1 ¶ The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.

«Salmo di Davide» All'Eterno appartiene la terra e tutto ciò che è in essa, il mondo e i suoi abitanti.

2 F or he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

Poiché egli l'ha fondata sui mari e l'ha stabilita sui fiumi.

3 ¶ Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in the place of his holiness?

Chi salirà al monte dell'Eterno? Chi starà nel suo santo luogo?

4 H e that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not taken my name in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.

L'uomo innocente di mani e puro di cuore, che non eleva l'animo a vanità e non giura con frode.

5 H e shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his saving health.

Egli riceverà benedizioni dall'Eterno e giustizia dal DIO della sua salvezza.

6 T his is the generation of those that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Tale è la generazione di quelli che lo cercano, che cercano la tua faccia, o Dio di Giacobbe. (Sela)

7 ¶ Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

O porte, alzate i vostri capi; e voi, porte eterne, alzatevi, e il Re di gloria entrerà.

8 W ho is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Chi è questo Re di gloria? E' l'Eterno forte e potente, l'Eterno potente in battaglia.

9 L ift up your heads, O ye gates; lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

porte, alzate i vostri capi; alzatevi, o porte eterne, e il Re di gloria entrerà.

10 W ho is this King of glory? The LORD of the hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Chi è questo Re di gloria? E' l'Eterno degli eserciti; egli è il Re di gloria. (Sela)
