1 ¶ Halelu-JAH: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for praise is pleasant and beautiful.

Lodate l'Eterno, perché è cosa buona cantare le lodi al nostro DIO, perché è piacevole e conveniente lodarlo.

2 T he LORD, he who builds up Jerusalem; shall gather together the outcasts of Israel.

L'Eterno edifica Gerusalemme e raccoglie i dispersi d'Israele

3 H e heals the broken hearted, and he binds up their wounds.

Egli guarisce quelli che hanno il cuore rotto e fascia le loro ferite.

4 H e counts the number of the stars and calls them all by their names.

Conta il numero delle stelle e le chiama tutte per nome.

5 G reat is our Lord and of great power; his intelligence is infinite.

Grande è il nostro Signore, immensa è la sua potenza e infinita la sua intelligenza.

6 T he LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked down to the earth.

L'Eterno innalza gli umili, ma abbassa i malvagi fino a terra.

7 S ing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Cantate all'Eterno con ringraziamento, cantate con la cetra le lodi al nostro DIO,

8 W ho covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares the rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.

che copre il cielo di nuvole, prepara la pioggia per la terra e fa crescere l'erba sui monti.

9 H e who gives the beast his food and to the sons of the ravens which cry unto him.

Egli provvede cibo al bestiame e ai piccoli dei corvi che gridano.

10 H e does not delight in the strength of the horse; nor does he take pleasure in the legs of a man.

Egli non si compiace nella forza del cavallo né prende alcun piacere nelle gambe dell'uomo.

11 T he LORD takes pleasure in those that fear him, in those that wait upon his mercy.

L'Eterno prende piacere in quelli che lo temono in quelli che sperano nella sua benignità.

12 ¶ Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

Loda l'Eterno, o Gerusalemme, celebra il tuo DIO, o Sion.

13 F or he has strengthened the bars of thy gates; he has blessed thy sons within thee.

Poiché egli ha rinforzato le sbarre delle tue porte e ha benedetto i tuoi figli in mezzo a te.

14 H e who makes peace to be thy borders shall fill thee with the finest of the wheat.

Egli conserva la pace entro i tuoi confini e ti sazia col fior di frumento.

15 H e sends forth his word upon earth; his word runs very swiftly.

Invia sulla terra il suo comando, la sua parola corre velocissima.

16 H e who gives snow like wool scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.

Manda la neve come lana e sparge la brina come cenere.

17 H e casts forth his ice like morsels; who can stand before his cold?

Getta la sua grandine come a pezzi; chi può resistere al suo freddo?

18 H e shall send forth his word and melt them; his wind shall blow, and the waters shall flow.

Manda la sua parola e li fa sciogliere fa soffiare il suo vento, e le acque corrono.

19 H e declares his words unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

Egli ha fatto conoscere la sua parola a Giacobbe, i suoi statuti e i suoi decreti a Israele.

20 H e has not dealt so with the other nations, which have not known his judgments. Halelu-JAH.
