1 T hen the Lord sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him: “There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor.

Господь послал к Давиду Нафана. Он пришел к нему и сказал: – В одном городе было два человека, один богатый, а другой бедный.

2 T he rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds.

У богача было очень много мелкого и крупного скота,

3 B ut the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him.

а у бедняка не было ничего, кроме одной маленькой овечки, которую он купил. Он заботился о ней, и она выросла у него вместе с его детьми. Она ела из его тарелки, пила из его чаши и даже спала у него на груди. Она была у него, как дочь.

4 A nd a traveler came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own flock and from his own herd to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him; but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”

К богачу пришел путник, но богач пожалел взять что-либо из своих мелкого или крупного скота, чтобы приготовить пищу для пришедшего к нему путника. Вместо этого он взял овечку бедняка и приготовил ее для того, кто пришел к нему.

5 S o David’s anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, “ As the Lord lives, the man who has done this shall surely die!

Сильно разгневался Давид на этого человека и сказал Нафану: – Верно, как и то, что Господь жив, человек, который сделал это, заслуживает смерти!

6 A nd he shall restore fourfold for the lamb, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.”

Он должен заплатить за овечку четырехкратно, потому что он сделал это и не имел сострадания.

7 T hen Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.

Тогда Нафан сказал Давиду: – Ты – тот человек! Вот что говорит Господь, Бог Израиля: «Я помазал тебя царем над Израилем и избавил тебя от руки Саула.

8 I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more!

Я отдал тебе дом твоего господина и жен твоего господина отдал в твои объятия. Я отдал тебе дом Израиля и Иуды. И если бы всего этого было слишком мало, Я дал бы тебе еще больше.

9 W hy have you despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon.

Почему ты пренебрег словом Господа, сделав зло в Его глазах? Ты поразил хетта Урию мечом и взял его жену себе в жены. Ты убил его мечом аммонитян.

10 N ow therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’

Поэтому меч никогда не отступит от твоего дома, так как ты пренебрег Мной и взял себе в жены жену хетта Урии».

11 T hus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.

Так говорит Господь: «Я наведу на тебя беду из твоего же дома. У тебя на глазах Я возьму твоих жен и отдам их твоему ближнему, и он будет спать с твоими женами так, что все будут об этом знать.

12 F or you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’”

Ты сделал это тайно, а Я сделаю это пред всем Израилем и пред солнцем».

13 S o David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

И Давид сказал Нафану: – Я согрешил перед Господом. Нафан ответил: – Господь снял с тебя твой грех. Ты не умрешь.

14 H owever, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”

Но так как, сделав это, ты показал совершенное презрение Господу, сын, который у тебя родится, умрет. Смерть сына Давида

15 T hen Nathan departed to his house. The Death of David’s Son And the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill.

После этого Нафан ушел к себе домой. Господь поразил ребенка, которого жена Урии родила Давиду, и он заболел.

16 D avid therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.

Давид молился Богу о ребенке. Он постился и проводил ночи в своей комнате лежа на земле.

17 S o the elders of his house arose and went to him, to raise him up from the ground. But he would not, nor did he eat food with them.

Старейшины его дома стояли рядом с ним, пытаясь поднять его с земли, но он отказывался и не ел с ними никакой пищи.

18 T hen on the seventh day it came to pass that the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead. For they said, “Indeed, while the child was alive, we spoke to him, and he would not heed our voice. How can we tell him that the child is dead? He may do some harm!”

На седьмой день ребенок умер. Слуги Давида боялись сказать ему, что ребенок мертв, так как они думали: «Когда ребенок был еще жив, мы говорили с Давидом, но он не слушал нас. Как же нам сказать ему, что ребенок умер? Он может что-нибудь сделать с собой».

19 W hen David saw that his servants were whispering, David perceived that the child was dead. Therefore David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” And they said, “He is dead.”

Давид заметил, что его слуги перешептываются, и понял, что ребенок умер. – Умер ребенок? – спросил он. – Да, – ответили они, – умер.

20 S o David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.

Тогда Давид поднялся с земли. Вымывшись, умастившись благовониями и переодевшись, он пошел в дом Господа и поклонился. Затем он пошел в свой дом, где по его приказу ему подали пищу, и поел.

21 T hen his servants said to him, “What is this that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive, but when the child died, you arose and ate food.”

Слуги спросили его: – Почему ты поступаешь таким образом? Когда ребенок был жив, ты постился и плакал; теперь ребенок мертв, а ты встал и ешь!

22 A nd he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’

Он ответил: – Когда ребенок еще был жив, я постился и плакал. Я думал: «Кто знает? Вдруг Господь будет милостив ко мне, и ребенок останется жив».

23 B ut now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” Solomon Is Born

Но теперь он умер, и зачем мне поститься? Разве я могу его вернуть? Я пойду к нему, а он ко мне не вернется. Рождение Соломона

24 T hen David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her. So she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. Now the Lord loved him,

Затем Давид утешил свою жену Вирсавию, вошел к ней и лег с ней. Она забеременела и родила сына. Давид назвал его Соломоном. Господь полюбил его

25 a nd He sent word by the hand of Nathan the prophet: So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the Lord. Rabbah Is Captured

и послал пророка Нафана, чтобы тот по повелению Господа назвал его Иедидия. Взятие Давидом Раввы (1 Пар. 20: 1-3)

26 N ow Joab fought against Rabbah of the people of Ammon, and took the royal city.

Тем временем Иоав воевал против аммонитской столицы Раввы и взял царскую крепость.

27 A nd Joab sent messengers to David, and said, “I have fought against Rabbah, and I have taken the city’s water supply.

Иоав послал к Давиду вестников, говоря: – Я воевал с Раввой и захватил ее водный запас.

28 N ow therefore, gather the rest of the people together and encamp against the city and take it, lest I take the city and it be called after my name.”

Итак, собери оставшихся воинов, осади город и возьми его. Иначе я сам возьму город, и он будет назван моим именем.

29 S o David gathered all the people together and went to Rabbah, fought against it, and took it.

Давид собрал все войско, пошел на Равву и, сразившись, взял ее.

30 T hen he took their king’s crown from his head. Its weight was a talent of gold, with precious stones. And it was set on David’s head. Also he brought out the spoil of the city in great abundance.

Он снял золотую корону с головы их царя – корона весила талант и была украшена драгоценным камнем – и возложил ее на свою голову. Еще он взял в городе огромную добычу.

31 A nd he brought out the people who were in it, and put them to work with saws and iron picks and iron axes, and made them cross over to the brick works. So he did to all the cities of the people of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

Он вывел жителей, которые были в нем, заставив их работать пилами, железными мотыгами и топорами, а также изготавливать кирпичи. Он поступил так со всеми аммонитскими городами. После этого Давид со всем своим войском вернулся в Иерусалим.
