Davi derrotou também Hadadézer, rei de Zobá, junto a Hamate, quando foi estabelecer o seu domínio junto ao rio Eufrates.
4 D avid took from him 1, 000 chariots and 7, 000 horsemen and 20, 000 foot soldiers, and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for 100 chariots.

11 K ing David also dedicated these to the Lord with the silver and the gold which he had carried away from all the nations: from Edom, Moab, the sons of Ammon, the Philistines, and from Amalek.
A estes também o rei Davi consagrou ao Senhor, juntamente com a prata e o ouro que trouxera de todas as nações dos edomeus, dos moabitas, dos amonitas, dos filisteus e dos amalequitas.
12 M oreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah defeated 18, 000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
Além disso Abisai, filho de Zeruia, matou dezoito mil edomeus no Vale do Sal.
13 T hen he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David wherever he went.
E pôs guarnições em Edom, e todos os edomeus ficaram sujeitos a Davi; e o Senhor dava vitória a Davi, por onde quer que ia.
14 S o David reigned over all Israel; and he administered justice and righteousness for all his people.
Dari, pois, reinou sobre todo o Israel; e julgava, e fazia justiça a todo o seu povo.
15 J oab the son of Zeruiah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
Joabe, filho de Zeruia, tinha o cargo do exército; Jeosafá, filho de Ailude, era cronista;
16 a nd Zadok the son of Ahitub and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were priests, and Shavsha was secretary;
Zadoque, filho de Aiuube, e Abimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Sarsa era escrivão;
17 a nd Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and the sons of David were chiefs at the king’s side.
