1 C erto dia Pedro e João estavam subindo ao templo na hora da oração, às três horas da tarde.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.

2 E stava sendo levado para a porta do templo chamada Formosa um aleijado de nascença, que ali era colocado todos os dias para pedir esmolas aos que entravam no templo.

And a man who had been lame from his mother’s womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms of those who were entering the temple.

3 V endo que Pedro e João iam entrar no pátio do templo, pediu-lhes esmola.

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.

4 P edro e João olharam bem para ele e, então, Pedro disse: “Olhe para nós!”

But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, “Look at us!”

5 O homem olhou para eles com atenção, esperando receber deles alguma coisa.

And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 D isse Pedro: “Não tenho prata nem ouro, mas o que tenho, isto lhe dou. Em nome de Jesus Cristo, o Nazareno, ande”.

But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!”

7 S egurando-o pela mão direita, ajudou-o a levantar-se, e imediatamente os pés e os tornozelos do homem ficaram firmes.

And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.

8 E de um salto pôs-se em pé e começou a andar. Depois entrou com eles no pátio do templo, andando, saltando e louvando a Deus.

With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

9 Q uando todo o povo o viu andando e louvando a Deus,

And all the people saw him walking and praising God;

10 r econheceu que era ele o mesmo homem que costumava mendigar sentado à porta do templo chamada Formosa. Todos ficaram perplexos e muito admirados com o que lhe tinha acontecido. A Pregação de Pedro no Templo

and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Peter’s Second Sermon

11 A pegando-se o mendigo a Pedro e João, todo o povo ficou maravilhado e correu até eles, ao lugar chamado Pórtico de Salomão.

While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called portico of Solomon, full of amazement.

12 V endo isso, Pedro lhes disse: “Israelitas, por que isto os surpreende? Por que vocês estão olhando para nós, como se tivéssemos feito este homem andar por nosso próprio poder ou piedade?

But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?

13 O Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Jacó, o Deus dos nossos antepassados, glorificou seu servo Jesus, a quem vocês entregaram para ser morto e negaram perante Pilatos, embora ele tivesse decidido soltá-lo.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

14 V ocês negaram publicamente o Santo e Justo e pediram que lhes fosse libertado um assassino.

But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

15 V ocês mataram o autor da vida, mas Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos. E nós somos testemunhas disso.

but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.

16 P ela fé no nome de Jesus, o Nome curou este homem que vocês vêem e conhecem. A fé que vem por meio dele lhe deu esta saúde perfeita, como todos podem ver.

And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.

17 “ Agora, irmãos, eu sei que vocês agiram por ignorância, bem como os seus líderes.

“And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also.

18 M as foi assim que Deus cumpriu o que tinha predito por todos os profetas, dizendo que o seu Cristo haveria de sofrer.

But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

19 A rrependam-se, pois, e voltem-se para Deus, para que os seus pecados sejam cancelados,

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

20 p ara que venham tempos de descanso da parte do Senhor, e ele mande o Cristo, o qual lhes foi designado, Jesus.

and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,

21 É necessário que ele permaneça no céu até que chegue o tempo em que Deus restaurará todas as coisas, como falou há muito tempo, por meio dos seus santos profetas.

whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

22 P ois disse Moisés: ‘O Senhor Deus lhes levantará dentre seus irmãos um profeta como eu; ouçam-no em tudo o que ele lhes disser.

Moses said, ‘ The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed to everything He says to you.

23 Q uem não ouvir esse profeta, será eliminado do meio do seu povo’.

And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

24 “ De fato, todos os profetas, de Samuel em diante, um por um, falaram e predisseram estes dias.

And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days.

25 E vocês são herdeiros dos profetas e da aliança que Deus fez com os seus antepassados. Ele disse a Abraão: ‘Por meio da sua descendência todos os povos da terra serão abençoados’.

It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘ And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’

26 T endo Deus ressuscitado o seu Servo, enviou-o primeiramente a vocês, para abençoá-los, convertendo cada um de vocês das suas maldades”.

For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
