1 P raise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise Him on high!

2 P raise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all His army!

Lodatelo, voi tutti i suoi angeli; lodatelo, voi tutti i suoi eserciti!

3 P raise Him, sun and moon! Praise Him, all you shining stars!

Lodatelo, sole e luna; lodatelo voi tutte, stelle lucenti!

4 P raise Him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!

Lodatelo, cieli dei cieli, e voi acque al di sopra dei cieli!

5 L et them praise the name of the Lord! For He spoke and they came into being.

Tutte queste cose lodino il nome del Signore, perché egli comandò, e furono create.

6 H e has made them last forever and ever. He has set a Law which will not pass away.

Egli le ha stabilite in eterno; ha dato loro una legge che non sarà trasgredita.

7 P raise the Lord from the earth, you large sea animals and all seas,

Lodate il Signore dal fondo della terra, voi mostri marini e oceani tutti,

8 f ire and hail, snow and clouds, and wind storms, obeying His Word.

fuoco e grandine, neve e nebbia, vento impetuoso che esegui i suoi ordini;

9 P raise the Lord, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all tall trees,

monti e colli tutti, alberi fruttiferi e cedri tutti;

10 w ild animals and all cattle, small animals that move on the ground and birds that fly,

animali selvatici e domestici, rettili e uccelli;

11 k ings of the earth and all people, princes and all leaders of the earth,

re della terra e popoli tutti, prìncipi e giudici della terra;

12 b oth young men and women who have never had men, and old men and children.

giovani e fanciulle, vecchi e bambini!

13 L et them praise the name of the Lord. For His name alone is honored. His shining-greatness is above earth and heaven.

Lodino il nome del Signore, perché solo il suo nome è esaltato; la sua maestà è al di sopra della terra e del cielo.

14 H e has raised up a horn for His people, praise for all who belong to Him, for the people of Israel, who are near to Him. Praise the Lord!

Egli ha ridato forza al suo popolo, motivo di lode per tutti i suoi fedeli, per i figli d’Israele, il popolo che gli sta vicino. Alleluia.
