieptul care a fost legănat într'o parte şi alta, şi spata care a fost adusă ca jertfă prin ridicare; căci ele vă sînt date, ca un drept cuvenit ţie şi ca un drept cuvenit fiilor tăi, din jertfele de mulţămire ale copiilor lui Israel.

15 T hey will bring the thigh that is given and the breast of the wave gift, with the gifts by fire of the fat. They will wave them before the Lord for a wave gift. They will be yours and your sons’, as your right forever, as the Lord has said.”

Împreună cu grăsimile rînduite să fie mistuite de foc, ei vor aduce spata adusă ca jertfă prin ridicare, şi pieptul care se leagănă într'o parte şi alta înaintea Domnului; ele vor fi ale tale şi ale fiilor tăi împreună cu tine, printr'o lege vecinică, aşa cum a poruncit Domnul.``

16 B ut Moses looked and looked for the goat of the sin gift, and found that it had been burned up! So he was angry with Aaron’s sons who were left, Eleazar and Ithamar, saying,

Moise a căutat ţapul adus ca jertfă de ispăşire; şi iată că fusese ars. Atunci s'a mîniat pe Eleazar şi Itamar, fiii cari mai rămăseseră lui Aaron, şi a zis:

17 “ Why have you not eaten the sin gift in the holy place? For it is most holy and He gave it to you to take away the guilt of the people, to take away their sins before the Lord.

Pentru ce n'aţi mîncat jertfa de ispăşire într'un loc sfînt? Ea este un lucru prea sfînt; şi Domnul v'a dat -o, ca să purtaţi nelegiuirea adunării, şi să faceţi ispăşire pentru ea înaintea Domnului.

18 S ee, its blood has not been brought inside the holy place. You should have been sure to eat it in the holy place, as I told you.”

Iată că sîngele jertfei n'a fost dus înlăuntrul sfîntului locaş; trebuiaţi s'o mîncaţi în sfîntul locaş, cum am poruncit.``

19 B ut Aaron said to Moses, “See, today they have given their sin gift and their burnt gift to the Lord. When things like these happened to me, if I had eaten a sin gift today, would it have been good in the eyes of the Lord?”

Aaron a răspuns lui Moise:,, Iată, ei şi-au adus azi jertfa de ispăşire şi arderea lor de tot înaintea Domnului; şi, după cele ce mi s'au întîmplat, dacă aş fi mîncat azi jertfa de ispăşire, ar fi fost bine oare înaintea Domnului?``

20 A nd when Moses heard that, he was not angry any more.

Moise a auzit şi a fost mulţămit cu aceste cuvinte.
