1 Т ож за праведністю царюватиме цар, а князі володітимуть за правосуддям.

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice.

2 І станеться кожен, як захист від вітру, і немов та заслона від зливи, як потоки води на пустині, як тінь скелі тяжкої на спраглій землі...

A man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the storm, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

3 І не будуть заплющені очі видющих, і слухатимуть вуха тих, які слухають!

The eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

4 І знання розумітиме серце нерозважних, а язик недорікуватих поспішить говорити виразно.

The heart of the rash will understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.

5 Н е будуть вже кликати достойним глупця, а на обманця не скажуть шляхетний,

The fool will no longer be called noble, nor the scoundrel be highly respected.

6 б о глупоту говорить безумний, а серце його беззаконня вчиняє, щоб робити лукавство, та щоб говорити до Господа слово облудне, щоб душу голодного випорожнити й напою позбавити спраглого!

For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice profanity, and to utter error against Yahweh, To make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

7 А лукавий лихі його чини: він лихе замишляє, щоб нищити скромних словами брехливими, як убогий говорить про право,

The ways of the scoundrel are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the humble with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

8 а шляхетний міркує шляхетне, і стоїть при шляхетному.

But the noble devises noble things; and he will continue in noble things.

9 У станьте, безжурні жінки, почуйте мій голос, дочки безтурботні, послухайте слова мого!

Rise up, you women who are at ease! Hear my voice! You careless daughters, give ear to my speech!

10 Д нів багато на рік ви, безтурботні, тремтітимете, бо збір винограду скінчився, а згромадження плоду не прийде!

For days beyond a year you will be troubled, you careless women; for the vintage shall fail. The harvest won’t come.

11 Т ремтіть, ви безжурні, дрижіть, безтурботні, роздягніться, себе обнажіть, опережіться по стегнах!

Tremble, you women who are at ease! Be troubled, you careless ones! Strip yourselves, make yourselves naked, and put sackcloth on your waist.

12 З а принадні поля будуть битися в груди, за виноградник урожайний...

Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13 Н а землі цій народу мого зійде терен й будяччя, по всіх домах радости спаленина, на місті веселому...

Thorns and briers will come up on my people’s land; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

14 Б о палац опущений буде, міський гомін замовкне, Офел та башта навік стануть ямами, радістю диких ослів, пасовиськом черід,

For the palace will be forsaken. The populous city will be deserted. The hill and the watchtower will be for dens forever, a delight for wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks;

15 а ж Дух з височини проллється на нас, а пустиня в садок обернеться, а садок порахований буде за ліс!

Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest.

16 Т оді пробуватиме право в пустині, на ниві ж родючій сидітиме правда.

Then justice will dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness will remain in the fruitful field.

17 І буде роботою істини мир, а працею правди спокійність й безпека навіки.

The work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

18 І осяде народ мій у мешканні спокійнім, і в безпечних місцях, і в спокійних місцях відпочинку.

My people will live in a peaceful habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

19 І буде падати град на повалений ліс, і знизиться місто в долину...

Though hail flattens the forest, and the city is leveled completely.

20 Б лаженні ви, сівачі понад всякими водами, що відпускаєте ногу волові й ослові на волю!

Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who send out the feet of the ox and the donkey.
